The people that run this place are very pretentious and charge a lot of money for services. In fact, they will nickel and dime you for just about everything, including the preparation of the report. If you have autism and need an evaluation, beware, these people could care less if you are under employed and unemployed. Whats more is that they dont take medicare and medicaid. However, they have said they have payment plans.

Very disappointed in the conversation and follow up response I had with Caroline Sherrill. My daughter was recently diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD. Went to her for a second opinion on everything. I sent the psychoeducational report prior to my appointment and even called to see if she received. They confirmed it was received and I asked if she could please review before we arrived. The appointment is $250 and I needed to make the most of it. Arrived to have her tell me she only works a few days a week and her days are very busy. Too busy to read the report before we arrived. After she congratulated my exhusband sitting next to me on his recent engagement, we gave a little history on how we ended up here. So the conversation was basically explaining the report and a very very brief history for my daughter. I communicated I was very confused and putting my daughter on medication was an emotional decision. Even got emotional. Didn’t even offer me a tissue. Just looked at me while upset and corrected me on mispronouncing a name of a school. I have a lot of questions and need to know all the options we have. She said I’ll read the report and get back with you. Her email basically said I agree with the report medicate her, get better tutoring, and find a new school. And if you have any questions let me know. I sent questions. Her response..schedule another appointment. Complete waste of time and money and honestly made things worse for me. Insensitive and not someone to go to if you’re trying to work through questions about a recent diagnosis or needing reassurance regarding ADHD and medication.

On two occasions, weve worked with Dr. Sherrill from BIA for psychological educational testing - shes approachable and down to earth. With each test, our experience was very good - Dr. Sherrill is thorough with her evaluation, questioning and summary of the results. One of the things we liked about working with her is the network of resources she has on speed dial. From follow-up help from other clinicians or groups, Dr. Sherrill has an extensive array of connections for follow-up needs. While its true the testing is expensive (unless its covered through a public school, I can confirm it is everywhere), we found that insurers will likely cover a significant portion of the testing provided you seek pre-authorization in advance. Unfortunately, this is not something insurers clearly spell out, however, I have found them to be rational about the lack of pre-authorization and they gave us options on submitting a retro review. It can be frustrating because handling it through insurance by yourself is not as simple as a visit to the regular doctors office, but its manageable. Thats the price tag of going out of network to competent professionals who know what theyre doing.
