Here we go.I have a 2015 Silverado and the Factory 8” radio without the Bose. The ChevyMylink radios are a strange creature. I have done many installs back in the day and just didn’t want to jack with the factory radio settings that are in the fray!I had Custom Sounds install a LC7i and two amplifiers I had bought prior. The install is hands down, Spot On, perfect and clean. So why not 5 stars? One reason. They charged me 349.99 for a box of 50 sq.ft. That would have been 60 bucks on Amazon. I feel I got ripped on that. Other than that, I would recommend them and would go back if needed. Just not for sound deadening material. My fault for not ask what it would cost. I was thinking maybe 60-80 bucks. Oh well. Cheers y’all.

I was searching on Amazon for a new head unit for my truck. I kept seeing the same person in the questions section answering questions and I was impressed that he was helping so much when it wasnt his actual products that I was looking at. I called his number and not only did he show me some options of exactly what I was looking for, his prices were really great too.Mike took the time to explain the differences between certain options and created the perfect bundle that had everything I needed, including trim kit, camera, the correct wiring harness, etc. He shipped it to me and I had the whole package within 4 days (I dont live in Texas).Love my new stereo, its perfect. They gave me 3 different prices to replace the tint on my window, when l called yesterday , they told me its going to be $25 , l took the car to them today after Justin came out and looked at it , he said its $50 , then after we went back inside shop, he said its $75 !! I just dont trust these people , and wont let them touch my car.stay away from this shop.

Cris installed an amp n sobs in Merisas car. We could not locate an accessory line, so amp would not power off. I took it in, the sales rep wanted to sell me a line convertor. The installer caught the issue, resolved, saved me $200... appreciate the honest work. Good job!

I had sounds placed in my 2003 Buick Park Avenue. The equipment and subwoofer was suggested by Christopher Searcy on what would sound good in my vehicle. And believe me it sounds GOOD from the time I turned it on all the way to my destination. The longer I have my installation, the more I realize they dont pay attention to detail. I paid them over $1,300 to repair/replace components damaged when mechanics working on my car fried the head unit and some of the speakers. At first the speakers were wired out of phase, so I took it back to have that corrected (its still not right but Im not taking it back to their tin ears). Then when the back seat pass-through to the trunk wouldnt stay up (making my AudioControl EQS visible) I thought the latch was broken, until I realized they reinstalled the sub-woofer too close to the back seat and that is what was preventing the latch from closing. In the meantime my driver-side power window was having problems going up, the body shop said it would be the motor, and $500 later and a new window motor it turns out I didnt need it (but the old one was damaged when it was being removed and couldnt be put back in), it turns out what was causing the problem was a loose sheet of foam with the sound-proofing material I had them install originally getting in the way of the window. Ive probably spent $10,000 with them, but Ill take my future work elsewhere, even out of town to get the sub re-positioned correctly and my front speakers corrected.[UPDATE 3 months later]...Finally took my car to another shop to reposition the sub and the EQS.CUSTOM SOUNDS HAD BYPASSED THE EQUALIZER!!!When they last put the system back together, they completely bypassed the equalizer and just connected the input and output cables together with RCA adapters - they werent even plugged into the equalizer! (I should have taken a picture of it to post here but was so angry when it was pointed out to me a photo didnt occur to me). Im now adjusting my rating from 2 starts to 1 star (they wont let me leave a NO star rating). Thats inexcusable behavior from a company—so be warned that you might get good a good installation, or you might get an intentionally sloppy installation by someone who doesnt know what they are doing—either way they will take your money. There are other audio shops other that Custom Sounds and I would recommend any of them first.

I got two subwoofers installed about four months ago and I’m loving them, the installment didn’t take much time, it also wasn’t too expensive and one of their sales associates, Saul, was amazing with keeping it in my budget, I highly suggest them for any speaker equipment you’ll looking for!

I had a subwoofer installed and within one month it stopped working, of course the manager brought me in and had it diagnosed. Got everything done through warranty.

I worked with Austen on my sound system for my car. I recently lost my grandfather he always played Queen when we were in the car. Austen asked me to play one of my favorite songs. Well when I had called wanted a pair of subs that were going on special until next week the sales rep said Id have to wait which I was a little disappointed until I got a phone call back 2 hours later the store manager called saying to come on over and he would give it to me at the price that they would be going for on special so I was satisfied I do my own installs so Im good and broke to sub boxes with my heavy hitting bass they even gave me money back

I have to say I’m not happy, after a terrible experience at the south Congress store I was sent to the burnet store. I live south and this is not an easy drive.... so after multiple times taking my car alarm to the other location I was assured by Dustin this would be fixed. It lasted about 10 days and my alarm was erroring again.... took it back and again I was assured by Dustin this would be fixed and again 10 days later same thing!! How hard is it to install an alarm and or fix this issue! Is it because I’m not installing a 10k audio system or I don’t have a lambo.... by the way that took the whole stores attention and all I heard was how quick they would get him in and out.... customer service based on the amount of cash you have or car you drive.... wow! At this point I’m not sure what to do.... you have lost more than just one customer. I will not recommend you all to my truck club and or any friends or Family. I guess I have to find another audio alarm place to fix this! Waste of my time, Gas and money!!! Ugh!!!!

My experience started off well, turned super rocky in the middle, but ultimately ended up turning out pretty great in the end. This was almost entirely possible and thanks to Hunter who went WELL above and beyond in order to turn this at one point VERY upset customer into a VERY happy, satisfied customer once all said and done. He was especially good at remaining calm when I took all the anger I had at the situation and probably unfairly unleashed on him and took care of me the way I expected and had heard from many others that I would have been treated. Second special shout-out goes to installer/tech/car electronics expert of experts Ben - he ultimately had to install two stereos for me to get the job done right and he performed it with amazing speed. I only awarded 4 stars NOT because of Hunter or Ben, but because management is apparently disseminating incorrect information to their employees during training who, through no fault of their own, in turn give that same incorrect information to the customers. A little clarity and a little more knowledge of the products they sell would help everybody more in the end. But because of those two gentlemen specifically, I will now be a return customer without a doubt. Thanks again guys!

First off, although new. Hunter was eager to help and saught advice when unsure. They worked to ensure my needs were met and did not try to push things I did not need. I went to Pro Car Audio on a Friday after having to wait two days at customs sounds on burnet road for them to say we can’t probably get to your car until next week and I was there around 1pm got a radio and rear view cam install and they had to put some extra part in there to make it fit and everything and it all cost 425$ for everything and they was done by 5 that day also custom sounds was going to charge 512$ for the same stuff and broke there promise to be done by the same day Now Burnett location sucks don’t know about the rest they said they was short staffed but that not my problem stop taking customer if you can’t do the job when you say you can do it by the time you said also I prepaid when I took my car there and then when I was trying to get my money back cause I decided to go elsewhere it took them them the whole day to come up with my money and they had my car just out in the open just sitting in the hot sun also sitting overnight in the same spot the whole time it was just horrible I’m telling you go to PRO CAR AUDIO BEST PLACE IN TOWN IN MY OPINION

Joseph made sure I got the best tint value for my cars needs! Best heat barrier. Lighter in the front (cops insist); darker in the back (more light/heat blockage PLUS privacy). He also did a great job making sure I knew the cost vs. added protection from sun/heat.

Had some problems with finding a wiring harness for my 1997 Toyota 4Runner. When it was hard to find the right harness at other audio place the guys at Custom Sounds and Tint went above an beyond to help me get the correct harness. The staff and management are super knowledgeable and awesome. I definitely will be back for future business with them.

Please read before you want to go here!!!!Very unprofessional business, Very bad customer service, rude people, and not respectful for the customer at all, I did go to custom sounds on the Burnett , and did drop off my car on Thursday and my car was supposed to be ready by Sunday and it wasn’t, When I did go on Sunday to check in my car they did not done any work in my car and they told me my car would be ready for pick up on Monday, I got a call from them on Monday and said unfortunately the car cannot be ready today so you can come on Tuesday and pick it up at 6:00 pm or 6:30 PM, and I did go all the way from North Austin to Burnet, I was there at 6:00 pm and my car was not still ready,that person who is working on my car he told me to go in Lowe’s and buy a cable for him unbelievable, he said Because that’s the only thing I need to connect the TVs together and I’m done with your car and I can give you the card to you soon, and I did go to Lowe’s and bought him a cable, but right now it’s ((12:40AM)), and I’m still at the shop and my car is not ready I keep telling them bring my car I don’t want you to do any job in my car any more but they keep telling me, will be done 15 minute, 30 minute since 6:00 pm today ...!!!! unbelievable I can’t believe that, I never have that kind of experience before....

I had a scheduled install of a car stereo, which was cancelled 3 times due to a back log of installs that are taking longer than expected. Once I finally did get in I was sent to a different store to get it done. The install is absolute trash. The new dash kit isnt installed properly, leaving gaps all around that allow for the head unit to slide out during acceleration. The side moldings were not replaced, and two of the tabs were broke off to render the piece useless. The cables were not tucked properly and several of the cords have made their way out into plain sight. Mind you, this is only 3 weeks ago that I had this install performed.I am not in any way pleased with the work the Custom Sounds did. The staff in the front of the store are quite nice and helpful. The installers are obviously too busy to perform their jobs properly.I was scheduled to have all of the speakers replaced and two molded subs placed. I chose to use a different company and I am amazed at the quality of work that was performed in comparison.

I came in to price a basic stereo upgrade for my F150, and Daniel Estrada and company provided excellent customer service. Daniel listened to what I wanted, showed me my options, and in fine detail, explained to me the differences in those options. Although I didnt make a purchase right then and there, I was thankful for not getting the cold shoulder after they understood they werent going to make a sale right there and then. I have used Custom Sounds in the past for window tint and a few odds and ends. I recently went and had stereo system installed. Not only am I thrilled with my new bumps (JL AUDIO) but I am overly impressed by the amazing service I got. We came to pick out equipment and I was asked when I wanted to come back to have it installed. I explained that I live over an hour away and Mike said that they would do it for me that day. I had to wait a couple extra hours but it was 100% worth it. Mike was super friendly, listened to what I had to say and took into consideration my wants. I spent a pretty penny but got exactly what I wanted. He never pressured me to buy anything other than what I liked and spent over 2 hours in the sound booths with me while I made my decision. We had a great time socializing with all the staff and they even took me to the back to show me how they install works.I will continue to use Custom Sounds #11. They are awesome people and have great products!!!

Outstanding service! Antonio Hemingway took my order to tint the front two windows of my car. Showed me what was available and demonstrated what each film achieved. Made an appointment for the next morning. Arrived at 10 AM, was greeted by Brandon Mulvey who checked me in and got a tech working on it. Was driving home before 11 with windows that looked like they came from the factory. I highly recommend their work.

11/23 Update:I dropped off my car at Custom Sounds this week and they determined that the system was installed correctly but a dedicated remote turn-on cable from the unit to the amp was missing so they wired that cable and now everything is working correctly. Before that was done, the LC2i unit that was installed was used for the sensing. Why this wasnt done that way beforehand beats me. I made an appointment for that day but had to wait over an hour at the location before they would even work on my car. They couldnt find my record from the prior installation despite seeing clearly that they installed all the components prior. A new person that recently started there tried to help me but he had no clue and wast trained yet on anything. I had to pay them to fix this. Overall, terrible experience and I wont be going back or referring others.-----------I had them install an amp and a sub in my trunk and a year later, my battery is dead. The tech at Audi told me that the amp wasnt installed correctly in that it doesnt always shutdown and that it drains the battery. After a week of having the car at Audi without turning it on, it would not turn anymore. Net, this caused extensive damage to my battery and the Audis MMI system. $465 for a new battery and troubleshooting is the result if Custom Sounds not installing my system correctly. :-(

I was having a camper van built and I needed a good solid AV system installed and chose Custom Sounds on Burnet Rd. in Austin to do it.Matt Graef was my contact at CS and, after I explained what I was looking for, he came back with multiple recommendations and then patiently answered all my questions till we came up with the final design. The installation was done on schedule and as promised. Yes, there were a couple of glitches but they were handled without hesitation and to my satisfaction.Working with Matt and Custom Sounds was a good experience and I would do it again.

I called Custom Sounds about having a Radar Detector installed (hardwired) in my 2014 Corvette. I was told it would be $55. When I got there the final price ballooned to $117. I was also told that it would take 2-4 hours. Jim, the sales person said I dont want to rush on this car, I want to make sure it is done right. So I handed over my keys and went for a walk. The total time to complete the install was about 2.5 hours. I got back to the store after about 2 hours and there was no where to sit and wait. Yes, I stood around for 30 minutes.I got my car back, reviewed the work and went home. The next day, while cleaning my car, I found a small plastic panel under the drivers seat. They had forgot to replace the panel after the install. I could not believe it. I called and spoke to Jim. Jim told me that I could return to have it looked at and replaced. Jim asked me to give him a call 30 minutes before I arrived. I was not able to make it during the week. I called on Sunday and asked for Jim. The person that answered the phone said that Jim was busy and asked if he could help. I explained my problem and he told me to hold on a second and put me on hold. When he came back on the phone, he cited Jim as saying he told me that was for last week and that they were having a garage sale and all of the bays were full and they could not do it for me that day.I told him that last week is when they did the work and it would have been nice if they had done it right the first time.The guy was short in his response and the fact that Jim could not take a moment to take the call or call me back has left me deciding to pay another installer to replace the panel.Needless to say I will never return to Custom Sounds for anything. Not even to let them finish the job they failed to complete in the first place.

Salesman tried to get me to purchase a more expensive tint job. I couldnt afford much right now, especially with xmas. Salesman says ok. Go to the counter to enter my info and he says he can offer the higher quality package for $20 less. Again I said no, my wife was already mad that I was spending the money on it as is. Salesman says I feel ya. I go sit in the lounging area for 20-30 minutes. Salesman comes in and says its gonna be about $30-$40 more for the package I wanted since I wanted limo on the back doors. Id been there an hour. To me it seemed the wanted me to say oh, well I might as well get the better quality package if its gonna be that much more. Like said Id been there for an hour for nothing. I dont recommend CS&T, not this location anyway.

LIARS! EVERYTHING THEY SAID WAS A LIE!I called on Friday to ask about the advertised Bluetooth radio special. They told me that once purchased it would take 20 minutes to install. Recommended I come around 11:30AM on Saturday when the rush had died down. I go in at 11:30AM and was shown the stereo, but was told it wasnt any good and I should really get this one. It was $30 more, but was way better. I agreed and they worked up the cost. It was $350! I told them that I didnt want to spend that much and $300 was my cap, and they magically decided it was $300. They then told me it would be 2 hours. They were busy so I said I understood and that I would go for a walk and check out some other shops.I called two hours later and asked how much longer it was going to be, and they told me they just started on it and it would be two hours. I was agitated, but tried to remain calm. I explained that I wasnt happy it was going to take 4 hours after the original 20 minute timeline. Their reply was simply that they were busy. I begin to walk back to their location, and as I approached I noticed my car was sitting in the parking lot. I walked up to it and sure enough it hadnt moved. I walked in and they knew I had caught them in a lie. I told them I didnt want their service and to give me my key back. They proceeded to walk me out of the building (like I had done something wrong), and said they apologized for the inconvenience. I told them I wasnt about inconvenience. It was about truth and the fact they couldnt seem to tell it.

Work was good. Prices were fair. But service was slow and labor was a bit overpriced. Used them because of location conscience but probably will use a different place next time.UPDATE:Headunit that was installed was a lemon, but Custom Sounds replaced it with no labor costs and even let me switch to a brand I was more comfortable with. After that customer service, I feel much better about the integrity and quality of this business!

I wish places like this would have a decent selection, or encourage you to use the Internet to select a recommended system for installation.As it stands, the selection is poor, and with only a handful of in-stock high-end systems, the place is crawling with sales reps looking to score with your wallet.

Waiting for service for about 25 minutes. One employee was helping other customers acknowledge us but the other employee, the one with eye glasses, just walked around, pass us several times, acted he was too busy, didnt acknowledge and bother to help us. It felt like we didnt exist. We decided to take our money elsewhere. We are never coming back to do business here.

I have my own amp and subs, and I needed it installed . Over the phone they said installs for an amp usually are 85 dollars. So tell me why all i did was ask to have the subs installed too.( they are already in a box in the truck) and he prices me out at $605. Hahaha yeah right I can have it installed at a different location for $230. I might have been born at night ....but not last night. I do not reccomend this place they are definitely trying to rob you.

The S. Lamar store did us right with very knowledgeable staff that knew what was needed immediately for my car and listening habits. When there was a slight issue with the unit, they fixed it the next day. They did not presssure sell and the price was reasonable for the unit and installation. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 was that they took about 1.5 hours longer than they said. I was late to my next appointment. Make sure you leave plenty of time when scheduling.

I Just had the same experience as the gentleman below. I made an afternoon appt. And had somebody follow me to the shop because I was told I needed to drop my car off. After choosing my tint, I was told that if someone didnt call me then to come back @645p to pick my car up. I stayed home the rest of my Saturday anticipating a call soon and didnt receive one. I spent $20 on a Lyft to have me there @645p as requested. Waited around only to be told that my car wasnt worked on at all and the person doing the tint left. I was given the option to come back the next day which i declined. I already invested 5 hrs and $20 on my Saturday. If theyre consistently this irresponsible before doing the work then there is no chance the work is going to be good or the customer service after the fact if I ever need to go back. I will take my $$$ elsewhere.
