UG Whites claims to be a hardware store, but its more of a massive southern activity factory for the whole family, woth hard-to-find items such as rare candy, model trains, and more. The atmosphere remimds me, at least, of a combination of a log cabin and my grandmothers house. The employees are nice, as always, and the prices could be better, but for what you find, its barely an issue. Overall, 9/10, will go again, probably as a part of the Christmas Open House.

A true Gem. Spent a couple of hours in here. It gives you a feeling you are on vacation. Found some great stuff. We are already talking about going back.

Great little dry goods country store. They have a Large verify of hard to find candy Hope they continue to have the bag your own candy isle.

This store is charming and an essential stop in Athens. If you are on I-65, plan a stop because you will be glad you did. From homemade truffles, to unique jams, to adorable dishtowels and aprons, pocket knives to toy train sets, there is something for everyone. The customer service is outstanding. Opened in 1917, this store could be used in a film because the counters, stairs, and floors are perfectly vintage. Ill visit again soon.

Cool stuff. Wildly overpriced. The chocolate candies at their candy counter are $4.00 a piece. $4 for a bite size chocolate candy! There isn’t a price advertised so you don’t realize it until you are paying and left with your jaw ajar.

Love this cute mercantile with Athens merchandise. Its a must stop in for a fun look around and unique purchases. They have a ton of pocket knives, lots of old candy favorites, sauces and jellies, and good outdoor items. We loved the old timey coke machine!

This is a MUST if you are in the area or traveling through, it is the quintessential old time 5 & dime with one of the Best selections of Case knives in Northern Alabama. I Pastor a Church in the City, and every time we have a visiting minister or guest, I always bring them to U.G. White and the ALWAYS find it an Absolute highlight of the trip.

Great local business with lots of unique and local products. Its one of our favorite places to go and get good for people. They sell knives, soaps, lotions, clothing, candy, carry iron products, just about everything you could imagine. Just like an old country store.

This was like taking a step back in time. Quality products and a traditional, nostalgic feel. If youre in Athens, its definitely worth the trip.

One of the neatest places to visit and shop. Ive been shopping here since 1985 and the updates in recent years have made it even better. There is a lot of useful stuff, nice outdoor clothes / gear, and unique gifts at a reasonable price. There is also a great restaurant calls LuVicis next door.

Absolutely amazing store. Incredibly unique! I find something new each time I go in. Great selection, wonderful people, overall amazing place to shop at.

The store is in a historical building and it has an adjoining door to LuVicis Restaurant. They have vintage style things: outerwear and gear, candy, soaps, novelty toys, bikes, and many other unique items. The people who work there are friendly and helpful.

Its a neat old time hardware store. The prices are high and selection is limited.Its very neat if you have never been, like stepping back 50 years in the past.

It was an enjoyable step back in time. Saw small children marveling over then items. Thank you for keeping this alive.
