TVC Houston doesn’t exist. You have to setup an appointment for everything. Your better off dealing directly with the VA. I will be contacting my representative about this waste of state funds.

If I could give them a -5 I would they have not helping one bit nor gave me updates on claims because I’ve been in the VA system for two years I have not had a single thing done besides x-rays and getting told to take 2000 mg of ibuprofen or Tylenol and this is very disturbing because I had to quit my job because of them because I have so much pain in my back my hips and my knees and they’re not doing a single thing for the VA care side in the VA commission side which I reached out to a couple months ago and haven’t heard a single thing. And Gary did not return my phone call the first time I called and he’s probably not gonna turn my next phone call I left him a voicemail twice. If you can get a different person to pretty much sponsor you besides Texas veteran commission I’ll do it I already called DAV for that!

Do your self a favor and just dont. You will only find yourself more frustrated and have to deal with them and the VA. I ended up having to re-file on my own again.

So far the TVC has been extremely responsive and caring. The 2 reps I have worked with have gone out of their way to help me with my claims.

Very ignorant of the entire va process. Ive only spoken with 2 representatives that were out of the El Paso office and both were giving me uneducated and inaccurate information that was blatently incorrect. The first one tried telling me theres no such thing as a 5 year rule when I was reading the information right in front of me. The second guy must have been new because he kept having to ask his boss every question I had and was still giving me inaccurate information. This guy was trying to tell me that the reason the VA denied one of my claims is because I didnt have a diagnosis at the time I filed the claim. The VA claimed a totally different reason but I found his answer very misinformed because you would think aVSO would know the difference between a fully developed claim and a claim that needs to be evaluated, diagnosed, then rated I would not trust these people with your claim. The only advantage they have is the ability to access the VA system that vets cant access themselves.

One of my career advisors ended up screaming at me over the phone. Trying to lodge a complaint about this unprofessional behavior was an exercise in futility.

Texas Veterans Commission in Corpus Christi - Mo and Red do an excellent job of helping us Vets! I got the run around for 8 yrs from the VA and Mo got my claim settled in 30 days! What a great group to help the Vets-I have taken several Vets to them and they have all got the same results- Nobody cares like Mo and Red In Corpus!

The VA should take a page from TVC. The VA tried to tell me to go away because it was getting past 3:30 after they wasted my time for 20 minutes. As I was leaving Michael Munoz politely said sir I can help you now. When I sat in his office he was ready right away. He asked me my social and fixed my whole problem within 30 seconds! He made me feel important and welcome. He obviously enjoys his job because hes so good at it! Call him if you need to update your benefits. Do not go to the VA benefits counselor. Even the benefits counselor at the VA said he would take up to 2 years to update information vs immediately with the TVC.

They did nothing for me. They took my info, told me to fill out a database, then go away. I became homeless after trying them for the third time in July 2019. No job, no disability compensation, no car, nothing.

Years ago it seems the Tx Veterans Commission really cared about their vets at least in San Antonio. But in Temple at the VA hospital, I would not ever use the Texas Veterans Commission again. I imagine there are still a few who do but where are they now?Recently a Texas Veterans Commission Rep got home Depot Foundation to help me with my home. She wrote a beautiful letter and Home Depot agreed to work on my home. I am 100 % disabled. Home Depot come out, took measurements and said they would work on my home. What I didnt know was that the Texas Veterans Rep. who wrote to the home Depot Foundation quit her job right afterwards. The next rep who took her place was only there a few days. He said to me, I dont think the Home Depot Foundation needs to work on your home, all they need to do is widen the doorways This person has never been to my home. He has no idea what they needed to do. He took it upon himself to go down to Home Depot and tell them not to work on it. Just widen the door ways. It use to be the Texas Vet. Commission worked for us. Before all this came to into play with the second person who was there for two days, I saw an assistant manager who said, we just got out of a long meeting, you will not believe what we are going to do to your house. You will not recognize it at all. Well after this so called Representative from the Texas Veterans Commission who took it upon himself to go down to Home Depot and cancel what they were going to do with my home I want to thank the jerk for being an idiot. I will get his name later so that people will not use this guy. The lady who first did my claim was a great asset to Texas Veterans Commission. I guess they hire anyone off the street now to supposedly represent you. If I were you, I would NEVER use the Texas Veterans Commission. Better think twice before you use them.

If you know nothing about the VA claims process. These guys can do stuff for you. However, when they represent you, they do not coordinate their actions with you and will do whatever they think is best.50% of the time that might be good for you. 50% not. Dont expect them to be able to explain things to you or coordinate actions.Sadly, I can not recommend them as a VSO.

Little bit of a wait time for a VSO but fast and efficient once youre working with a counselor. Employment services are outstanding if you use the advice and know what youre looking for!

The State of Texas, new for this year 2017, made it so any 100% veteran owned business get some great benefits. One of the things that has to be done to make that happen is prove you were honorably discharged. So they require a letter from the TVC. Upon calling them, I learned you have to request the letter via email, which I did. TWICE. 3 weeks, no response. I then called the boss up in Austin. Nothing No call back, Zero. Its a paycheck for them, and a small one at that. So why should they CARE?

Very unprofessional towards customers, hard to reach for service issues concerning their website. They seem very unresponsive to assist the customer, especially towards veterans. My father a 30 year vet had a difficult time signing my brother up for his authorized benefits on a few attempts.Register is not user friendly. Need to resolve the process.
