Long winded review, Sorry.Got my daughter winter geared up a couple of weeks back. Coordinated between (travel to/from) three states: Florida, Oregon, and Colorado. Greg Ho***ay worked with me via phone from the beginning. Came in on his day off and made sure the fitting, gear selection, mounting, etc. went as smooth as possible with acute attention to details. The review isnt about the experienced convenience. The help was top notch. This was NOT the all too familiar experience of getting help from someone who was working at a shop for the gear and pass discounts. My daughter now has a complete set-up that will allow her to expand her skill set.Im not a frequent review writer. I complimented our experience to the location management and inquired who I should address a complimentary letter to. Here is the response to their suggestion. Big thanks to all. Success is all about people. Now, the snow just has to get here.

Friendly, convenient and reasonably priced place to rent ski gear. Being able to fill out all the information online was great and made the process even quicker. Plus they offer a discount when you reserve online. For ski equipment, there are three levels available from basic (which are still great) to high end demo packages. Returns were super simple. It helps that you can drop off the next day before noon without an extra charge.

Everyone here is SO friendly and helpful!! My friends and I are going snowmobiling this weekend and needed goggles - weve never been and had so many questions! DAVE was there to answer them all!! He really went above & beyond for us! He answered all of our questions, gave us tips, told us what things werent worth spending on as beginners. We even ended up staying like 30 minutes past closing (we didnt realize they closed at 7), but he never made us feel rushed and continued to provide excellent customer service!! He was so kind and genuine too! The young lady at the counter was also exceptional! We will definitely be coming back!! (:

We brought our 14-year-old daughter in to get skis fitted for their trade-in program. None of the boots they had in stock for the program we’re going to work for her. But we were able to get her fitted and boots and skis to purchase. The staff was very knowledgeable and patient with us. We also felt like during her boot fitting and ski purchasing the staff really worked hard to consider our budget while getting her the best gear.I will say January is not a good time to go in for the trade-in program. They had very limited stock and we ended up spending way more for our son than we had intended.

Terrible customer service. Had an issue with my sons ski binding that should have been caught by staff when we got skis but was not done. My son and I had to waste most of a ski day dealing with it on the mountain. When we took it back to Epic Mountain be fixed was told this was my fault and all they could do was rush a fix. After more waiting, it ends up that they could not fix the issue at all. After all this wasted time and money lost on lift tickets, The only compensation they could offer was to loan us rental skis. I have purchased many products from this store and expected better. I am disappointed in their lack of ownership regarding this issue.

I used to love the Colorado Ski/Golf stores. They usually had down-to-earth people, friendly, looking to just help others get out and enjoy Colorado. I stopped by this location for the first time since they were taken over by Vail/Epic, and hope to never step inside another Epic Mountain Great again in my life. Not only was the staff giving me wrong information on gear I somehow knew more about than they did, but they did it in a completely condescending way. It was obvious they were trying to sell me a subpar board they had excess of, and were willing to tell me wrong information to promote/sell me that board.I had also asked if certain boards were on sale for the holiday weekend, and these words came out of the salesmans mouth: ha, I dont see us putting these on sale any time soon, and Im not sure why we would ever put these boards on sale as we pretty much have the market cornered now.Always a great thing to tell your customer.Instead of shopping here, support another customer-oriented and/or local business like Eskimo, 720, Larsons or even REI - that doesnt have the market cornered.

The trade program only works if they will see you to swap them out, but appointments are REQUIRED and totally unavailable. If they have the whole day of adult appointments available and people standing around, they wont help you anyway.

This place was flat out fantastic. I worked with Tim (Timothy?) to get a whole new snowboard setup. I already felt bad for coming in at 6:15 when they closed at 7:00 (being THAT guy), but was immediately and enthusiastically greeted. Tim took the time to measure out my feet and hear my concerns to get the perfect boot fitted, and walked me through some different board and binding options and features to let me feel out what would be best for my riding style. Even though I stated early that I just wanted the best at whatever cost, he still pointed me to some other compatible options to consider that would save some money. Even if it leaves a bad taste in your mouth that it’s owned by Vail Corp, the customer service MORE than makes up for it. It even came out slightly cheaper than buying online with some discounts, but you can’t put a price on a great customer experience anyway. Thanks Tim!

I came in asking for a one day rental. I was charged a day and a half when checking out. When I asked them to correct it the manager called over, Sam, told me it was my fault because of what time i had told them i would return the skis. But i has never told them, I specifically had to ask when there returns were due back. Once again the only time frame I gave was for a one day rental and was told the charge is $27 for that one day (plus helmet and damage waiver) but then got charged by the same clerk for 1.5 days.In the end, i got them to remove the extra charges but not without me agreeing to return by 5pm on my ski day rather than noon the next day (as told was the due time when getting the skis). My kids will probably be tuckered out by 3:00 anyhow but what kind of ski rental place charges you extra for skiing through the whole day!? Especially when its an in-town shop?Everyone there was very friendly and helpful except the manager on duty Sam. He was horribly condescending and charged in blaming me for their mistakes. Total lack of ownership to make things better. When I was fed up with him and asked for his bosses name and number he said he couldnt just give that out. I was floored again. I hadnt asked for his HOME number. 0 listening skills. So bad policy (if what Sam told me is right but is in contrary to what two other staff told me) plus bad attitude from the same one manager took a 5 star experience to a 1.$40 for a 1 day (1.5 day $27*1.5=$40.5) is a little steep, but it looks like fresh kit so not outrageous. But their practices above amounts to a bait n switch and is not ethical nor is it legal and Sam, as a manager, should be smart enough to realize that.

I have been to this specific location of Colorado S&G half a dozen times and the other locations a couple times each, as well. I love this company and this store in particular, and I will explain why.Im an avid skier (white, male, so I cant speak to the negative review regarding the woman and the black customer) and a gear head. S&G set the bar high when I first came in 3 years ago; I (at that point, a broke college kid) had been shopping for some used ski boots for my little brother. Someone found us to help fairly quickly and was the type of person we needed: down to earth, knowledgeable, and not the typical try-to-make-you-buy-something salesman. This has been my experience every time, and matches the personality of the 15 or so employees Ive talked to there. The reason that visit was special, however, is when we made up our minds on the boots, and were walking towards the check out counter with them in hand, the employee that had helped us out ran up to us and said he could potentially get the price lower. I was struck dumb, considering I had already made it clear that I was ready to pay the initial price. Sure as hell, he came back 3 minutes later and had managed to take another $50 off the boots.Ive had several very similar experiences since then, my most recent one being yesterday (thats why Im going out of my way to write this review). Plus, the pricing is extremely reasonable and the selection is huge.Anyways, sorry for the ramble. This place is great, highly recommend checking it out.

I usually do most of my shopping for ski gear here. The staff are knowledgable and clearly enjoy skiing themselves, thus making them some of the best people to talk gear talk with.I give my overall experience 4 stars, but I give working with Roddey 5 stars. He was one of the main staff people who really took me seriously when I came in looking for a high performance ski boot. Low and behold, after a few conversations I believe I have found the perfect boot for my foot. I got to take it out for the first time recently and after the initial cramping and getting used to new gear, Ive never felt my skis react so well underneath me. There might be some tweaking I need in the future, but I have really enjoyed how seriously Roddey took me. A lot of guy skiers dont always believe a woman when she says she skis aggressively so it was really awesome to be taken seriously and put in a boot that reflects my skills. He really listened to me and my experiences and just went with it.Plus, you cant beat the performance guarantee deal that lets you try gear 5 times. Which I did have to do on a bigger sized boot. Roddey put me in a size down and I had zero problems returning the old pair Id tried 5 times already. Really awesome team here who are all clearly passionate about snow sports as much as their clients are.If you are a more expert skier, I cannot recommend Roddey enough. With that comes top prices, everything is a bit overpriced, but you get what you pay for. Just bought some boot insoles, and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful with the products.

The guys in the snowboard department are great. I got new boots and rather than trying to sell me the ones I had wanted just for looks, they took the time to tell me about a few features I may like/dislike on all the boots offered. After trying on 3 different pairs, I ended up getting ones that I love but hadnt looked at originally. They fit so well and after 5 days of snowboarding in them, I think they were a better choice for me than the ones I would have picked out on my own. I appreciate the time they took, even though they were a little busy, to make sure I ended up buying the best product for what I needed!

After a pretty disappointing experience at Evo downtown, I came to the Aurora Epic for new ski boots and was grateful for the time that Evan (I hope that was his name...he should be known as a foot wizard, regardless) took to help find me new boots. I have some weird-shaped feet, and he took a lot of time with me (the guys even kept the store open late for me on a week night!). He was ready to suggest other boots that they didnt carry in stock -- I have weird-shaped feet and have always needed a lot of custom work done on my ski boots in the past. He was very knowledgeable about what would be needed based on my specific issues, and was very patient in finding the right fit and making adjustments. The Epic performance guarantee, in addition, made me feel safe about such a big purchase.Im still early in the new boot usage, but already can say the boots I ended up with are better than what Ive skied in previously, and Im pumped for the control theyve allowed without completely destroying my feet in the process. I feel pretty awesome about my experience and would recommend their services.

Friendly staff. Great sales. Moderately priced gear I guess you could say 🤷‍♂️

How can this store have a 4 store rating? Have you all not experienced the long lines? The indifferent staff that dont know the products or their systems? The out of stocks? The rudeness of assistant manager Sam? Well whatever your experiences, Ill never walk into this store again.

Some of the most knowledgeable people in the industry with ties to Vail Resorts. Ive never had a bad experience there. Their junior ski trade-in program is probably one of the best and most economical decisions a skier could make for their child getting into the sport.

Tall sizes in ladies gear in colors other than BLACK would really be appreciated!
