Ive lived in Mission Viejo for 10 years and Gott A Costume has been a tried and true staple this whole time. Love having a year round costume shop for themed parties and events that dont fall around Halloween! I have known and love the owners of this Aurora Gem for much of my life. They have been very sweet and kind people. The staff that they employ are terrible though. Diana brings the already low value of the shopping center even lower than it could possibly be. I know that the trashy landlord has allowed this establishment to remain in tact rent free for years now and the tarnish that this locally owned costume shop is beginning to take its toll on our community with their sub par employees. I wish the Gott’s the best and hope they can find some better staff to save their store.

They have fantastic pieces from all around the world. I went in just for a necklace, and ended up with five of them, a bracelet, and five rings!

We absolutely LOVE this shop! We are customers for life and dont shop anywhere else for our costume needs. My kids have had the most amazing costumes and accessories for any occasion, from Halloween to Spirit Week at school. Cherry, the owner, can create any costume and has the most amazing ideas. Her and her employee, Diana, are both so friendly and clearly love what they do and they are so good at it!

Rent a Party Character- Was extremely professional and easy to work with. Cherry the owner, was quick to respond and a big part in making my little girls party a hit. We were nervous that Covid would ruin her birthday but having princess Jasmin come was the best idea, wish we would have thought about it with all our other kids and birthdays. Jasmin arrived promptly, her interaction with my daughter and her little friends couldnt be any cuter. We had Aladdin music playing, they danced, read books, played games. She even stayed longer just to sing Happy Birthday. My favorite thing about the whole night was she never broke character. This goes with out being said but her attention to detail and all the things we told her about our daughter ahead of time Jasmin remembered. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you Cherry and all of your crew!

Usually a great place to conveniently find a good costume however I was not pleased with they way they wasted my time. I called to set an appointment today, asked a few questions and I’m assured by the employee on the phone they should be able to accommodate my needs. Just to get there at the appointment time and not only is no one at the store to meet me they can’t pick up me calls. Very disappointed..

The customer service of the family who owns this place is phenomenal! I came in to try some costumes for an event and left my wallet at the store. Since it is the off season they have more limited hours and I realized they were going to be closed for the next two days. The owners came in the next day (though the store was closed) just to let me get my wallet. I really appreciate this place and the awesome people who run it!

They are over priced and actually rude to children!! One of there employees yelled at a child for playing with the toy accessories ( guns, swords. Helmets, etc...). There high end rentals are dirty and some of the costumes were held together with duct tape and string! Many of them were in severe need of repairs or just replacement. The store is small and cramped and had very poor lighting. There was a employee there when we went in who looked like he had just done a boat load of drugs and then decided to come to work. And I’m not talking about pot either. Other then The polite service we got at checkout I would not go back to that store or recommend bringing your children there. I Have known about Gott a costume for many years. And when I first learned about them sometime 10 years ago, they were a well functioning oiled machine. I went in there this year to pick out costumes and realize just how far they have fallen. Either the owner needs to make some serious changes or they just need a new owner.

There seriously needs to be an option for zero stars. This company is the most disorganized company I’ve ever dealt with. First, I call to book the appointment and I’m told that the characters are available. I told Tanner that I needed to tell my boyfriend and I would call him back. It took me 5 minutes to call back and within those 5 minutes, the 2 characters I wanted for my son’s birthday party were all of the sudden not available. About two days past by and I receive an email from Tanner saying that the characters that I needed were available. I called him to book them and he would not answer his phone. After several tries, I was able to reach him and he booked the 2 characters for me and took half of the payment. I sent him a text letting him know I had not received a confirmation for the booking of the two characters or the payment that I had made. He responded to my text two days after a saying that he could help book the characters that I needed for my party, but nothing about my confirmation. It almost makes me wonder if all he does is glance at his texts, calls or emails. When I booked the 2 characters, he told me that I would receive a call from the characters the day prior to the party. The day of the party came which was June 1st and I did not receive any phone call from the characters the day prior to the party. I called Tanner about 10 times and left two different voicemails in two different numbers asking him to return my call to confirm that they were still coming and I did not receive a call back. I emailed him and texted him, yet I didn’t receive a response. Luckily, Wands and Wishes was able to send the 2 characters that I needed (long story), but Tanner was nowhere to be found. On the texts, email and voicemails, I told him that I needed him to call me ASAP to confirm because I was very concerned that no one would show up to my son’s birthday party which he was very excited about. I told him that if I did not receive a response I would just have Wands and Wishes come and entertain the kids, but still no response. I received a text from Tanner, not a phone call, past 1pm (two hours before the party) and he said that he was really busy and that they would be there. Mind you, I had been calling him since early in the morning. I sent him a text back and told him that I had already confirmed with Wands and Wishes to show up because he was unresponsive, he didn’t respond anymore. Needless to say, I will be placing a dispute for the charge because if he didn’t respond diligently to my calls, I am sure he will not respond to give my money back. After reading the bad reviews, it seems like Tanner is the common denominator, so I wonder if he is the owner or just a terrible employee. This company really needs to get it together and hire someone that can serve the customers in a timely manner or train Tanner on how to have better customer service etiquette. I have all the screenshots of the texts, emails and calls that I made in case he wants to make it seem like this is all a lie.

Expensive! Some staff were very helpful but one young cashier/sales person was frazzled and swearing left and right in front of young children! Not appropriate or acceptable behavior for staff no matter how busy you are!

I went in and they completely ignored me, both the female and male employees sat and stared at there respective phones. When i asked to look at the rental costumes the male employee acted like it was a hardship to open the store so i could look and instead of showing me around he quickly shooed me out suggesting i should just buy a costume. if i was the owner i would be very concerned.

Visited Party City for a Guy Fawkes mask. No such luck. Visited this place and they had the mask, and even an entire V-ensemble. At the very least, they blow Party City away for costume capability. But Im not too much of a dresser to understand if there was EVERYTHING there. It felt like it though.

I rented a costume for renfair on Sunday. The owner allowed to take it on Wed since he wanted the sale and I didnt have to pay for extra days. That was nice. But when I started ironing the costume on Sun morning I saw that it was not cleaned. There were stains on the sleeves and on the hem. Also the dress did not smell fresh at all. It was used and had not been cleaned. I took it back right on my way to renfair. The store was closed but the owner was there. I would expect an apology and at least a portion of the rent price refunded. None of these happened. These people do not appreciate their customers

Way over price, $150.00 for a dress and the beading was coming apart. Would not lower the price,,over crowed with to much stuff oh dont get me wrong you can get any costume you want there but like I said there pricie

This review is in regards to the rent an actor part of the business. My son had a transformers birthday party and desperately wanted a transformer at his party. I could only find two places that offered one and the other company had even worse reviews than this one. Against my better judgement, I booked an optimus prime character for his party and my credit card was charged a deposit. I spoke with the actor named Tanner (who owns this company as well) two days before his party and thought everything was set. On the day of the party, he didn’t show up. After about 20 minutes past when he was supposed to show up, I tried calling and texting him to ask what was going on. I received a response that he was in an accident and he had to stay for the police but would refund his money. I sent him a text to ask if he was going to be late or not make it at all. I never heard from him after that. Two days later he sent me a text saying he had dropped his phone that same day and he would refund my money. He also said he wanted to surprise my son in the optimus prime costume. I asked if a certain would work for him to surprise him and he said that he would get an actor to do it. A few days went by without my refund showing up so I asked him 3 or 4xs what was going on. It’s been three weeks now…no refund and nothing about surprising my son to try to make it up for the birthday party. I am working with my bank to dispute the charges now. Never again will I rent anything here. Please beware!

I cannot believe the selection! From old 60s jewlery to late 2000s... Kool antique sunglasses and the best this is everything is on sale and you have the option to rent for one time. Could this place be any better? Yes.. The employee is a woman wbos been there 17 years and her hospitality os on point. She knew i was beetle juice and wanted a white paint that would last on my skin and opened the bottle and tested it right there to make sire i was happy before i bought it.. She gave my friend a vip treatment and walked her though picking all her seperate pieces for tue costume down to the jewlery and made her so happy. This employee is amazing! A complete 80s arrobics instructor for less than $37. Can you believe it?... I did however witness some lady who boughr her costume and used it for a party and then tries to get reimbursed full price! She didnt rent it and the employee told her you bought it and cant return something you didnt rent. This makes sense right? This customer flipped out and was cussing and causing a scene and making every happy customer. Unpleasant witnessing the abuse she was giving to the employee who was kind ans trying to explain the policy. Next time lady is you need to save a dollar rent the costume dont buy it then try to return it later for a full refund its just tacky and not right to this buisness who clearly tries to give the customers every option to be satisfied. I rate this store 5 stars... Great customer service... Great inventory and selction.... Great prices....great location...

We ordered bumblebee for my sons party. I had a really hard time finding this character so I was so excited when gott a costume had him. I live all the way in fountain and the actor drove from Denver to fountain for our party. Of course I paid a traveling fee but it was sooooo worth it!!! He was awesome with the kids! Kept them entertained and my son loved it. He was a really good sport. Everyone enjoyed it. Thank you bumblebee and gott a costume for making my sons party memorable!

Such a great place! I rented an actor (Spider-Man) for my sons 6th birthday and the kids had such a great time!! We had the party at jumpsteet so spidey was able to get some great jumps and flips in making all the kids scream with excitement!! I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking to add some flair to a birthday party or event. We also get all of our costumes here for not just halloween but comic con and renn fest too!!! Always great quality and at a great price too!

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!!! This one-stop shop for all of your entertainment needs! The rent an actor has a wide range of AMAZING actors that will take your party to the next level. I am often hired with an actor to do facepainting. Being involved in these parties makes me sooo very happy. Nothing compares to seeing a child light up from seeing their favorite character, even better yet interacting with them is priceless. This is the best all year costume shop in the metro area! They have a fantastic rentals department and pretty much everything you need to peice an AMAZING costume together if you love cosplay! During Halloween, they have multiple stores that have a great selection of costumes! Make sure and visit for all of your dressing up needs!!!

Very helpful and lots of costumes

My sister and brother in law went into the store to look at costumes today and my brother in law had picked out a jacket that he wanted to pair with the face mask that he had gotten. The jacket was pretty cool and it had a price tag that read $10 on it. Well when he went to pay for it the lady immediately went to check to see if the price tag was correct which was ok but what came after was very upsetting. This lady (who claims to be the owner) had the worst attitude i have ever seen! She accused us of switching the tags and whats worse is that she was loud and embarassed us in front of everybody in the store and In front of my 10 year old niece which really upset me. She couldnt even prove that, that jacket they wanted to buy was indeed the price she said it was. I am in customer service and have been for years and i know exactly how to act and she tried to say that she was not being rude. I am going to report her and further this complaint through other means possible in order for something to be done here because this is the worst i have ever seen. She didnt even give us a chance and we were being as polite as possible about it. NEVER go here for your costumes. This lady does not deserve your money and she sure as hell doesnt deserve ours!

So we visited their temporary location at arapahoe and parker today. They were crazy busy. The young man greeting people at the door was so nice I was kind of caught off guard (see walmart employees around xmas lol) He directed us right to what we were looking for and even gave us a coupon. AN other employee in a king of hearts costume helped us find something else we needed and even put it on hold for us. When they didnt have something else we needed she directed me to their other location on hampden and Chambers where the employees were every bit as helpful. Around 5pm we went back into the parker rd store. Even after dealing with so many people all day the greeter seemed tired but very nice and helpful. We were looking for something for our child who is out of town until tomorrow and the girl in the king of hearts costume opened it for us so we can make sure it would fit. She even put it back in the package for us. While cashing out the two girls that had been there since earlier were so friendly and gave us a lollipop lol. We have three kids and we know where we will be buying our costumes from here on out.
