I took my 07 Jeep to get a coolant leak replaced…again. I was expecting the worse. I was contacted the next day that my service was covered under their warranty. While it was at the shop, a burglar got into my Jeep, took some stereo equipment and vandalized the dashboard in the process. I received a call from Perry who assured me GandG would make it right. I was expecting the same old lies and excuses about the repairs. I was even shopping to get the same equipment again from other stores. G and G went above and beyond to replace everything that was broken with factory parts and the same or better equipment. I have never left a auto repair shop with the cash I walked in with and drove away with a smile on my face.

They do a full inspection if your car and give you a list of things your car will need. So that you are aware and can prepare for the repair if needed. They are great people they fixed something but it didnt fix my problem so they credit it towards the next repair to fix the problem. That a lone is a great thing to find a shop thats not out to empty your wallet because they think they can, we all need our cars to get around and we pay what we need to to keep them running.

They wanted to charge me a 1,000.00 to change a water pump and 2 belts. Water pumps new only cost.150.00 and belts are about 20 bucks each. And is about 2 or 3 hour job. I have my truck towed to a different ASE certified garage and changed me 450.00 out the door for the same job. When I told my tow truck driver why I was moving my truck from one garage to another he said, a grand to change out a water pump.... There is no way that is a 1000.00 job.G&G was honest in telling me they have to mark up their parts and change more because the rent is high. Tried to sell me on they fact that they warranty the parts and work for a life time. Well so do others for half the price. Shop around people.

You know, I could write a long detailed review about just how wonderful my experience with G&G has been over this last week and how Perry the service advisor was so informative and clear in all of his communications with me. But, lets just say that if you ever find yourself stuck on the side of the road, in need of preventative maintenance or ready for some major repair, you will find no better auto repair shop than G&G in Bakersfield or anywhere else. Repairs completed for a fair price and on time. Promises made, promises kept. I would trust this shop with auto repair need I have. Pretty amazing I got so lucky by dropping on Yelp and finding exactly what I needed when I needed it.

Came here because I was told these guys were “experts” in AC. Charged me a fortune for refrigerant it didn’t need. I guess that’s what they say for everything. They never even noticed that the condenser fan motor was burnt out. Easiest thing in the world to see. What a joke.

Ive received nothing but the best of service and help from these guys. I like to work on my own vehicles, but when I get stumped on a problem, these guys have always helped me figure it out and get back on the road quickly! They have always treated me very fair and honestly.

Phenomenal! Im on a road trip so I chose this place because it had great reviews, fair prices, and it wasnt a big chain (I personally find that those places miss things and dont really know what theyre doing). I made a great choice. Everyone was so friendly and kind. I called earlier and they told me that they were busy but might be able to change my oil if I dropped it off. Traffic slowed me down so I got there about an hour and a half before closing. Despite this, they were able to squeeze me in and get the job done quickly. Highly recommend. Im not a local but this place seems to be the best.

The folks at G&G were our heroes today: we are full-timer RVers whose tow vehicle started acting up during an overnight on Bakersfield. Several auto mechanics blew us off, but G&G made time for us, despite being fully booked, and saw to it that we were on the road again after only a short delay. Folks like those at G&G are the reason I searched for an independent mechanic instead of a corporate GM dealership. Kudos to the team at G&G!

Really thankful for Mike’s (so sorry if this is the incorrect name!) knowledge and explanation when I was having some car issues. They are fairly priced and take the time to go over options with you. I took my 93 accord there for the ac and it took them nearly a week just to tell me my compressor kept blowing fuses and I needed a new ac. 2 days before putting my car in their shop I took my car to la at 90 mph no problem at all, I get it back from the shop and all of a sudden it over heats. I took it back and they gave me the run around, they offered to look at my car but when I had asked how long it’ll be the guy told me he doesn’t know because my keys are at the bottom of the board. Needless to say I grabbed my keys and took my service else where. Honestly 1 star is generous.

Car troubles arent fun! I spent hours and hours trying to fix my own check engine light/rough idle/lean fuel on my 99 Acura and G&G found the issue soon after I dropped it off.I appreciate the professionalism and the transparency/communication in costs. If there is ever another problem I cant DIY Ill be taking it here again.

Worst experience I have ever had at an Automotive repair. This is the first time I have ever written a review for anything. But my experience was terrible. My truck came out of shop worse than when it went in, with more things wrong with it than when it went in. Work was terrible, poor response time returning calls, did not stand behind their workmanship. Already out of pocket $1997.98 and now have to take my truck to another repair shop to repair what should have been repaired already. You folks at G&G should be ashamed of yourselves.

Upon seeing a lot of TV commercials about G&G I decided to give them a try and trust them with my vehicle maintenance, and I’m very happy I did because they are very reliable, helpful, honest, friendly and professional. I cannot say enough about G&G Auto Repair. Their customer service is second to none. While traveling from the state of Washington back to Arizona my brother had diesel pickup issues. G&G already had a booked schedule but took my phone call from Rockford, IL and helped my brother make educated decisions on next steps. I am so happy that I found G&G Auto Repair.We own a couple of Range Rovers and there isn’t a Land Rover location in Bakersfield, so finding an Auto Repair shop for our vehicles had been a challenge. The staff was welcoming, so helpful and very great with communication. We took our Range Rover in for a gas leak issue. And our car was serviced and fixed within 2 days. That to me was amazing, especially being that Land Rover parts sometimes have to be special ordered and can take some time. Happy to say this is now our “home” for our vehicle maintenance & issues.

I took my jeep in because it was having stalling issues intermittently and check engine out coming on and off. It was in the shop for a week and they could not figure out what was wrong with it. It ended up costing me $1300.

Helpful and prompt! Quickly addressed our concern over the phone. We were stranded on the side of the 5 and had called AAA. They were no help. At all. G&G staff offered reassurance to of what happened with our car and that we were fine to move safely along with our journey. If we ever get stranded in Bakersfield again we’ll surely stop at G&G!

The guys and gals at G & G Auto Repair have all be fantastic! I called a few weeks back concerning an AC issue in our truck. I was informed that they would be happy to assist us but unfortunately due to the current COVID situation they are backed up. I was willing to wait and I’m so glad I did! They sent two gentlemen out to pick up the truck. They called me right before starting work and confirmed what I wanted done and what they would look for and do as part of the service. I’m not a car person so they explained things to me when I asked what it was. They were all so very kind, informative, and even a little funny. I had to call back with info a few times as well and that was ever an issue. I never felt like I was a burden in any way and they always seemed eager to help and listen. I read the reviews and made the decision to take my car there. I have over 200,000 miles I put on my car and have been to a many of repair shops! This was the best by far.i was greeted with a smile and asked what i needed! I was told in detail what they were going to do and how much it would cost! Perry is very helpful. He is also very knowledgeable about our car problems. Our RAM 3500 truck died because of transmission and clutch malfunctioning. We also bring our Range Rover LR4 to them. They take care both of our cars.

Hey, what can I say, I have a farm truck - a 1995 Dodge 3500 v10 gasser that Dodge themselves wont service, G&G gladly brought it in and has been helping me keep it going. they cleared the check engine - multiple things causing it, fixed the SRS warning, fluids, and now replacing part of the gas line that was causing vapers in the cab.I brought it in without an appointment on a day they were fully booked and they were still able to track down the leak and give me a quote - GREAT SERVICE!!!The staff have always been super friendly and helpful, I am very pleased with G&G and strongly recommend!!!

Had my car first at Haddad dodge for over 4 months to fix a rough idle. $3000 later and a ton of warranty repairs on top of that they still couldnt fix my car. Brought it to G&G auto, within one day they told me it was my engine mounts, they even recommended I dont have to replace them, they werent broken only worn. I said go ahead anyways because the vibration was so annoying, 4 days later I got my car back and it ran perfectly smooth. Honest mechanics that wont try to steal your wallet!

I was searching local spots for AC recharge on my vehicle. After a lengthy look I found G&G.. based on all peoples reviews I elected to give them a call. 1st hats off to the lady who answered the phone (u know who u are). She was able to squeeze my vehicle in that same day 2 hrs later from time of call and offered me a ride home. this was due to my situation (having to leave for AZ) next day. I showed up to G&G and my vehicle was immediately taken back ( no need to be driven home ). During my time there, the gentleman taking care of my invoice kept me up to date on the situation with my Yukon. All staff that came in greeted me and made sure I was good to go. Once my vehicle was done ( 1 hr later) I was gone. G&G kudos to you and all your staff. You definitely will have me back as a customer for any future needs on my vehicles.

AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP WITH INTEGRITY!! I know, normally those words dont go together. My van was running great until I had my oil changed by a different shop, (not G & G) when I pulled away my oil light and check engine light came on and my van was running rough. Long story short that other shop tried to over charge me so I took it to G&G. After a diagnostic I was quoted a decent price and gave the go ahead to fix it. So I get a call from Michael saying my van is done. I was super excited to get my vehicle back! I asked him what the damage was and he says Oh, a whopping $38. Umm.... What??? I had the van that needed an oil pressure sender and a few other things so this must be a mistake right? Come to find out the shop that did the oil change put the wrong oil filter in it and that is what was sending the codes and caused it to run rough! I would have been completely content with paying the original estimated price. It would have hurt me bad financially since I am currently layed off but I knew the price and I agreed to it. They could have ripped me off and I would have never known. When it came time to pay and he was only charging me $38 I reminded him about the diagnostic charge but Michael shrugged and told me It was only an oil filter. I am still blown away with this. I have never had this kind of experience with a mechanic. If you need a trustworthy mechanic with fair prices this is where you need to go. They have earned a lifelong customer and I will recommend G&G to everyone I hear needs work done! Thank you guys so much! My family is very grateful. God bless you

They fit me in to their busy schedule and patiently explained the whole process. Fixed the issue and dealt with my insurance company fairly quickly.

Very friendly place cheap and affordable 1st time visitors get 20 dollars off your work needed. Anytime after that search for coupons in the mail there tend to be very good ones. Another cool thing about the place is they give you rides to wherever you need to be and will pick u up when vehicle is ready so you dont have to wait there all day.

We had an alternator problem. G and G found a leaky thermostat housing had been dripping on the alternator. They gave us a quote and did the work. The price was the same as the quote. The work was done well. Its been 2-3 months and we have not had any issues. My only complaint is the 600$ for an alternator. AutoZone caries three for that vehicle for 200-300$. Happy to have my vehicle back.

G&G is my trusted repair shop in Bakersfield. I am from out of town and have always struggled to find a shop that I truly had trust in. My repair shop in my home town was family friends so I knew I could trust them. From the moment I started working with G&G I could tell they were different.I brought my car in for motor mount replacement. G&G completed a full review of my car and made some recommendations for service. They were not pushy at all. I told them what I wanted to do and they took care of it. Communication was very clear on what work was being done and the price I could expect to pay.After starting the motor mount repair the technician noticed other motor mounts were near end of life. I have done this work in the past and know the technician was making a valid recommendation. Since I knew I could take care of the work once the other mounts failed I elected not to do the work at the time. Michael was perfectly fine with my decision and respected my choice.The technician also noticed the air intake boot was damaged. Michael called me and recommended I replace the boot. I agreed and had them do the work. When I showed up at the shop to pay, they showed me the damaged boot so that I understood why the recommendation was made to replace it. I have not found this level of honesty in any other shop!

Thank you for the great service Richard. I will be back in when I need my next oil change.Just so people are aware, certain cars wont turn correctly if the PSI on your tires are dangerously low. You should check that before you go to a car shop, especially if your steering fluid is pink. While they didnt seem to know that when I went in, they made the moment right and now we both know.While I was there, they kept me entertained while I waited for service to be completed, which was done very quickly. My mechanic in-laws always double check work on my car, and they did everything honestly and correctly. Very friendly and hilarious staff. I would consider going there just to hang out because the staff is that hilarious. They gave me a holiday goodie, which was scrumptious.I will be back. :)

Our van developed a squeak as we entered California while traveling across the country, so we took it here to have it looked at. They were able to get it in right away and came to the conclusion that it was nothing serious and sent us on our way free of charge. They were very honest and efficient. We highly recommend G&G
