I’ve been going to Josh for years and he’s always been 5 stars great pricing and jobs well done. What has to be expected with great prices and honesty is that some times it takes time. Every time I’m there he is always slammed with business so take that in mind whenever you go somewhere for service. Josh does top quality work and I’ve never been let down. If something comes back from powder coaters and he doesn’t like it or customer he’ll send it back to be done to the customers liking.
The best when it comes to Media Blasting
Awesome person to deal with, down to earth, very friendly staff. He was the first person to actually called back or pick up.
He is straight forth, honest and has been stripping for me for years! We use his services for all the items in the photo gallery at www.superdutyfirebirds.com
JOSH IS THE MAN...When ever I need something cleaned up and ready for restoration he is it...GREAT Customer Service---GREAT Price---GREAT turn around time...Magoo-z at AUBURN AUTO MACHINE
So glad I found Performance Surface Prep for blasting and powder coat. Josh and crew go above and beyond - parts come out great every time.
I talked to Josh, he seemed to be a cool straight forward guy. I needed a small boat trailer sandblasted and powder coated. Pretty simple thing to be completed. He gave me a fair quote for the sandblasting and supposedly would be able to complete it in my time frame given. Ive never had anything sandblasted before so I assumed that sandblasters will automatically disassemble and reassemble everything that needed to be sandblasted. After I dropped it off thats where everything went wrong. I will highlight some of the points.Pros:Fair PriceCons: (everything else)Job not completed on time. Dropped off April 25, came by June 4th with trailer rollers after my vacation because it wasnt completed before I left on May 24.Trailer not completely reassemble, wire harness boot for lights missing. Fenders not installed, winch but installed, lights not installedRequested the length and size of the bolts that were going to be replaced prior to leaving on my vacation. I had to text him several times before I was given the size of the bolts for the rollers. I needed that because I was ordering it online. He failed to provide the other measurements for the bolts that he cut off.He ask me if I could do him a favor and take my trailer so that it would free up space in his shop. I should have said no, but Im glad I did because I wouldnt have caught all the things that were not done on the trailer. He told me that he would come over to my house and finish assembling everything. So I agreed, I paid for my incomplete trailer and took it home. I waited to hear when he was coming to install everything. The weekend came and went but he hadnt contact me. This was pretty much the entire time, I would have to initiate contact to find out the status of everything. He hadnt contact me of when he was coming, so I started to look for the bolts and nuts I would need and started to reassemble it myself. I picked up a new wire harness and bunch more stainless steel nuts and bolts. I spent about another $100 or more dollars, not to mention my time and gas. When I disassembled the mounts for the rollers, I noticed they were not removed when it was sandblasted. Yes there was some minor rust. And they were Powdercoated as is. Which is horrible on the Powder coating company that Josh recommended, CT Specialty Powder Coating. But they will get their own review.I completed what I could, the only things that was left was the fenders and connecting the trailer lights, but he needed to order the boot because they were damaged. I texted and called Josh repeatedly to speed up him coming over to my house, but it didnt seemed like he really cared, since he already got paid.So my last effort was to bring the trailer back to him to complete it. So I take back to his place on June 14th because he supposedly was waiting to get that boot that he ordered. It was again supposed to be completed by the end of day, still not completed. So he tells me Saturday morning. But I tell him that I will be by later that night. He says ok he will have my trailer outside his shop. I go there, connect the trailer and wires and find out the lights arent working at all. I disconnect it and text him that is not working and Im leaving it so he can fix it on Saturday. But he says I need to bring in my car because it might be the wiring on my car. Hmm, everything was working fine when I dropped it off in April. Oh well, I bring in my car on Sunday, and spend an hour and a half with them trying to figure out why its not working. They claim its the new wire harness I picked up from harbor freight. I know they dont have great quality tools, but wires are simple. Anyways, he tells me what wires go to where for the lights when I connect the new wire harness from Napa. Well, I had a feeling it wasnt the wire I ran. So I reconnected the wires to the lights and everything worked. I realized that I was missing my license. I ask him to drop off my license plate, he tells me to come get it outside his office.
