Jim McFarland at Realty Austin is just incredible. He’s kind, he’s patient, he isn’t pushy, and he fights like heck for his clients. My husband and I have been looking for our first home for over a year and have started and stopped the process multiple times (each time lowering our budget and getting more clear on what we were looking for). Each time I asked Jim to show us a few places, he was ready, willing, and EXCITED to go around with us. We had multiple occasions where we’d be ready to make an offer and then get a feeling that it wasn’t right, and on one occasion, we were under contract and backed out after a really freaky inspection report.Jim never made us feel bad or like we’d wasted his time, and when we did finally get all of our ducks in a row for the final search, he was ecstatic to be on our team. He helped us make a deal that we were comfortable with and advocated for us until the very end, making sure that we got everything we needed. Jim even went so far as to recommend contractors to help us take care of some issues like popcorn ceilings, painting, and roofing, and every person in his contractor network is punctual, kind, and a joy to work with. He’s also just a heck of a lot of fun to look at houses with and has an eye for things like remodeling and decorating. Jim never hesitated to offer ideas on what we could do with a certain layout or dream with us about how we could make each space our own.Plus, if you’re looking with a little one, he’s amazing with kids and isn’t put off by toddler-y stuff! In fact, he always made an effort to try to make our daughter smile and was so thoughtful in giving us a closing gift with her in mind. We trust Jim implicitly, and I would recommend him to ANYONE looking for a home, in any size, budget, or zip code in the area. If you need a new place, he’s your guy, 100%!

Jim was patient and flexible during the house hunting process - which was great because we were still discovering what we wanted in a home and what was available in our price range. He was helpful and available at the times we asked to see homes. He was respectful when we changed our minds. He never pressured us. He negotiated with the seller and got us a lower price. He followed up well on the details of moving to the home and kept us in the loop. He is trustworthy and all around a great guy to work with. We are super happy with the home we are in and would recommend Jim to our friends.
