The owner Johnny showed up incredibly quickly and promised to tow my car out of a difficult garage situation that other companies would not take on. He said, Well make it work, and he did, and put enormous sweat equity into making sure it happened. Throughout it all he was friendly, skillful, and totally professional. I wouldnt give it a moments thought before calling him again if the need should ever arise.

Guess I cant speak on the company as a whole but I did have an experience with them by way of their driver, Hero rather, Billy. Guy was awesome to say the least. He went out if his way to accommodate my absurd requests and didnt blink an eye.To whoever is in charge of this guys pay, he deserves a raise. No doubt about it.

Our suv and boat got stuck at a boat launch and he went way above and beyond to get them out, getting himself soaking wet in the process from head to toe. It was incredible service and he didn’t even charge us extra. I couldn’t believe it.

This company is amazing and Im glad they sent out Rick he is amazing and quick. Aaa told us 6-8 hours wait time and after 2 hours of waiting my wife called General. Less than 20 minutes they arrived and Rick took care of business. Very very satisfied. We run a taxi business and thanks to Rick they now have our business.

These guys called me up and tried to scam me out of $85. I talked to State Farm Roadside to get a tow. They charged me an extra fee because my mechanic was over the milage allotted for my coverage. But General Towing said that didn’t matter, and I’d have to pay the additional $85. The woman I spoke to was rude and dismissive, and didn’t care that my insurance was covering the tow. After talking to roadside again, they explained that General Towing should not have called me and that they are very well aware that they are supposed to negotiate the difference directly with State Farm.

This guy came about 20-25 mins after I called up him. He hardly took 2 mins to open up my locked car. Thank you !

Horrible. Towed my vehicle without keys did over 1k in damage to drive shaft due to there negligence. When i contacted i was told they have no liability after they dragged my Cadillac.

Rating is 1 star because they do not have negative stars on the review. General Towing is on Chrysler roadsides preferred service provider list and probably agreed to a towing rate with Chrysler roadside. When General Towing was dispatched to me via Chrysler Roadside they charged me $150 for my tow. For a 6 mile tow to the nearest dealership. I assume they charged me because they do not like what Chrysler pays them per tow, so General towing assumes the customer will get paid by Chrysler and it is acceptable to charge the customer. You don’t have much choice but to pay when you are sitting stranded in the middle of the road.While it is true Chrysler will eventually pay me back, I am out the $150 for nearly 30 days because General Towing does not honor their agreements with Roadside services.I will never do business with General Towing again.You should find everything you need to know about this company in their responses to bad reviews defensive and totally void of responsibility.

DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE AT YOUR OWN RISK! CHECK WITH YOUR INSURANCE BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING WITH THEM.I have full coverage auto and these guys tried to charge me a direct fee outside my insurance. My insurance provider (progressive) called to inform them but they insisted that they be able to charge this fee to me. Progressive canceled them and wrote a report saying they are attempting to extort money from insured customers. Ive had a car towed from the exact place Im at to the same dealer with the same insurance and never had an out of pocket cost.🤦🏿‍♂️In response to them (I see they responded),Your comment makes no sense! So because you were allegedly shorted by progressive in a totally separate situation, you feel that its okay to charge me a fee preemptively and charge my insurance? You tried to double-dip and were caught. Your mistake was that you assumed I was an ignorant consumer.

Got into an accident, tow truck driver wouldnt tow my car to my house which was 5 minutes away because he was the only driver in the area, however he towed my car 30 minutes away to his impound yard and charged me $450 for towing and storage overnight. These people are criminals who prey off people who are shocked after an accident.Edit: The owner responded. I got into an accident in the middle of July during broad daylight, not on a snowy and icy evening. They made up an excuse just to make themselves look better. Do not trust this company. Outstanding service. During the morning of the early Michigan stay at home my taurus broke down in the south end of Redford in the early morning hours. I had called General Towing not realizing they were in Auburn Hills. The driver i spoke with suggested calling someone near me as he was 40 miles away. After unsuccessfully trying to find someone to come out i called back, because the driver told me if needed hed come out. Given he was 40 miles away he arrived in under an hour and determined my vehicle needed a jump and that the starter hadnt gone out. The driver charged me a fair price even though he drove out here to service me. I would most definitely call General again if the need arises again. Outstanding and professional service.

Great Customer Service! I called needing a tow and Dom was very accommodating and had a truck out in less than 10 minutes for the best price in our sorrounding area. We called the next morning to have the car towed to the shop and once again same service! Well definitely be using them for all of our towing needs. Love supporting our local businesses that provide great customer service!

My tire blew and I couldn’t for the life of me get one of the rusted lugnut off to change the tire. I call and their dispatcher was super helpful. She told me that someone will get to me in about 20mins but the tow guy showed up in about 10mins instead! He changed my tire in less than 15 mins and I was more than happy to pay them.

Simply outstanding service! Sam, the towing technician did a great job of loading and unloading my Sons 1991 Toyota MR2. He took his time properly setting up the tow. He explained the details of what he was going to do and why. My Sons car is very important to him and Sam gave the (much appreciated) extra effort to show that he cared about the car too. I will always ask for Sam first, to do any future towing. Hes an outstanding person and technician. Really knew what he was doing. Thanks Sam!

People were nice and when you are picking up a crashed vehicle thats important.. The cost for one night was ridiculous in my mind.. And cash only.. But what can you do, you are at their mercy. But again, they were nice people.

I needed a jump tonight and used my State Farm roadside assistance, they sent General Towing. Best roadside service I have ever had. It took forever to get my car started but the driver kept at it and let me warm up in his truck as he kept at it. After a little over an hour he got it up and running! Great dedication and the best customer service Ive ever had from a tow company.

These guys are professional and courteous. After waiting for 5 hours for AAA to get a tow truck to my location I decided to call General. They quoted me over the phone, came in 20 minutes and loaded my roadster as if it was their own. Its refreshing to know that some people still do exactly what they say they will do and at a reasonable price. I forgot to get the drivers name but he was excellent, thorough, and careful. Amazing job.

On the fast lane side of I-75 with a blowout, I waited for a tow. Very unnerving.When the driver (Billy) arrived, he was smiling, positive, professional and quick to address my safety by instructing me where I should stand (he continually instructed me throughout the process to insure my safety). Billy was a PRO! He continued smiling as he quickly got us both out of that situation, towed me to one tire place that ended up not having the tire and then to another place after he assisted me in finding a shop with the correct tire. SO far over and above and I truly felt like I had a partner in handling this dilemma. Few people are this amazing at personal communication and working with the public. I couldnt wait to get home and post a review about the amazing job by General Towing and of course, Billy. Thank you SO much!

Had the unfortunate luck to blow a head gasket during the Woodward cruise. Called General and they sent out a driver named Joe with a brand new flatbed. Joe was very professional and accommodating taking time to make sure the tow was done with care and explaining everything during the process. He was extremely personable as well. If youre ever in the unlucky event to need a tow then these are the people to call. Thanks Joe!

Very professional and nice people. Car broke down a mile from our home. Bob was there on time. Our parking in our trailer park is difficult and he made sure it was in the right spot. Told me where the starter was on the car (that’s most likely the issue) and that they probably have a part that they could give us a deal on. Definitely would use them again if needed. Very affordable and friendly.

If I could give negative stars I would. Charged an absurd amount for a very short tow, attempted to charge me for “environmental” cleanup that never happened, and insisted on cash payment after the fact after never mentioning this upfront. Most importantly, I just watched them tow my 4WD vehicle without a flatbed “because the boss said to.” If you value your time, money, or vehicle, do not use General Towing.

I have utilized this companies services on multiple occasions to tow my companys locksmith van. They are on-time, professional and extremely reasonably priced! I have used other tow truck companies in the past and spent hours waiting for a truck that was slow to arrive and unclear of what they are towing or worse how to hook up to my vehicle. I highly recommend General Towing to anyone in need of a speedy tow!

Called to try to get a receipt for a Tow they did in August, person on the other end of the phone said it would be $25.00 to produce a receipt and wasnt willing to physically write me a new one because the paper they would write it on costs money. Never in my life have I heard of a place charging someone for an additional copy of their receipt or being unwilling to write a new one. Since the car that was towed went to a repair shop and warranty would reimburse for the tow, there is absolutely no insurance involved. Now this business is falsely accusing people of committing insurance scams furthering my skepticism of their business practices. The date was August 15th which was given in the phone call to them. Absolutely no reason a duplicate copy with “duplicate” written or stamped on the receipt couldn’t be produced to help out a good customer.

They were affordable and punctual.

This company came and towed our car from Byers towing. The man that did our towing really blessed us!! Byers charged us an extra 65 to get the car out which we didnt have. We started calling all of our family while he waited. We are truly grateful for him and thank him from the bottom of our hearts!! We will definitely recommend this company to anyone that needs it. Super Fast and Friendly. My kids were extremely worried, but the driver took his time and explained everything to them and calmed their fears. The owner Zeke was more than accommodating of all my car seats and crying kids. When your family vehicle blows up on the side of 75 with all your kids in it. It was good to feel cared for. I was driving on Woodward ave when I noticed my engine stopped running, good thing I was at a stop light, but very dangerous, a gentleman named Doug called General Towing in Bloomfield Hills for me, they came within 15 minutes and towed my car to the Dealership. I never leave reviews but Sam and General Towing saved my life. I broke down 30 min from my house and I was stressed out when they told me it might be 30 mins+ to wait.(It was rush hour and I was basically in an intersection).However Sam came and swooped me up 20 min later and drove me back home. We had a great chat, became friends and I got a very reasonable price for how far they took me. Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately I was in a wreck and the police called Genral Towing to pick up my truck. Long story short it was a big headache. When I showed up to grab my wallet they said that I not allowed to grab my things from my vehicle. I politely asked if I could grab my wallet and they did oblige me. When I got there I asked if I could grab my hunting knife too and against policy Zeke (the employees who had escorted me) said that I could but nothing else. Not only that but my wallet was on the dash wide open with my money in it untouched. Great company with understanding and honest personal. 5 stars!

Needed help changing a tire on my pick up truck and was told my truck was to heavy for their tow truck like are you serious my floor jack has no problem lifting it a tow truck cant do the job lazy drivers!

I had to get home for an emergency and after explaining my situation they said it should be half hr .the driver showed up in 16 min and was awesome and very concerning of my situation and gave me a ride as well. They will OVERCHARGE you, the friendly talk was good until the bill, granted it may not be the people who actually tows the vehicles, but I definitely felt cheated. I work hard for my money and do not like giving up undeservingly. If you have good insurance they are gonna over chage you and hold your car for ransom. Low level extortion.

Spoke on the phone with a very nasty lady by the name of Sandy. She claimed to be the manager and I really hope not with the way she behaved over the phone. Very poor customer service.

Im only rating 1 star because 0 isnt an option!!!!TERRIBLE customer service. I ordered a tow through AAA, they told me it would be 45 minutes. So almost an hour went by so I called and they said it would be 3-4 HOURS! !! No-one called to let me know or was able to rectify the situation because I couldnt wait that long. The person on the phone was very rude and blamed AAA. would not recommend. AVOID THIS PLACE IF POSSIBLE.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! I got a flat tire on my way home from work last night. I didnt have the proper 4 -way with me at the time. I type in google for local Tow Sevices in Aurban Hills and these jokers pop up, so I called. They send some poor, lazy, no work ethic guy who only trys to break free one lug nut and couldnt break it free. He didnt attempt to break free any other lug nuts. He simply tells me theres nothing I can do but tow it, hook fee is $65 and $5 a mile after that or you can pay me $25 for show up fee and figure something else out. I gave him $25 and had someone bring me the proper 4-way. I broke free all the lug nuts with out maximum effort! Oh yeah he even tried to break free the one lug nut with a snap on impact gun. A joke of a tow service and clown tow truck drivers

Was told the vehicle would be taken to their Bloomfield Hills location (~1mi from the accident scene) only for it to end up in Auburn Hills. Attempted to charge for fluid clean-up that never occurred. When releasing the (4wd) vehicle, they did not flatbed it.

Do not call these folks. Wanted the car towed home, driver stated he could not due to volume. Left us no choice. Go to pick up vehicle and the driver lies that he wasnt told to deliver it home. Now they double the price with storage that wasnt asked for.

Wouldnt tow my car because its a hybrid. All hybrid/electric car owners, dont waste your time calling. Especially because they were rude on the phone too.
