I cant say enough positive things about Austin MacWorks. After the Apple Store repairs left me high and dry, this amazing team came to my rescue with speed, efficiency, empathy and professionalism. I also witnessed the team of employees exhibit patience and care with assisting multiple customers in their friendly neighborhood corner store model. THIS is what great customer service looks like!

Staff was courteous and it was easy to schedule a drop off for a keyboard replacement in a macbook pro. However, the next day I was informed that I would be charged $379 for the keyboard replacement, while Apple Support had made it very clear that the replacement was fully covered. Ended up refusing the repair, but still had to pay a diagnostic fee of $69. Took the computer to the Apple Store and they fixed it for $0, including delivering it directly to our house.I try to support local stores, but the difference in price between this place and Apple itself is too steep. I would definitely try the Apple Store first for any repair.

I bought a new Imac to upgrade my 8 year old one. Srini and his crew did an excellent job helping find the appropriate new computer for my business. Once the computer arrived from Apple, they were quick to accurately migrate the data from my old computer to the new one. There was very little I had to do to get started with the new computer. I was relieved that I didnt have to set up each individual application again. It is worth it to buy your computer from MacWorks as opposed to the Apple store because you have a great team of experts to help you after your purchase.

I know it’s COVID era and their services are in higher demand than usual, but the staff was rude and unprofessional every time I interacted with them. They gave me no updates as to the status of my laptop repair unless I called and demanded it. I am very disappointed and hesitant to pay the lofty service fee to this establishment. When I expressed such concern, the employee said that “if I’m not happy with their service I can pick my laptop up and seek service elsewhere”.

I just had the best experience at Austin Mac Works on Mopac Expressway. First off the atmosphere is very down to earth and it was not a the sensory overload experience that the apple store is for me. The folks in the store were very straightforward and I felt like I could trust their guidance. My water bottle unfortunately spilled on my closed computer and it was enough to ruin it and it would not turn on. Luckily they were able to retrieve my data and upload it on a new computer in one day! I am so very grateful and highly recommend them!

I called to get my phone repaired because theyre authorized by Apple, but instead of offering to diagnose my phone, the kid who answered when I called just flat out said theyd have to send it in to Apple (and thus leaving me without a phone but at least 10 days). I took it to Best Buy (another authorized Apple repair center) and they diagnosed it and gave me options: 1) wait until my new phone comes in or 2) call Apple and have them send a replacement to my house. I opted for option number 2.

Currently frustrated with the service. Happy to change the review if things change when I finally get my device back.Macbook suddenly stopped turning on- all of the apple stores are closed, so Apple recommended I go here. ( I wish I had just mailed it to apple instead)When I drop off my device they tell me it will 10 business days before getting it back. After those 10 days ( having heard nothing from them) I reach out and they tell me they havent looked at it yet.I call the next day and they say I need to check my email and that they asked me to turn off Find my mac so that they could send it to apple ( I wish I had just sent to apple in the first place). I checked my email and there was an email from them from that morning. I turned it off and replied that it was done and asked if they could update what they are finding. No Response. More time goes by and I call again. They say apple has it, but that it should be done on Monday or Tuesday. I call on on Tuesday and get told it should be done Thursday. Now today ( Thursday) I call again and get told that it isnt done- nor has any work been done on it. That my apple care wouldnt cover it. However I have Apple care + so it should be covered. The guy on the phone realizes this and then says he is going to check with apple and that he will call me back.Hopefully he does actually call me back- but I am leaning more on that I will have to call and explain again over the phone. But we will see- If I do actually get a call back- I am happy to raise my review.I brought it to them so that it could be fixed faster than originally mailing to apple since this is my primary work computer and how I support myself. If they had known in the first place ( like they did) that it would need to be sent to apple, then they should have informed me of this, so that instead of just sitting at their office for days, I could have sent it directly and dealt with apple directly. Now I am having to deal with Austin Mac Works as the middle man, ( which they are failing at). I understand that repair times are longer due to apple stores being closed and covid 19- but the least they could do is be upfront and communicate with me about the status of my computer in a timely fashion. If you are reading this and are in a similar situation- do not bring it here- just mail it to apple. It will save you some stress.

Came into the shop to see if my 2015 MacBook Air had a chance of survival after a serious tea spill. The team was super nice, helpful, honest when it came to the verdict. They could have easily charged me a ton of money to repair my laptop, but they were upfront about the fact that the investment simply wasn’t worth it. Five stars for honesty, expertise, and great customer service.

I finally decided to upgrade my MacBook pros HDD to a SSD. I used time machine on a Samsung QVO 860 1TB. Everything was fine until I went to start the Mac. It would get stuck/froze on the loading screen. I ended up putting in the original HDD until I could figure out the issue. After several calls with Apple they couldn’t tell me anything. I called Samsung and they said my MacBook had a recall on the sata cable unibody. After reading on online forums majority of people said it was the sata cable. So I called Macworks and asked how much it would cost. After about 10 minutes on the phone with Milo, he said that it sounded like my sata cable was good and to try erasing the new SSD and installing the OS first and then using Migration Assistant to transfer all my data to the new SSD. Hours later.... and my MacBook Pro is running fast like a brand new MacBook. Such a simple issue that Milo was able to diagnose and fix on the phone with me! Highly recommend Austin Macworks.

Obviously I cant share my account password when you ask over an email which contains all my personal data. You should build a process to make sure you are getting all the details what you need when we hand over the mac, not after 1 week.At least if you apologised for the mistake in store then I would have been ok because mistakes do happen, we all human, but instead you guys were framing me for not giving the password over email. On the cost, this is in AppleCare, so dont B*

Wild rip-off. If youre going here make sure you also get a second opinion. Told me a price before even taking the laptop out of my hands. They told me the entire motherboard would need to be replaced for $875 and tried to sell me a new laptop instead. Left and got a second opinion, they actually opened the laptop and the motherboard is completely perfect, the only damage was to the on/off button. Saved HUNDREDS by getting a second opinion. AVOID even if Apple tells you to go here, plenty of other authorized retailers that are honest and dont make assumptions on work to be done before using their eyes to evaluate the issue.

This place has been absolutely awful to work with. Dropped my computer off and was told it would be a few days to know the problem and order parts. Kept checking in and they kept increasing the time, claiming they never told me a few days. 2 weeks later, they tell me they finally checked the device and have to send it to Apple for repair. Wish they would have done that from the start. Get the laptop back after a total of 3 weeks, open it up, and they had only fixed one of the two problems I hired them to repair. Dont waste your time with them.

To sum up, they seem very disorganized and distracted and slow.I went into this place after finding out that there was a replacement battery program for my phone which was having problems. My main hope was that I would be able to have my phone fixed quickly and not have to make an appointment for the Apple Store. I came in around 12-1 on a Wednesday. I spoke with several of their employees. The guy who fixes these problem was due later that day but not in at that time. I gave them my contact info and serial number of my phone so they could do the background work to minimize the time I had to be without my phone. 4pm the next day come around and no call back. I called them back and the guy was not in again. They took my info again and ended the call. I get a call at 6pm from Jose and he seems distracted and also seems not to have any previous info that I had given them. He tells me that there are no appointment openings before Monday and that I would have to leave my phone for 2-3 hours for a diagnostics to see if my phone qualified for the battery replacement program. I had already verified that my phone was eligible on Apples site and it had taken all of 2-3 minutes. So I choose not to continue with their service because the Apple store could get me in sooner. Maybe getting another guy that works at just one location would stop problems like this in the future. The reason there are 2 stars is because the people in the store were nice and tried to be helpful.
