I have been using Western Union since 1989. After the last transfer I tried to do to a longtime friend in the Philippines, I will no longer do business with these people. The transfer I tried was stopped and I received a text message to call Western Union. So I call and the Western Union Rep said that I was randomly chosen because there was a lot of scams and ID theft going on with Western Union. I can see the necessity of this. The Western Union Rep starts asking what I do for a job, how old I am, what my birth date is, what my SSN is, how I know the person Im sending money too, what her age is, what is her profession is, how I knew her, and when the last time I saw her. My response to him was that his questions were too intrusive and I refused to answer them. I stated to him that his questions were a violation of my 4th Amendment rights and he should stop if he wanted to be part of a lawsuit. He hung up the phone and he had my Western Union account banned. Im fine with this. I know Western Union is not going to care about losing customers or let alone see this review. In short, there are many other money transfer companies that would love to have your business.
