Stephanie is amazing ! The best men’s haircut I have ever received. She is super personable and actually listens to what you like about your hair to begin with and then does the job. Can’t say enough about her. Easy pull up parking in your in although it can be a bit limited during peak times of traffic. Cool retro industrial vibe to the interior.

I recently visited The Shave for a haircut for the 1st time and I was very impressed with their service and quality of work. I booked an appointment with John and he did an outstanding job and gave me a great haircut and also shaped up my beard very nicely. I would recommend this place to anyone needing a new barbershop to go to, very much worth the price and experience. I will def return to get a haircut hair again.

Ive had the same barber for years and has been unavailable recently. Booked a haircut elsewhere and I knew within minutes it wasnt going well. The person was nice, knew how to use scissors very well, but the shaving, buzzing, blending the sides - unfortunately not so good. I walked into The Shave with a cap on and said Please help me. They worked me in right away and Brooke did an absolutely amazing job of correcting the error from the other shop and gave me a haircut and customer service experience that I couldnt keep to myself. Thank you again and I will return.

The font desk staff are very nice and do a great job representing this shop over the phone and in person.I almost never write reviews (good or bad) and Ive put off doing this one, but my beard trim at The Shave was so awful I do feel I need to warn potential customers. My barber buzzed the center two inches of my mustache super short and left the rest of the mustache untouched and long creating what I can only describe as a mustache mullet. In the six years Ive been getting beard trims (at a different shop) Ive never seen anything like it and I was honestly shocked any barber would even consider doing what this guy did.The body of my beard was very lopsided and a large chunk of the under beard was cut out, again leaving half untouched, so it was like there was just a random hole in my beard. In fairness, I should have taken the time to inspect the under side of my beard while I was there so I could have asked him to gut the other half. That way it would at least be more even, but when the time came to check out his work, I was more than ready to leave. The barber was also just flat out rude.Having said all that, I do feel for barbers and others who havent been able to work as much this year due to COVID, so I still tipped the guy. In retrospect, I definitely shouldnt have and I do not recommend anyone ever go to this place for a beard trim. Ever.

If I could give this place Zero Stars, I would! I don’t normally give bad or good reviews but in this case I have to because my experience was awful. I received the worst haircut I’ve ever gotten in my life. The female who cut my hair did not listen to anything I said, she did what she wanted to do, and on top of that, she held a conversation with her co-worker about one of the staff members testing positive for Covid-19. At that point I became very nervous and wanted to exit the building. I will never step foot in that barbershop again in my life. If you don’t want your hair messed up, Don’t go to this unprofessional barbershop. The Worst!

Barbers are awesome (especially you Marlon). Cashiers are friendly. My only problem with this establishment is the front door guy that deals with appointments. When I first called a couple months ago to see if my barber was open this guy told me it’s first come first serve so I came and luckily it was an empty shop so I got my guy. I come today and asked if my barber was open and the guy gives me an attitude about how it’s a call ahead and the next open slot is at 3 pm (I was at the shop at 11AM so no thanks). I ask the guy if there’s any slots for the next day and he gets an attitude again and says tomorrow is a whole new day and to check tomorrow. I like the shop and most of its employees but something is up with this guy conveniently every time I enter the shop. 4 stars is the best I’ll give it until he’s gone or fixes his attitude problem.

Thats nice, of course, but what really matters is the cut, right? Marlon gave me what maybe the best cut Ive ever gotten. Definitely the best beard trim. I used to go to a salon in Midtown and had a great stylist, named Julie, who always gave me great haircuts. Then she left and i spent almost a year going to that same salon, getting my head butchered. When i walked in to Shave Barbershop, there was Julie, giving somebody a fire haircut. So, I can definitely vouch for 2 of the stylists at Shave. Plan to spend around 40 plus with tip, 50 plus if you have a beard. A great value, considering the work theyre putting in, and the awesome feeling of a fresh new cut that looks great.

I really wanted to like this place. I moved from DC, where high end barber shops have been around for awhile, and I love the concept. The first 2 visits I sat with Patricia, and although the whole experience left something to be desired, I wasnt at all unhappy with the end results. Good enough to get me to come back, but I still wanted to try a new stylist. This time I sat with Wilhelm. I went in with fairly long hair and a full beard. I was clear that I just wanted everything cleaned up and evened out, but I was still trying to grow my hair and beard out more. By the time he sat me up I had medium-short hair and a goatee. And the goatee was lopsided, which meant he needed to shave even more off to even it out. By this point there was nothing that could be done, so I didnt complain and just thanked him and paid. But Im set back months from getting my hair as long and beard as full as I intend. I havent decided if Ill ever go back, because there is still one or two stylists I was considering based on their bios. Unfortunately neither were working that day, and I left it up to the shop manager.

Had a good experience here. I was a little hesitant to move away from a standard ma-and-pa barber shop which is cheaper.Does my haircut loo twice as good for twice the price? No, but it is definitely a cut above most of the other haircuts Ive had. Then again, I tried on 3 separate occasions to get in the door but their wait list is often very long. I appreciate the demand for their services but I work on weekdays and cant just free myself up for a 4-hour window on a given weekend either. You definitely need to call ahead and if youre someone who can be available in the middle of the day on a weekday then thats the way to go to dodge the wait times. That being said, my barber was very personable, attentive, and regularly checking in to make sure she knew what I wanted out of the cut. The environment is comfortable and relaxed and everyone was friendly. I dont know if I would go here every time I need a cut, but its definitely a nice luxury every once in a while and worth the price!

This place is awesome. Im so glad to finally see Atlanta getting a true barber shop like this. For those of you who remember the days of going to the barber with your father or grandfather, you understand. To those of you who dont - this is NOT a salon. It will never be a salon. The staff is friendly enough to allow you to go grab lunch or a few beers and call you when your turn is up. Most places would make you wait there. Furthermore, the barbers are exceptionally trained and talented in their craft. For anyone who travels to other major cities, you ll see this kind of shop all around. Great cuts, but I cant keep coming here without being able to make appointments. Even when calling ahead wait times can vary wildly, and I have been burned a few times where I need a cut on a specific day after I leave work (when Im about to leave town for example) I call 45 min out and they say call back in 15-20 min, then I call back and get hit with a 2 hour wait. If your schedule is super flexible, that might work for you but it doesnt for me. I understand the owners opinion on the policy, and I hate to stop coming here, but I think the inability to make appointments is losing more business than it is gaining.

Excellent haircuts, but terrible beard service (ironic being called the shave?).. Overall experience was very nice; Clean, helpful, and friendly staff. My reasoning for giving it 4 starts not 5 was due to the fact that it was $12 for my beard to be cleaned up and it was sub par at best.. They used a straight razor, but it looked like a clipper was used.. i had significant long stubble left that i had to clean it up with a razor when i got home, defeating the entire purpose of the service..) I have high standards, but at $50 w/ tip for a barber shop i feel high standards are expected!

CALL AHEAD! Ive gotten a dozen haircuts here over the years. While the shop aesthetic is great and their barbers are certainly above par, the price doesnt justify the level of service. Their system for waiting doesnt agree with me. They say that its first come, first serve, yet you can call ahead. The last time I can in there was only one person in from of me, but they told me the first available haircut was hours away. I then discovered that you can call ahead, which was frustrating because thats clearly not what first come, first serve means. Its 2018: I recommend either allowing appointments to be made or actually employee a first come first serve system. Or just go to Rudys or some of the other great shops in the area that use these pragmatic planning tools.

I had been going here regularly for a year beginning in late 2015. I would always go to Helene, who always did a fantastic job. This past December however, was very busy, and I realized the terribleness of their reservation system.Despite what it says on the website, when it gets busy, you CANNOT just walk in any time. Instead, they prefer you to call when they open at 10am to get put on they days waiting list. When the list is full, no more calls, no more walk-ins. What this effectively does is create a day-of appointment list that fills extremely quickly and doesnt require people to even be physically present to make one, like a classic barbershop they seek to emulate. After 5 attempts in two weeks to try to get in, four calls in the early afternoon and once as a desperate last attempt walk-in, I decided to not come back. Their insistence that their reservation system is not broken was further justification for my decision. Oddly enough, when I asked where else I could go to get a haircut, their response was that they cannot say because that is a conflict of interest.I never got a bad haircut here, but when it gets busy, have a backup.

A service based business (e.g. restaurants, electricians, plumbing, barber shops) should be convenient to the consumers, not to the business itself. To have such an unorganized method of scheduling clients for an appointment with the first available barber, makes this barber shop much less desirable. Its clear that The Shave enjoys a sense of high demand from its clientele, but the stores management should improve its scheduling systems to make it more friendly for new clients.I dont know whether or not its the stores management or the atmosphere of the shop itself that has an inflated sense of pride, arrogance, or exclusivity, but the time I spent on the waiting list is absolutely infuriating. They claim they accommodate walk-ins, which is true, but it seems like a passive aggressive joke when youre sitting there for 1-2 hours waiting to be called. They say that there is a waiting list, where once youre on it, you can go about your day-to-day business and be called by the shop once the next available barber is ready. But when you never get that phone call, it begs the question: is this some sort of a joke? A service based business that has absolutely no scheduling structure? Why should I wait around all day for a phone call from The Shave, when I want to get in and out of a barber shop within no more than an hour?Barber shops have historically been convenient: you walk in, put your name on the list, sit down, grab Time Magazine or Rolling Stone, and wait until a barber is available. That takes an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes, tops. But when you walk in to The Shave and the host says the next available walk-in appointment will be two days from now and you go back two days later, and there is STILL no open slot, something needs to be done about the way they manage the store.

Seems like most people have problems with the reservation system - I thought it was very reasonable. However, my cut was sub-par. My barber was a tall white guy with colorful tats on his arms, but he spent under 20 minutes on my hair and when I asked for a true skin fade, he gave me a fade from the 1 and didnt use a straight razor to line up my sideburns - actually, there was no line up. It seemed like he was high the whole time, and barely talked to me, or when he did he would just stop talking midway through his sentence. My haircut was average, not bad, not great - for $30, I expected a lot better, or even at least hair washing. It seemed like the focus was on being hipster to attract customers, but the cuts arent where they should be.

Came here on my first trip ever to Atlanta. Got sat immediately with the very lovely Lana. She did an amazing job! Definitely one of the better haircuts Ive had in awhile. If I ever find myself back in Atlanta, I will ask for her. Others should as well!

This place keeps getting mores and more unbearable every time I visit. It’s time to find a new barbershop. I heard freedom barbershop is pretty good so I’ll probably head there next time.

I had the barber that looks like Rutledge Wood. Good conversation... One of the worst haircuts Ive ever had in my life and I even showed a picture of what I wanted... My expectations were high as the place is nice, but after waiting 2 hours, I would have been better off at a supercuts...

Showed up and asked for my normal haircut (skin fade). Was told that skin fades were no longer a regular haircut but were a specialty haircut that had to be purchased with a package that includes shoulder massage and shampoo etc. I told the barber I just wanted to get a skin fade and that was it but she said it is not a la carte and that if i were to instead get a half size longer fade (0.5 fade) the haircut would be $12 cheaper. I asked why this would be and was told that to go down to the skin takes much longer than other haircuts (have never heard this before). Nonetheless, I agreed to the obsurd $40 skin fade (a cut I consistently get for $20) which didn’t even take as long as the guy next to me who was getting a standard $28 haircut. Three stars because I actually do like the haircut but will not be coming back because of this incredibly odd business practice.

I either get my hair cut by Matt or Grace, and have never had a bad cut since I started going there. The common issue with other reviewers is the fact you cant make an appointment, but given that so many people were not turning up to bookings I can understand why they do not offer this option. Get over it.Hands down the best cut youll get in the city.

Not a cheap haircut, but they certainly make sure you get what you pay for. Ive never had a better haircut. Michael was friendly and provided great advice. Its great to see businesses like this which value service and an authentic atmosphere.

Weird to review a barbershop, right? Wrong. In my middle years I have elected the short and snappy buzz cut with two sizes of guards on clippers. I used to get in where I fit in in terms of appointments and couldn’t always make shave work for me. 7 or 8 mediocre haircuts later I’ve been back and finding a way to get in where the folks know clippers from scissors and can see that I know what I want and are happy to provide it for me. I have no barber of preference, it seems they may empower their folks to use clippers. Amazing. Parking can be tough, but you can usually get a spot next to the highland inn, shave is not listed on the sign of allowables, but they are in Highland Row. If you have a wait pop in to Youngblood and find a surprise for your sweetie.

This place gives the best mens haircuts in Atlanta. The only drawback is that it is extremely packed. I come here right when they open their doors because I dont want to wait a couple of hours to get my haircut. I love the hot towel over my face and the old school shave at the end.
