Greater Austin Music Academy is a wonderful music school with friendly staff. The facility is nice. There are lots of rooms with enough space so the other rooms aren’t distracting with leaking sound. The staff is very easy to work with schedule. They do a good job updating any changes. Overall, it’s a great place to learn music: spacious, great teachers and awesome staff.--yen

The team at the Greater Austin Music Academy is top notch! I spent over a year trying out different piano teachers, but just never found the right fit. My practice suffered. I came across GAMA online and gave them a call. I spoke with Matt about my goals/abilities/limitations and he suggested Eric Young. I am now in my third year of lessons with Eric (he’s fantastic) and my improvement has been dramatic. The GAMA team has it all—student recitals, free performance classes (all instruments, all levels), free composition workshops, faculty recitals. This is a school with something for everybody. I mean that—everybody. Oh, and it’s centrally located, easy in-and-out, and has plenty of parking (what???)! The Greater Austin Music Academy is a gem!

My daughter has had the privilege of studying classical piano with Matt for over three years. Matt provides a warm and encouraging environment in his studio and genuinely cares about his students. He is a talented pianist and effective instructor who is passionate about music and very knowledgeable about piano technique. Matt also knows how to navigate the college audition process and gives great advice on where to apply, what to play, and how to prepare. My daughter has made excellent progress under Matt’s teaching. Matt thoroughly prepared her for college auditions and helped her to gain acceptance to all of the music schools of her choice. I highly recommend Matt to people who are serious about improving their piano skills.

As a former music student at the Butler School, I want the best for my children. Matt has brought together an incredibly talented group of musicians that are the staff at the Greater Austin Music Academy. I could not be more pleased with the quality of instruction my girls receive. I highly recommend it.

I cannot say enough about the quality of the Greater Austin Music Academy. I received excellent instruction finely tuned (no pun intended) to my abilities and needs. I learned a broad range of skills to improve my piano playing--and as an adult! Im confident in the caliber of teachers at the Academy and am considering a second dive on a new instrument. If I decide to take the plunge, the good folks at Greater Austin Music Academy will definitely be my choice!

My daughter and I love this music school! If you want to love your music lessons in a really supportive setting look no further. The teachers are friendly and care about their students and the atmosphere is welcoming. They also have a ton of free events for students and recitals.

Matt is an extraordinary piano teacher. He is an accomplished performer but he also has studied teaching techniques and methods unlike other teachers. In taking lessons over a couple of year period my ability has improved remarkably and he is currently helping me with the beethoven sonatas. Matts teaching style is always helpful and gentle - not intimidating - but he knows the music and will get you to play it correctly. He also has a remarkable understanding of music theory and always points out interesting features of the music I am studying that I had completely missed.

Two of my teenage boys have been taking lessons at Greater Austin Music Academy (GAMA) since they opened in their first location. I cannot recommend GAMA highly enough. The teachers are top-notch, my kids look forward to every lesson, and the new location is great.

GAMAs been awesome to take lessons at. Their teachers are top-notch! Im still working with the same teacher I started with, but they are able to create make-up lessons and substitute in other teachers easily. They also have several types of special events for the students besides the recitals that one might expect. Theyve had jazz/pop/blues improv jams, performance workshops, and kids sing-a-long performances (with a live band!). Ive also been able to jump into one of their studios, if I find myself nearby with an hour to spare to get in my daily practice. Theyve always been really accommodating.

I have been taking piano lessons for two years from mutiple teachers. They are both fantastic teachers and are very flexible with my college schedule. The school also organizes free group lessons and performance classes. They recently moved to a brand new location and is amazing.
