Showed up well after their adoption event ended, open sign was off, and they still welcomed us in and showed us the puppies they had. We immediately fell in love with this little girl who we named Lola. She is full of energy and ready for adventure. The staff were so kind and helpful. The women who helped us get to know the pup was soooo nice and filled with useful information regarding the breeds of our pup. I wish I had asked for her name to mention her. Thank you so much!

This was a great experience. Everything went smooth from the application to picking up our new little one. His foster family really have impressed us, though we really dont know what they worked with him on the sit on command, potty training, following simple commands... it has been awesome! And then there is our sweet Copper, he is just quick to pick up any new commands we have taught him but most of all so sweet!! The Colorado Puppy Rescue was awesome through the entire process. They gave us all the information and communication was thorough. We just love him, thank you!!! Jana

I love animals! I have rescued every dog and cat we have ever had. This rescue is amazing! I started volunteering years ago because supporting an organization who loves animals like I do was important to me. The volunteers love the dogs that come in like their own. Many volunteers can be seen saying tearful goodbyes to their fosters so that the new adopters can cry tears of joy at the first meeting with their new furry family member. I have investigated many rescues to ensure I spend my limited free time with an organization I believe in. I believe in these people and this group. These babies come from being “discarded” by the humans that have chosen not to spay/neuter their pets. The directors of this rescue take in the puppies that need humans to take a chance on them and help them to be happy dogs living lives with people who love them. This means saying that they will go above and beyond to ensure these pups get the care needed to be adopted out to the family that loves them. Their mission is to rescue but the dream is that there are no unwanted animals in the world. This is the motto the directors of this rescue believe in. I will donate my time and talent to THIS rescue because they are amazing!

We have adopted two stunning dogs first was about 8 years ago and our most resent one about 3 months ago and I understand every one it’s different I guess we got lucky to receive the most wonderful animals we honestly just wanted to help animals since now this day there so many animals in need, each experience went smoothly no problem once so ever the adoption process went just like they mentioned price has went up I remember our first adoption was around $250 and our resent one was $400 and it can go up depending on the dog you get, the presses was a list and it goes in the order you sign up it was nothing like I see many comments say it’s to the highest bidder that wasn’t the case with us we were like the 24 in the list and still was able to get one off the three we choose just need to keep in mind there many families in need off dogs since covic, there definitely not accurate with the dogs breed but it’s totally understandable since there rescue not a big deal for me that’s why I give them a 4 star and because of price other than that we haven’t had any problems we took them to the vet and got them checked ASAP and they said there couldn’t be more healthy ,we’re actually getting ready to adopt our third pet with them we have try other rescues and it’s a more difficult this one has work fore us every time .I do understand that rescue means they might have a couple of problems but we we’re lucky to have adopted such adorable pets there just wonderful we had a problem with our first one he was allergic to all food but never was a big deal we got hem in the right food type and problems solved.

Love. This. Rescue. I adopted from them in 08/2019 and it was the best decision I’ve ever made! Since then my sister and I both have been inspired by their work and the lives they save. We have continued to support their efforts by donating supplies and we even fostered two babies in 08/2020. If you haven’t fostered or thought about fostering, please do so! It was such a fun week for us. Who doesn’t love puppy snuggles during a pandemic?! :) 10/10 recommend this rescue. Big thank you to Colorado puppy rescue for saving my baby and ultimately brining him into my life

I put in an application for a pup and sent an email asking for information since the pup was special needs and required an appointment to meet. Sent another email after not hearing back for a few days and saw that there were some new Facebook posts regarding available pups on their page. I thought maybe my first email hadn’t gone through but it’s been quite a while (so long that the puppy I was hoping to meet is now taken off the page. I’m assuming he was adopted) and I still have not had the courtesy of even one email or phone call. I’m a bit frustrated and will not recommend this company to anyone looking to rescue a pup in the future. Hate to leave a one star review but just wanted to be heard and inform others of the lack of communication.

Do not adopt a puppy from this place! I am now forced to take legal action against them. We adopted a puppy from this place 5 days ago. Overall our puppy was doing ok but had diarrhea from day one which We thought was from stress, new food etc. Then yesterday afternoon our puppy became extremely lethargic and stopped eating and drinking. We became concerned when he started throwing up last night and we rushed him to our vet. Turns out our puppy tested positive for Parvo. We called the 24 hour number that Colorado Puppy Rescue gives you and left a message. We didn’t feel comfortable taking our puppy back home and wait till the next morning till the rescue got back to us. Amanda from the rescue called me this morning and said due to legal issues they can’t pay outside their network vet bills and we should go get our puppy from our vet and drive over an hour to them so he could be seen by their vet. I asked Amanda to call my vet which she did and called me back a few minutes later. Amanda told me that my vet said our puppy was doing much better and might be able to come home this afternoon and didn’t understand why we felt our puppy needed immediate care. She brought up the paperwork I signed saying again how they are not liable...... I mentioned taking legal action and she hung up. I called back and got a voicemail. I asked that the director call me to discuss this situation. As of this review no call back. I called my vet to get some clarification and he said he never said our puppy was better and could possibly go home later today. He told Amanda that the puppy was stable but far out of the woods and asked how he should proceed if the rescue calls back. Our puppy is still receiving treatment and we are hoping he makes a full recovery and comes home to us soon. Colorado Puppy Rescue cares only about the money and takes no responsibility for selling people sick dogs. Very disappointed.

Positives:-Adoption process was easy and as described.-Got our deposit back for the spayNegatives:-After a 30 second scan on a free app (and later confirmed by a DNA test) we realized our lab/Shepard mix puppy was a Pitbull/staffy/Boxer mix. We love Pitbulls, we have a 14 year old Pitbull, we didnt want another Pitbull. A dog is a lifelong commitment, and we were looking for a much bigger dog to be more comfortable with our kids, but once you bring a puppy home its hard to take it back. I realize they say on the site that their breed guess is a guess, but it is so obvious she is not a lab or a Shepard. Perhaps you all could download the app so you could better prepare people for what they are adopting?- It read on her rabies vaccine she was a male, not a female, which caused problems with our vet.- It also read she was 3 months old at the time of adoption, and our vet confirmed she was more like 5 months old at the time of adoption, which could have helped us better identify that she wasnt going to be a big dog at the time of adoption and we could have chosen more wisely. Also it put her in danger of not getting spayed before her first heat, as it took months to get an appt. for a spay. Perhaps the vet you all use could do a more thorough exam? They realized pretty quickly when they saw how many adult teeth had grown in.

Very disappointed in this rescue we knew the risks of adopting a rescue pup read threw many reviews and all the paperwork. We adopted a puppy 2 Saturdays ago by monday morning he was sick had his first vet visit already setup so took him in to get told he had pravo followed the way the resuce said which was to call then take the puppy back to them had to sign him back over to the to have them pay for hospital to care for the puppy. They gave us very little information on what was going on with our pup really thinking now they didnt even try to treat him but got told friday he didnt make it but we could have first pick Saturday for a new pup. Just feel like they were careless and unprofessional told us they would give us a cleaner i asked when we could pick it up have never gotten a answer. I understand their job is hard and they deal with alot of puppies but very unprofessional my kids are heartbroken and very little to nothing was done by the rescue to help us or ease our pain from this and was told our puppy must have been just a fluke that no other puppies have been sick but other reviews point to other pravo puppies within the time frames we adopted just sad!!! And are also out the vet bill to have him diagnosed to prove he was sick. If they really checked puppies coming in the would have caught that he was sick also was told he came from Texas but paperwork says he was checked by vet from New Mexico not sure they really know whats going on!

While I appreciate what the organization does, their current adoption method is disheartening. You wait several weeks for an event and the sign up and instead of being limited or first come its a random lotto. Normally I would not complain, but when you have 37 people for 15 adoptable pets and because of bad luck your low on the list is not the way it should be done. I understand with covid safety standards need to be maintained but they should lock the events to a max of 2 interested per puppy or something like that. I missed out on all three I was interested in because of random bad list placement and nothing else. I would like to adopt but I dont know if I will use this site again because of the randomness of selection for your place in line. I was prepared to drive from the springs to Aurora, set my day aside only to be disappointed at 8am this morning to see I was number 34 in the list, despite having completed the sign up at 8:02 which is only open for an hour. But i was patient and all three where gone within the first 12 people. They really should limit the number that can sign up somewhat proportional to the animals up for adoption and maybe give priority to those who attended a pervious event and where not able to select a puppy. The system could work fine if they had more pups for adoption but today was nothing but a disappointment and waste of the day.

We got our puppy here in late October. The process was very smooth and easy and within an hour, we were taking our boy home. Only reason for 4 stars is- with what we paid in the adoption fee and all that, I really wish we had known what kind of dog were we getting. When we first looked at him, it said Boxer mix. As he started growing more, its becoming obvious that hes not Boxer at all. Were about 95% certain hes pit with some kind of collie/terrier thrown in. I wouldnt trade my baby for the world, but for people who live in apartments or want a smaller animal, or have severe hangups about owning certain breeds (even mixed), knowing the breeds they are mixed with would be a huge help. Many apartments will not allow certain breeds, not to mention if my homeowners insurance catches wind that he has ANY pit in him, were done for. I think these things are pretty important for people to know, even just 90%. If its an issue with the rescue, such as getting the dogs in time before the are destroyed, they should offer something to get the DNA tested or places you can get it done for cheap/deposit like they do with the neuter/spay. Again, this isnt for me, as I love our baby very much, but some people do not want anything with pitbull mixed in, or Chow, or Rotty. They just dont. You cant tell all that well when they are very small half the time either, like with ours. I think this would put a lot of peoples minds at ease.

We had a great experience with CPR. My family adopted a dog this past Saturday, a Shepherd/lab mix. We have small children, but my husband and I both have experience training puppies, so we were confident we could make it work. Five days later, that confidence was gone - even though our puppy was learning fast, the training process was resulting in too many injuries to our 2 year old twins. Harley, as we named her, wasn’t going to learn not to jump or play nip overnight. When I realized neither the children nor the puppy was receiving the attention they deserved, we made the tough decision to return Harley, something about which I felt very guilty and defeated. CPR was friendly and non judgmental. They understood, and made the return process as easy as it could be. We will need to re-evaluate our priorities and decide whether we would like to have a smaller, low energy dog now, or adopt another large dog in several years when the children are bigger. Either way, we would love to return to CPR for our next puppy when the time comes.

Being very new to their process when asked the owner of Rocky Mountain about the process and where we could just view the dogs to see which ones were there for the day. She was incredibly rude and belligerent with us and later she was nasty with a group of people that had already made it through the interview process. There are plenty of organizations that we can adopt through and not have to be mistreated through that process. Too bad the puppies miss out on exceptional home because of the owners belligerence.

CPR allows online sign-up (I highly recommend doing this!) which meant we didnt have to get there an hour before the event started. Although we were about 10th in line, one of the three pups we wanted to meet adopted us and we could not be happier! We were told the rules, I agreed to them but then while in the process they completely ignored their own rules. I am glad the puppy I wanted was adopted, I will NEVER support this organization. After filling out the paperwork that is when it said dont even ask to adopt two dogs because they wont do it. They supply that information after youve filled out the paperwork. I dont know how other adoption places work but I didnt even get to see the puppies. The bigger dogs were in their cages and fenced off so you couldnt even see all of them. They said they do it in groups of 10, first 5 get interviewed while the other 5 look at the puppies then they switch. After everyone has been interviewed, if two people are equally qualified and interested in the same dog, the person with the lower number gets it (ok, it is their rules, and Im still ok with the rules). After the first group was done, they came out to say which dogs are still available (still in agreeance with them). They finally call my name, have the incorrect dogs down that I want to view, I let them know those arent the dogs and said which dog I wanted to look at and they said that dog has already been adopted. How can it be since it was available after the first group? Youre number is higher than theirs and they adopted the dog, there are plenty of others. I dont want a German Shepard, I dont want a male, I came in specifically for two dogs to look at. How can the other person have gotten the dog when they were in the same group as me and THEY NEVER INTERVIEWED ME???? NEVER will I give a penny to this so called organization. As someone else has mentioned, I do wonder if it is more of a dog mill than a dog rescue? Im mad because they didnt do the process the way they said they do. After reading these reviews, I hope those little puppies are healthy! Maybe because they know of the condition of the health of the pups, that is why they ask what youd do if you got a 1,000 vet bill or more???

They said he would be back up on the website within a week, to remain patient and continue checking (since we had already paid our adoption fees). Every day we checked the website for the next adoption event but we never saw him again. We waited a few days before messaging them, only to find out the dog had been mysteriously adopted. You might get lucky and find a healthy puppy here, but the margins for ripoff seem really high and their leather ass of a vet is reason enough to pass on by to one of the many other reputable adoption clinics within the Denver area. We happily adopted two weeks later from a different clinic and so glad we did.

She came down with parvo within days of getting her home. I think some of the comments about this place being a puppy mill are so bizarre. First of all, if you look at the website and do a little research, you realize that all they do is help adopt out puppies from underserved communities. Most of the puppies come from reservations or ranches were the dogs pretty much breed with wild abandon. If they are not adopted then they end up euthanized. They sit you through an orientation where they explain this to you and also the fact that it is difficult to figure out the exact breed of dog, they can only guess. My puppy came from Dixon Animal Protection Society. The puppies are transferred and might spend a day or two in foster. You will never know really what that dogs disposition is when they only spend a short amount of time in that environment. If you just want a puppy then show up, if you are looking for something exactly what you want then you probably wont get it. We just came in and took a chance, I was surprised that we lucked out with a beautiful shepard mix. People who put their name on the list were leaving because the exact puppy they wanted got adopted. Seems silly to me! As far as price, not much different than any other rescue, especially when you factor in how much time it takes to retrieve, transport, foster, gives shots. Fyi, its chaotic with no guarantees that you will get exactly what you want, but we love our little guy, sweet and perfect!

We got our first pup in March of 2011, and our second pup in June of 2012. Both adoptions we were in line early, got our name on the list, had some breakfast across the street, and once they were all set up at 11, we got our first choice puppies. The system works perfectly, and you get to meet the pup youre interested in to make sure they have a good personality for you. Theyve received their first set of vaccinations, and they go through some guidelines about puppy care with you before you get to take them home. That to me shows that they CARE, they clearly are not looking to just make a buck. The volunteers were organized, efficient, and incredibly helpful. The relationship the group has with the Petco is great as well. The foster families have a great dedication to come in every saturday morning to drop the pups off and provide a small comment card about the pups behavior in the few days they fostered. I recommend CPR to every person I know, because now I cant imagine my life without my two dogs and its all thanks to this great organization!

Our puppy came to us with a blood sucking lice infestation and a urinary tract infection. The adoption fees are just as much, or more, than a puppy at any other shelter, except CPR doesnt spay, neuter, or microchip their puppies. (Or apparently treat them for UTIs or blood sucking lice?) Also, not that we care much, but CPR listed her as a German Shepherd mix - she just turned one and weighs 16 pounds, and appears to be a shiba inu/chihuahua mix. So dont bother reading the info they post because its a waste of your time.Skip the hundreds of dollars in vet bills to get your dog UTI free, lice free, and spayed, and just go to another shelter or rescue.

Went by there today and it seems like a puppy mill. No older dogs, only puppies. I would be willing to bet all these puppies come from puppy mills and this rescue is all about making money.

Update:I sent an email to the Hopeful Hound to inform them that their facility would need to be sterilized since my puppy had been adopted in their facility and she had been diagnosed with parvo. I received an email from Kim Fallert Ortega on 10/17/18 that was aggressive and accusatory. To be clear I never once asked for any money. I only asked that other adopters be notified that my puppy had been diagnosed with parvo and that if they wished they could test their puppies to ensure no other puppy had been infected. Kim Fallert Ortega told me that Colorado Puppy Rescue owned Hopeful Hound and told me that our puppies are the most protected that a puppy can be while in our care, which is a grand total of 3 days (puppies arrive on Wednesdays and adopted out Saturdays). She told me that she was sorry that my puppy did not respond to the vaccine. She then accused me of not contacting her when we found out that our puppy was ill, which is untrue. As soon as the vet said our puppy had parvo we immediately called Colorado Puppy Rescue. We were given 2 options over the phone. 1. Return the puppy for a full refund. This we refused because she is our fur baby. Option 2: return the puppy and they would take care of her and we could readopt later. It was also stated that no vet bills would be covered. We refused that option because I was already paying vet bills and I wasnt about to put my poor puppy back in a kennel for this place to take care of her when she had a perfectly safe and happy home where she could heal. The only thing I ever asked for from Colorado Puppy rescue was for them to contact the owners of the puppies at the adoption event on 10/6/18 to let them know there was a case of parvo and to check their puppies. This request was denied and Kim Fallert Ortega accused me of demanding that this action be taken when I had simply requested it. She told me We are experienced and can come off harshly when trying to get at the root of the problem and get things figured out over the phone. There was nothing to figure out, our vet diagnosed our puppy with full blown parvo, and we called Colorado Puppy Rescue requesting they notified owners of puppies that were exposed.Kim Fallert Ortega then continued in her email to me to say It is irritating to be accused of not knowing procedure and protocols where illness and our rescue operation is concerned. I simply wrote her back and stated that we could agree to disagree about how this should have been handled. As far as I am aware no one at the 10/6/18 adoption event has been notified that there was a case of parvo. Trust with a rescue is built on clear communication and transparency. This is clearly not a priority with Colorado Puppy Rescue. If you adopt from here please ensure that you take yourThey need to make sure the puppies are parvo tested. I just wanted to get this information out there. If you adopted a puppy from Colorado Puppy Rescue on 10/6/18 please have your puppy tested for parvo. I adopted my sweet Luna from Colorado Puppy Rescue on 10/6/18 from them and within 2 days she stopped eating. My husband and I rushed her to the vet and had her tested. The vet confirmed that she had full blown parvo and that there was no chance of a false positive. We were told that if we had waited any longer she would have died. I have contacted Colorado Puppy Rescue to let them know and they said they would contact her litter mate. But since she was exposed to the other puppies at that adoption event on 10/6/18 at the Hopeful Hound located at 16780 E Iliff Ave, Aurora, CO 80013 I want to try to get the information out to owners of other potentially infected puppies. I dont want any other puppies to go through what my poor Luna is dealing with. Her treatment has been looking positive and the vet believes she will pull through. If you have any questions please let me know!

We adopted our first puppy in Nov 2012. The volunteers were organized and efficient, the event went seamlessly. You sign up, you wait your turn...when called you tell them which puppy you want to see. If you fall in love immediately like we did, you move on to the details and history...if you arent in love, pick another puppy. The system worked well and PetSmart hosted. The pups are tired and need some love from all the travelling and the conditions from where they originated. There was a volunteer foster mom waiting to see which of her pups that she had for only 1 day would get chosen...she was cheering them on hoping for fur-ever homes. :)You can tell that these people have heart. Would highly recommend!!!

The staff are not knowledgeable, and very biased. When I told them I wanted to keep the dog outside, the had someone come sit next to me, and say we need to talk. You cant keep a dog outside I am against it, and I am even against putting a dog in a kettle. I had an immediate attachement with the dog, even one person told me that this shy dog right away came up to me and snuggled with me and she didnt do this with any other families all day (while I attended this event around closing). The dog and I had an immediate connection and she was a shy dog, but she wasnt shy towards me and sat in my lap instantly. But since I made one comment saying I would like to keep the dog outside, I couldnt not adopt a dog. When I told them I would make arrangements to keep the dog inside they acted like they didnt believe me and still refused me to adopt a dog. The lady kept asking if I understood the importance of keeping the dog inside, while I sat there in scrubs knowing I work in the medical field. How selfish and opiononed are these people to take a dog away from me where I had an immediate attachment/connection with, even when I was trying to make an accomadation and say I will keep the dog inside.*Any advise to anyone who goes visit this place: *1- Say as little as you can about yourself to the staff. Be cautious and be careful what you say to them.. Once I made that one comment it was like everyone in the whole entire place knew I said that comment, and told everyone I could not adopt a dog.2- when talking to the empyloees there, just tell them what they want to hear because if you dont they wont let you adopt a dog

Horrible, horrible, horrible. We put our name on the waiting list NINE HOURS before the event started. Still my kids watched with tears rolling down their faces as each of the puppies we had eyed was taken by someone else ahead of us in line. I had tried to call in advance to find out where we were on the list, but they do not answer the phone nor emails. I would not have made the hour + drive had I known we were that far down the list. Plus, most of the fosters were not there to answer questions, and the visits were very rushed in a crowded noisy room. We were waiting to see if another family would take one puppy we wanted, and the staff went over and basically told them to make a decision because we were waiting. This was more pet store or puppy mill than true adoption matching experience.

Spending time at Colorado Puppy Rescue is one of the absolute highlights of my week. I volunteer my time at events and as a foster – I would not do this unless I truly believed in the organization and its efforts! CPR spends its time rescuing puppies from many different arenas; some that even come from unsafe or life-threatening situations. We act together as a group that delivers these hurt, fragile, and scared pups, into safe and loving homes. It is eye opening to me every time we get a new pup who comes in absolutely timid and fearful, but who leaves with exuberance and a personality of its very own. And watching an adopter whose search has narrowed down to “the one” puppy, is like witnessing a family come together as a unit. I recommend CPR to any friends I have who are looking for an addition to their family, and have been gratified to see many friends and colleagues show up to adopt! I am happy to be part of such an impactful organization. And the people who make it up all care for and love the puppies whose lives we change forever.

About 5 years ago I went to an adoption event at a Petco. It had been a long time since I had a pet of my own. It was a bit overwhelming, as I was not sure about their process. All I had was puppy brain. It was really busy, and there were several people there all wanting to adopt. One of the volunteers explained the process, that i had to sign in, wait my turn, and that I could visit with one puppy at a time. The first puppy I chose really liked the dog in the other pen, so I gave him to that family and chose a little heeler to visit with instead. I fell in love in about 30 seconds. I called my landlord to tell him I found a puppy, and then he changed his mind and said I could only get a small dog. I left very much upset with him, as he agreed to let me get a dog.I told a co-worker about the puppy rescue, and about the little pup I fell for, but couldnt get. The next week, she adopted him!A few days later, I found my soulmate. A crazy, older, terrier from a different rescue. They required a home visit and a two week trial period before completing the adoption. It ended up being a win/win. I got my girl and my coworker got the other pup.Something about Colorado Puppy Rescue sat with me, a few months after adopting from another rescue, I went to volunteer with them. Ive been there for 5 years now.

I know their hearts are in the right place but our hearts were broken. After looking for several weeks for a rescue to adopt a new puppy, I came across Colorado Puppy Rescue. We found the puppy we wanted online and thought we were blessed when we ended up with that same puppy. We had to wait a few days to actually get her because she had a runny nose. I thought to my self wow they really must care and get these dogs check out. How wrong I was.Everything started out pretty well. Our two little toddlers loved her, especially the youngest. Within a week our puppys true colors began to shine. She was very aggressive, mainly around any food. Growling and snipping at my youngest whether she came by her food bowl or stealing food from her hand. A few times she even bit her pretty hard. I gave her a chance trying to work with her food aggression but she failed again. I could no longer put my kiddos at risk for a dog.I called CPR about 10 times in a 4 day period and wrote an email explaining my need to relinquish her. They have never called me back. I had no choice but to relinquish her to Denver Dumb Friends League. Upon her initial check-in they rated her very aggressive and perhaps unadoptable. She failed every test they gave her for their adoptable dogs candidates. They couldnt believe she had been adopted out to us. They also said she has horrible hip dysplesia. Colorado puppy rescue says they had no previous information on the dogs once they receive them. But a few simple tests that almost EVERY shelter does before adoption would have saved us a lot of heartache. I am just glad my daughter wasnt hurt worse by the dog, and I hope DDFL can rehab her.

The Colorado Puppy Rescue gave me the best dog I couldve asked for. I enjoyed the process, in the sense that the pickup is based on a first come, first served (before they registered for online sign-up.) It does feel a little rushed, but at the time, all you want to do is play with your puppy and take them home. This rescue is not for people who jus want to come and play with puppies for a few minutes. Their intention is to have all of them adopted and with a loving family by the end of the day. Their process is fast and easy and it works for people who fall in love with this little pup.The only thing I disliked about the Colorado Puppy Rescue is their lack of accuracy in trying to determine the breeds. I know its their best guess, but it would have been nice to have a little more direction! Our Scooby was labeled as a Dutch Shepherd mix, and ended up being a Plott Hound/Lab mix. I also dislike the fact that they dont screen the behaviors of their pets. They just label all of them good with dogs, good with kids. They only have the dogs for one night, so its also their best guess, but it would be nice to have that information be a little more accurate also!Overall, theyre a great organization to adopt from. I havent had any problems with my first pup, Scooby. I will be getting my second one from the rescue this weekend! :)

We adopted our Plott Hound baby, Lakota, in July 2012 from CPR. There are no words to describe what Lakota has added to our family. He has so much personality and is so intelligent, and sometimes a trouble-maker, and we love him dearly. We ended up rescuing another plott hound that was found under a car when Lakota was 8 months old and named her Lucy. Lakota and Lucy are best friends and they spend their days wrestling and racing from one side of our yard to the other.I feel so indebted to CPR for bringing my Lakota to me that, in early 2013, I started volunteering with the organization. If I didnt feel that every effort is made to ensure the health and welfare of the puppies, I would not continue to work with them. Everyone in the organization is awesome and I highly recommend checking out CPR for your next pup.
