Dena is sweet and kind and does amazing work! She also undercharges so please be kind and give her a little extra as she is something special, especially nowadays!

Dena is so sweet and her work is impeccable. I took her an impossible project (I had gone to several shops over a week and no one could do it) and she completed my garment! Her work is so professional that I actually resale many garments in my online boutique.If you need a garment/clothing altered or made from scratch Dena is the place to go!She was the only shop that could do what I needed!

First time coming here, and I highly recommend it. She did a fabulous job on a 3 layer dress.

I called to get alterations snd they were so rude when I called I would never take anything to this place.

I tried to self alter to no avail. These wonderful ladies helped me fix it right before they closed in less than half an hour.Came back with my wedding dress which I mistakenly took to another seamstress who cut it way too short. She took the cut off pieces and through some kind of magic was able to make the dress look jaw dropping. This was all 2 weeks before my wedding.She also fixed my suit for my job interviews in only a couple of days.All this on top of very reasonable prices makes Denas sewing room a true gem! Theyre a true life fairy godmother.

This lady is a true life saver. Had a business party in 4 hours and my pants were too long. Drove over and she happily obliged to help me out right when I walked in. Best customer service Ive ever experienced! Pants looked even better than before!!

Amazing work! If I could give 6 stars I would. Dena is not only great with a needle, shes compassionate understanding. My first visit I came in with a ruined dress on my way to MY bridal shower. She fixed my bridal shower dress on the spot. I brought my wedding dress back for alterations. Again, extremely happy with the results! She did a beautiful bustle.I highly recommend getting everything altered here.

Bad experience/first impression. I called the location on a Friday, asking if they could hem a dress Id just purchased by Monday. I was told to come in so they could see the item. Came in around noon, didnt even need to try it on for them as I just wanted the hem lengthened as as much as possible. Dress is made of a stretchy polyester, one layer only. I was told the seamstress could lengthen the dress but would have to add a strip of material so the dress would lay better and hem easier. Completely understandable and for a good price too. I agreed and again asked if it could be done by Monday. They told me theyd have it ready for me by noon on Monday. Returned to the location on Monday, even gave them a couple extra hours as the shop is out of my way, before going home to get ready for my event later that afternoon. My dress hadnt even been touched yet. It was still lying under a heap of other items. The seamstress said shed planned on working on Sunday but things hadnt worked out. Asked me if I could come back in an hour. I responded no, I would not be able to return and that Id needed this item for later that afternoon. I was met with surprise when I told them I needed the dress for later that same day (why else would I emphasize the need for this dress on Monday?) and then told that if I wanted I could come in the next day so they could do it then (again, after Id need it). I wont be coming back. Ive worked in alterations before so I know how busy things can get, especially during wedding season, however I found this situation to be incredibly unprofessional. I understand life can get in the way, but it is a great disservice to the client for a business to promise one thing then not complete said promise because they are over-stretching themselves. I would have rather been told that they could not complete my item on time and sent me off to find another shop or to search for another dress. Again, poor first impression. Hopefully, I am an outlier.

Brides and bridesmaids, be careful when you choose dena to be your seamstress. I took my wedding dress here to do some alterations and I told her I needed the dress two weeks before my wedding date because I still needed to press it and take pictures in it a week before my wedding.... long story short, I got it 2 days before my wedding I had to cancel the photography session which I paid for and the dress was still too long. And the bussel ripped off 30 minutes into my reception. Ladies please save your coin and go somewhere else

The two Greek and one Italian ladies are wonderful! Makes me feel like my mom is taking care of me. Very old school just the way I was brought up. Pants fit great! My daughters dress was perfect.

I ordered a dress offline and it fit me terribly. With just a couple alterations the owner fixed it for a very fair price and in a timely manner. She was very friendly and I would definitely recommend her to anyone.

Very satisfied. We brought a tweed vest with a satin back in to get taken in under the arms. You cannot even tell it was done and was very very inexpensive. I would recommend 100 times over.

Went to them so many times in the past absolutely loved this place. Until I came in this month and the lady I usually had wasnt there.I think it was Dena who ended up doing my clothes this time. It was double what I usually paid. And minimal work done. I gave her 2 dresses. Tighten the sleeves and fitted on the waist bust area. She tightened sleeves for one and left the waist big and then fixed the second one. why is it charged the same for both dresses if you didnt do the same work on it.Anyway my sister picked it up and asked them if price went up or changed. She didnt answer her and just walked away.I had a blazer there to be fixed at a later date. Ended up just taking it back. Theres a tailor on every corner, if youre going to pay so much it should atleast be a good experience. Guess its time to find a new tailor..

Dena and her assistants were awesome I found out I had a job interview early the next day and called around to see if anyone could help alter my suit jacket- I even got laughed at at other places, Dena immediately offered to help took it in at 10am it was ready by 3pm and a VERY reasonable price and professionally done!! I will be going back for all my tailoring needs!!

They were great! Helped me out with my sons winter jacket! Will see them in the fall for sure with another jacket and sleeves to be himmed😉

Similar experience to the previous reviewer. I had a bridesmaid’s dress altered for my daughter. They had it for 2 weeks. The receipt said pickup on 10/21. Got there at 12:30 and the dress was in a heap on the top of a sewing machine and the seamstress was outside on a smoking break. I was so disappointed bc the woman who helped us with out initial fitting couldn’t have been nicer. I was asked to come back in a half an hour. I did. The dress was done but hadn’t been properly steamed. Sorry to say I won’t be returning.

Even if you dont live around the area(I live in Streamwood), you should come here because Denas work is excellent and inexpensive. Shes so nice, and motherly! Definitely recommended. Having a bridesmaid dress being altered. Had a dress altered previously, and was pefect!

Dena does excellent work. Weve had her due everything from alterations, hemming and military patches. Shes quick and reasonable.
