Had a terrific experience my first time at JC’s.Unfortunately on my second trip I was recently denied service. I sanitized, wore my mask, and waited my turn patiently! Barber did not want deal with a customer whose hair was curly.The barber said they couldn’t cut my hair — has not been a issue for previous, more professional barbers.This is not service is not consultative, nor is it kind.EDIT to business reply:Your shop DOES NOT cater to nor is it welcoming to all hair types, styles as you said; feel free to remove this from your reply as it’s a lie!As communicated to the barber, I did not have product in my hair. I don’t use product or gel. I have curly hair. Again, this is why I was REFUSED service. Before driving over to your shop I took a shower— I had thought yours was a barber shop that cared about cleanliness; but hey I thought you were a shop that would give me a haircut & that was wrong. My curly hair was wet & for this no service? No collaboration to get the job done? No on-the-spot problem solving? Sad.There’s no reason to return to your shop — ever. JC’s is a barber shop that won’t cut my hair, you can’t possibly believe there will be a future visit

This is a clean and well sanitised Barber shop. JC is very experienced on all types of hair. Shes very professional and took great lengths to ensure that everyone coming in was following strict Covid protocols to ensure everyones safety. She opens later than most barbers on a Saturday-8pm-which helped us find her.

I moved to Austin from Houston back in September 2020 - separating with my barber of 11 years. JC did an awesome job cutting my hair today. Im very glad I found this place and will be returning.

First-time customer here, but first experience was great! The haircut came out perfectly. The fade is perfect and everything is uniform. I didnt ask how much it would be ahead of time, but the charge was $20 and I was shown the amount with buttons to add a tip (so didnt have a tip added in on purpose like other reviews have stated).There was no wait when I came in (probably things are still slow from coronavirus.) By the way, they do a good job here taking precautions. Patrons and employees wear masks, theres hand sanitizer when you first walk in, they check your temperature, and they clean everything between patrons.

Good price for the quality of the haircut. Yes, you can find a cheaper cut out there, but you get what you pay for.

My first haircut was alright, nothing special but was cheap. I went back because I liked the idea of a 15 dollar haircut again, and the severe language barrier prevented me from getting what I want. I told her initially, went through the whole haircut (without my glasses), then had to redescribe it two more times until I gave up and just said yes and fixed it at home. I mean, with the popularity of the pompadour, how does she not know what Im asking for? She did a sketchy thing with the debit card and I think she tipped herself on my card.

Good hair cut for a good price. BUT be very careful with payment procces. Like someone said before - she adds a tip without your permission. She told me its $15 over the phone but when the job was done $15 became $20. Even tho the guy before me with very similar hair cut paid $17. When the card was charged it had no tip option. All she said is thank you and when I asked where is the tip field she had to cancel the transaction and go all the way back to change the amount from $20 to $25. So before you sit in that chair ask her HOW MUCH? Despite all that she gets 5 stars on her job be cause it was beautiful and quick. Highly recommend, just dont be fooled. It worth a try. Lol

Their hours say they open at 9. I showed up at 9:10. There are a few cars parked around but the door is locked and no one answers when I knock. I will have to go elsewhere

I would agree with the previous reviews, she told me the haircut was 15 dollars before I got into the chair and before she charged my card, and when leaving a tip, I told her I would leave her 5 dollars. When the payment went through, my bill on my bank account said $22.00.Lying and stealing from a first time customer is bad for business, I will not be back again, unfortunately.
