WFS Burleson is an excellent one-stop job hunting resource. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and wonderfully patient. The resource center includes phones, bus schedules, a wealth of online tools, and anything else you might need to get your employment search rolling. The Work In Texas search hub does a better job of matching your skills to open jobs than many commercial sites. Goodwills Excel Center and training center are adjacent and can provide all kinds of additional support. Ive seen people in here find a job in one hour. Highly recommended.

Great place to find a job! Even when their system was down, they provided help and resources. They always have employers ready to hire people. Great experience, I will be recommending this place to everyone! They offer different workshops. The only bad thing, parking is an issue.

This office is a joke- I have to say these Texas Workforce Offices are better to be shutdown then providing the not-so-nice people who work there with paychecks. I have met 2-3 people there who are helpful but you really got to go through the bathwater to find helpful people. The photocopy machine is on its last leg- they offer no free resume paper... And when you call and ask a question make sure that you record it if it is important to you and also get the persons name who gave you the info. because when you ask the next person, you will most likely get a different answer. The nice Assistant Manager who was new just left- tells you something bout the place- the management is poor and the director hires all his buddies or keeps them afloat- some being pathetic workshop tutors. Better to get a resume building book and also go to the free services offered in East Austin at the local Church there- they will be a lot better in educating you on what to do to find a job in Austin. Workforce is serving itself, not the public and if they really wish to help people then help those people improve their writing and speaking skills so they can get a job. They have only one tutor for resume classes and he is on his last leg and near retirement so I do not mean to be discriminatory about age but they really need younger blood and both men and women teaching classes who are experienced and understanding of the present job market challenges. Also classes should be participatory and people working in groups, not a tutor who acts like they are all-knowing and what they say is GOD. Come on this is 2011, not the 1940s... I guarantee you will get better unemployment services in the Democratic States.

The staff rocks at the south center every staff member helps clients to achieve their ultimate goals for job readiness and becoming self sufficient. I participate in a program as well as a few others in order to help me become the best version of myself. Id like to give a special thanks to Ms. Bibiana this nice lady has exceeded my expectations of what a role model looks like . I cant forget Ms. Opal for doing the same . Ms.Pru , Ms.Therisa, Ms.Esmie, Mr.Roberto , Mr.Kelvin ,Mr.Sheldon and Ms.Nora .Without them the links to the puzzle would not fit. Keep up the good work guys

Pure and Vilma were stellar, prompt, understanding and kind. I overheard some ridiculous customers lashing out at them because of their own stupidity and they somehow deflected it all and turned it around to a positive experience.

One of the under-the-radar organizations that is working to help Austinites find new/better jobs is the Workforce Solutions Center – South (6505 Burleson). This group of dedicated staff provides a warm, supportive cocoon to nurture those in search of a better life. Staff members are patient, knowledgeable about the work scene (including City/State/area school districts as well as big and small employers), and creative in how to work with other non-profits (Goodwill, Dress for Success, ACC, and others) to help individuals achieve their goals.WFC-South’s staff can work with those who are new to using computers as well as those who are highly skilled. Staff is knowledgeable of those employers who are second chance employers as well as those who have flexible hours. Staff members are relentless in ferreting out how to find employment with the vast array of employers in the Greater Austin area.If you are job hunting this is a place that provides you with not only the tools – computers, copiers, fax machines – needed, but also a supportive environment that will keep you going.

These caseworkers do not have their stuff together so unorganized! And some don’t even care to help people so idk why they even work here. I’ve been needing assistance with child care and they’ve had me running around in circles for a month with what I need. One minute they have everything and then the next they need something else. I’ve been told 3-4 different times by 2 or more caseworkers that I need to provide wage verification by my employer. They apparently never received the form I had my employer signed and never received the fax I had to send out of a typed verification signed by my employer. Then to top it off they keep giving me deadlines to get certain things done or threaten to close my case when they are the ones who keep making it hard for me to keep up with them. JUST when I think they have everything and I can move forward and just focus on looking for a daycare with an opening they tell me they need something else I’ve already given them. It’s already hard enough to find a daycare that has an opening. I had one daycare call me and tell me to verify they were assisting me and then to call back and I LOST that spot for my child because of WFS not having their stuff together. Hire better people or more people because they obviously can’t handle what’s given to them ... so damn frustrating.EDIT 12/20/18So a different person at WFS called me regarding my review a few days after regarding my experience. My caseworker gave me more time and straightened out all the miscommunications. Overall I think this program is a work in progress. & need to just give ppl more time to find providers as finding availability is the main issue. I’m finally with a provider who i semi like but i will change as soon as a better option arises.
