In town for a long weekend and our BMW started overheating. The owner went out of his way to get the car fixed so we could get home. He was also great about explaining what was wrong and what he wanted to do. Cant say enough about how knowledge and helpful they were here.

My 04 330 convertible has been my baby since new, and I am very picky about service. Lee and Josh were nothing but outstanding, both diagnosing an annoying rattle and handling the maintenance and repairs that an 18 year old car needs. What I liked the most about Black Forest Werkshop (BFW) was the following:1. Education. The owner educated me about what was going on with my car. He even pointed out the issue while the car was lifted. He took me to an engine and showed me some other things about what was going on and explained to me more about the thermostat issues and more about how the MINI Engine operates.2. The BFW Shop. His shop was clean and organized. It almost looked just as good as the MINI dealership. I love nice and righty places.3. The Staff. All of his employees’ behavior, mannerisms, attitude, and dialogue were those from. Great leader. Everyone was kind, calm, patient, informative and positive.4. The last and most important piece of this sweet pie was the Customer Service. The owner gave me a ride to a local diner for a place to eat and work. I ended up staying at Waterloo Icehouse from 9 am until 3:30 pm. He came back to pick me up!!! I mean dude who does that!???If you want a place to trust to work on your MINI Cooper, go to Black Forest Werkshop. If you want to learn more about the best customer service...you know what to do.

Since my Minis no longer under warranty, today was my first time taking it to a new shop. Everyone at Black Forest was so attentive and informative; throughout the entire process they let me know what they found my car would need, how much it would cost, and how long itd take. Everything was completed faster than I thought and it even came in slightly under the estimated cost. The mechanic worked through his lunch break to take care of my car and even washed it for me. I couldnt be more pleased with my experience here, and Ill definitely be coming back for future maintenance and upkeep.

I have never received such good service, consideration and compassion. Chris was very attentive and polite and even prioritized what I needed to have done to the car so that my daughter and I were safe but I could put off paying for everything all at once. I will never go anywhere else again!

Great Service experience!! Brought my wifes Cooper S in for a carbon cleaning and checking out a few other issues. I do a lot of my own service work, but did not want to tackle this job. I contacted several other Mini shops in Austin and none of them used the proper cleaning procedure that is needed to do it right. The process that Black Forest uses is the right way and I could tell an immediate improvement in performance.Lee and Chris were very knowledgeable and easy to deal with. They didnt try to sell me anything my car didnt need. I have found a Mini shop that I can trust and will definitely use them in the future

I called the shop 1st thing in the morning and asked if they were busy because I wanted to have my oil changed and pads/rotors changed. They said no problem, we can have it done by this afternoon (1st lie). I dropped off the car at 9:00am, they confirmed they would have it done by the afternoon (2nd lie). At 3:00pm I hadnt heard anything, so I called them, they said they were busy and havent touched it yet, they could do the work the next day. I explained i needed my car that afternoon and not to start work on it I would come and get it. The owner called me back and offered the loaner, i turned him down and said i was coming to get my car and reiterated not to do any work on my car, he said he understood (3rd lie). I got to the shop 30-40 minutes later and was handed a $100 invoice for an oil change. I asked why since I had told them multiple times not to do any work on the car. The guy responed it was up on the jacks so we quickly did the oil change (4th lie). The short version of the story is... they knew they had lost a customer because they over-promised and under delivered, so they tried to get a little money out of me before I went to a different shop.

I was in an accident in my BMW in august and progressive insurance sent it to the body shop that they choose. I got my car back in September and started to have some issues with it and I thought that is might have been related to the accident so with progressive have a lifetime warranty on the replacement parts, I took it back to the collision center. They could not figure out what was wrong with it so they sent it to Black Forest. Let me tell you, Lee and the people over at Black Forest have been nothing but nice to me. They have exceptional customer service and take the time to explain step by step what they are doing and how things are going. Lee is a very honest and forth right person and I would recommend him to anyone. I appreciate what he has done for me and I will certainly be returning for service. Thanks Lee

Have you ever taken your car to get fixed and they fix it below the price they estimated?This is how honest and good the team at Black Forest Werkshop are!I had bought a used mini and after a few weeks it started leaking oil, yikes I thought! I was refereed to Black Forest by the previous owner and I was amazed at how great they treated me, then they said, it may be 500, 1000 up to 1500 depending on what they find when they get to the engine. Eureka, it was a loose bold on timing cover and cost me less than 400, and whats more is they were honest and so prompt on keeping me updated about it. Chris called me and I was so joyed to hear I didnt have to sink a grand on a new car!It was funny, the owner Lee told me, Well, a leak is usually a sign of a bigger problem In spite of the potential costs, I went ahead and took it in. Even my wife was like, are you sure baby, maybe we should wait? Not only did the price come in way lower than expected, and potentially avoided a disaster by the bolt flying out and causing more damage, but it was like the second time in our marriage my wife recognized I was right!Thank you Lee, Chris and the team at Black Forest Werkshop, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

If they treat cars the way they answer to your questions over the phone, I rather fix the car on my own! What a lack of customer empathy or customer service skills

Got an alignment and the service was incredibly fast. Staff is knowledgeable and courteous.

Lee was very honest with me from the get-go, which ultimately cost him a few grand in expensive repairs. I genuinely believe that he wants to help the driver make an informed and smart decision.

This shop charge me $210 and didnt fix/repair anything. Please check around before you go here. In my opinion I feel as though I was ripped off and Luxury Auto Works is a lot better shop. ZERO STARS for Black Forest Workshop if possibly.

Great experience with Lee - had him do a PPI and based on what I told him that I wanted/didnt want, he called me right away and gave me the honest low down on the car. Highly recommended even if you are out of state and looking for a PPI in the Austin area.

My 2001 330ci was lacking power and shut off when idling so I searched in Google and chose this shop for repairing it because it was near. The owner said that, to diagnose it, they would charge $80 but that money could be used later if I decided to repair it at the shop. I agreed and the said that the problem was a sensor in the cam exhaust. Total came out a bit over $200 so I went through with the repair. They did it the next day and I drove out of the shop that afternoon. Next morning the car had the same problem as before, shutting down and lacking power. I brought it back to the shop and told them that it was still having the same problem; the owner told me that for $80 run the diagnostics again. So not only had I paid for a repair that didnt solve my problem but they wanted to charge me again for a diagnosis that the guy already had done incorrectly! I drove off and looked form another shop and fortunately found one with excellent rating that lived of to it (Munich Auto) where the problem was solved on first try and they didnt even charge for diagnosis.

I have a 2002 BMW Z3M Coupe, and Ive been taking my car to Black Forest for quite some time now, whenever some issue pops up. I see other people on here complaining about the prices for repair, and either theyre just naive, or theyve never taken their car to an actual BMW dealer and tried to get work done out of warranty.The guys at Black Forest obviously know their BMWs, and to me the prices have been fair. I mean the cost is high, but fair in the grand scheme of things, and thats what you should expect, especially if you own a BMW thats one of the newer models that are no older than early 2000s. The parts arent cheap, and the only way youre going to bring labor costs down is by diy. Im just happy for the fact that parts and labor costs at their shop have been 25-50% cheaper than what it wouldve cost at a dealer. These arent Toyotas, so dont expect Toyota cheapness. They get the job done, and they do it at a much more reasonable price than what the dealers ask, and thats more than enough for me.Thanks for keeping my car running and allowing me to smile everytime I drive it!BT
