Oftentimes the name of a business or Enterprise, professional entity, what have you and the name of such organizations do not reflect or accurately portray their true essence as in the case of Federal Express not being an actual Federal entity; in this case however, Integral Care and more specifically the word Care could never have been more accurately applied to reflect an organization and more specifically Safe Haven of which I was a client for some time as a homeless veteran... I can tell you first hand theres much caring and theres much safety and there truly is a Haven that exists where professionals actually CARE and achieve positive change.

What a waste for VA funding for this facility. Place is funded by the VA to offer help to homeless veterans thru hard times, like assist with VA benefits, medical care and housing. They did absolutely nothing to assist me with obtaining VA benefits and help locate housing. Instead of helping responsible veterans who fell on hard times through medical reasons--lost their job and found themselves homeless ATCIC will justify the VA funding by focusing on other matters like bringing in people that have no interest in trying improve their living needs and not worried about their situation so that gives Safe Haven easy managed process for their exit to keep that VA money rolling. Typical VA operation easily push aside veteran’s medical care and needs and keep their VA motto if we wait long enough they will go away. Safe Haven has a Case manager that manages a load of over a dozen veterans, a blue ribbon prize for a losing performance in communicating effectively and focusing on the needs and wants of each veteran. A chef on board as well, yes a chef that’s never reliable to come in to work and prep meals so Safe Haven staff is forced to serve cereals or frozen food products to veterans. VA funding transportation vehicles for travel to bring veterans to their VA appointments that is NOT being accomplish. VA waste of money here/ funding a place that serves no purpose in the Austin area. If you’re a veteran seeking assistance recommend you seek other VA resources and programs that will take care of your needs.
