This past summer I had the pleasure of working with the Workhorse team. Right off the bat I felt welcome and wanted, even though I was entering a company that I could tell was already close-knit during and after office hours. While I was immediately impressed by how welcoming everyone in the company was, it did not take long for me to realize how hard working and dedicated this group of people are. Everyone was in constant communication with those around them, working together to be efficient and to make sure their work was meeting the high expectations they set for themselves. Though I am a college student and was only there for the summer, I was treated like a valuable team member with my own responsibilities and opportunities to really learn all aspects of managing Social Media. From the seemingly simple task of making a Facebook post to sitting in on conference calls with clients, it was made clear to me how much detail and care is put in to every service Workhorse provides for their clients. And amazingly, with so much great work going on, Workhorse took the time to have fun! There was never a dull day at work, whether it was getting a visit from the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream truck or babysitting a bunny for the day! My time at Workhorse, while short, was indispensable experience and helped me discover what I look forward to finding in a company after graduating from the University of Texas: a job that I care about with people beside me making work feel less like work and more like pursuing a passion.
