As an absolute beginner they really were kind, helpful and happy to stay at my level. They didnt talk down to me and respected me. They pushed when it was time and also let me rest. Friendly and ready to work.

I was curious and wanted to check out this place, the other day I had the opportunity to train there and it was really good. A lot of friendly high raking belts willing to training hard. Mat was super clean and Paulo was very receptive.

I’m new to Jiu Jitsu and they have a free class every Saturday. It’s a great opportunity to dip your toes or bring a friend. Also they have a punchcard system so you can get good bang for your buck going to some free classes amidst the paid ones.Instruction is clear and new students are given a lot of attention to help them get off the ground.Definitely recommend!

Professor Paulo Brandao is an amazing Jiu-jitsu instructor. Very knowledgeable and experienced in both self defense and competition at the highest levels! I started training with him in 2014 and drive 6 hours to visit his school. Gracie Humaita Austin has a very big mat area, always cleaned and sanitized with spacious changing rooms. He always has a plethora of tough black belts that not only train but help lead and instruct the newer students. To me this is the only place i go to in the Austin area. Martial arts are my life and i Love that GH AUSTIN and Professor Brandao are a part of it! Thank you All!

Simply the best. The academy disseminates BJJ with a high level of professionalism and quality. Enrolling in BJJ and at the Gracie Humaitá Austin was one of the best decisions I made in my life. It drastically aggregated value to my life in such a short period of time. The bond one creates with other students - from higher belts to lower belts - is unprecedented to his or her personal experience. Great facility, great partners and great staff. Got invited to roll for a separate class. All the members I met with were welcoming and inviting. Im a noob, so, I was a little nervous about going into a new place. I was made to feel completely at ease in a just a few minutes. Respect and humility abound. Ill be back! said in my best T2 voice. I was visiting Austin last week for a few days and stopped at Gracie Humaita Austin for some training. Very glad I went there. The gym is big, the mats clean, and everyone there was friendly and welcoming. Everyone I rolled with had solid jiu jitsu and you can tell they receive top level instruction. I highly recommend this place to anyone in Austin looking to train or even just to get some training while visiting. I look forward to visiting again when Im in the area.
