This was our first time using a 3D scan service to give us as-built conditions on a project. In the past, we had done a conventional survey of the interiors of a home and then had the surveyor place those surveyed dimensions in a 2D software program (AutoCAD).Here at Joe McGuire Design, we are an Interior Design firm that works in Revit. The old route of taking 2D drawings and building an accurate 3D Revit model from them is time consuming, causes budget constraints, and not always 100% accurate.Having Steve provide us with a photographic virtual tour has been a great resource for when we are referencing as-built conditions. It is extremely beneficial when living hours away from project!Having an accurate Revit model of the surveyed project has saved us time and money up front.
