Such a sad time in life, and yet such a beautiful experience with Capt. Stu and his beautiful boat the Metamorphosis. My experience with this charter was the burial of my husbands ashes in the Atlantic Ocean. I remember my husband saying to me just throw my ashes in the ocean. Well that did not set very well with me. The Metamorphosis is a boat that holds 6 people plus obviously Capt. Stu. Well we had 12 family members. Capt. Stu worked up a plan where we could do 2 runs out to divide the group. He offered a fair price for this additional service. And may I add that he also offered his service on fathers day of this year. He has an absolutely beautiful sound system on the boat. Which if I knew it was going to be as good as it was I would have asked him to play all my husbands favorite songs during the whole time. But of course when we stopped the boat I was able to play the song Goodbye by Kenny Rogers, and also a song that he would always sing to me Lady also by Kenny Rogers. The both of us grew up in South Jersey and were married for 49 years. So my daughter and I traveled from Charlotte NC just to do this in Atlantic City. Thank you Captain Stu for your wonderful personality, your kindness with the arrangements, and also the roses which was such a beautiful touch. God bless you for what you do and the memories you leave the families.

I really did not know how to go about scattering my cousins ashes as she requested. We are not really boat people and I was concerned about the whole process. Captain Stu was very understanding and explained everything in detail. Despite the choppy weather (at least that is what it was to me) he made it a very pleasant experience and a wonderful way to honor her wishes. We even got to see dolphins, so I feel like they were guides.

The boat was very well-maintained and clean, and Captain Stu was courteous and respectful. He instructed us how to scatter the ashes correctly, additionally provided flowers to scatter, and played appropriate background music. He also read a poem for us. My family and I enjoyed a wonderful tour on the Metamorphosis with Captain Stewart on August 14, 2020. Our group of six included my wife and me, my son and his wife, and my two young grandsons. During these pandemic conditions, the ship was spotless. Captain Stewart wore a mask and instructed us where we needed to wear a mask on the boat to maintain social distancing, and where we could remove them safely. Life jackets were available for all of us, including sizes for my grandsons. We received a detailed safety orientation prior to commencing with the excursion.Having assessed the choppy ocean conditions prior to our trip, Captain Stewart took us for a limited excursion in the ocean along the Atlantic City beach, supplemented by an interesting history of Atlantic City, and then we spent the bulk of the time in the quiet waters around Brigantine. The trip was a highlight for my family.Arranging this excursion was very easy. I found the Metamorphosis website online, left a message with Captain Stewart, and he returned my call. He was extremely accommodating. The initial deposit and final payment after the trip were both paid with Venmo. If weather conditions forced a trip cancellation, the deposit would have been returned. Also, when initially our possible group exceeded the six person capacity of the Metamorphosis, Captain Stewart was gracious enough to refer me to one of his colleagues. It was a pleasure to deal with Captain Stewart, and I recommend him and the Metamorphosis for anybody seeking a private charter in the Atlantic City area.

I hired Captain Stu to help me swim the 22 miles around Absecon Island back in May. What an adventure! As a marathon swimmer who grew up in New Jersey and used to lifeguard on LBI, swimming around New Jerseys barrier islands has long been a special goal for me. Captain Stu helped make it happen in fantastic fashion. The swim was hard, but he was incredibly knowledgeably, helpful, professional and supportive throughout the process. We were so fortunate to find Captain Stu thru Trip Advisor. Our mother passed away in Florida earlier this year, but due to family scheduling conflicts we couldn’t release Mom’s ashes at that time. We want to thank Captain Stu for the easiest, gentlest, most respectful scattering of ashes at sea that he provided. Mom recently died and her only wishes were that we scattered her ashes with dad, who had been gone for 18 years. She loved gambling in Atlantic City, and we found a little bit of humor in the idea of her final resting place be within sight of her favorite place on earth. Captain Stu was very responsive, worked with us with dates and times, provided guidance on things we could do on board... generally making a sad and emotion-filled task very gentle and easy. Costs were a TENTH of what it would be for a cremation burial. He also provided a bouquet of red roses, soft drinks and a great history of moms favorite hobby, the Atlantic City casinos.Im not a real good sailor, and the trip out was quick, and the trip back was easy as he adapted his speeds so that we didnt even feel the chop of the water. We are not a stand-on-ceremony type of family and he understood completely. He showed us some poems and we selected one and he very sweetly read it for us. None of us could have gotten through it ourselves, and he did a stellar job for us!His boat is docked by the Borgata marina, so it was a quick hop to get to him, so that was very easy too. I booked a cruise as a birthday gift for my boyfriend, but unfortunately he got sick and also the weather that day was inclement, so we canceled it. I just want to say that since the first time I contacted Captain Stewart Rosen he was really helpful and kept in contact with me all the time. He offered me a full refund of the deposit due to the bad weather, so there’s no risk at all if the weather doesn’t allow to cruise, either yo can reschedule or take the deposit. Now we are looking forward to take the cruise for this great service we have received and all the care from the captain.

We surprised my father for his birthday and Chartered with Captain Stu. Our time with him was forever memorable! You are so personable, patient, knowledgable and truly catered to our needs. Spent a wonderful day fishing on the Metamorphosis. Captain Stu was perfect. He helped the novice fisherman like me (he saw I was struggling with hooking the minnows for bait and he jumped to the rescue), but let the experienced fishermen do their own thing. He helped select the proper tackle from his impressive selection of rods and reels and made sure our rig was perfect for the conditions. When the novice fisherman caught fish (of which there were many because Capt. Stu had the locations of various fish-laden wrecks pre-programmed into the ships computer) he helped get them off the hook for us without making us feel like a bunch of rookies. Knowing Capt. Stu is a commercially-rated captain made me feel secure we would safely get home from our trip and gave me confidence that even my land-lubber wife and daughters would enjoy a future trip to the ocean on the spotlessly clean Metamorphosis. The only downside of the day was that it happened so late in the year that we will have to wait until next season to go out on another trip with Captain Stu.
