Putting signs in our yard without asking? They do that. Bad construction that could probably be better done by a 2 year old? Check. Bunch of whack-os who dont know how one way traffic works? Since Intelliwave merged with Point Broadband this service has gone completely down hill. If you enjoy having intermittent service while having to contact combative customer service every week then you will love Point Broadband. Over the years I had Intelliwave service at 3 different addresses in Athens county and always had great internet and impeccable customer service. This all changed with the merger with Point Broadband. If your considering internet with this provider do yourself a favor and go with Spectrum or Frontier.

Doug did our install he was very professional worked with me on location of the dish and took the time to explain everything to me. I work in the utility field and know how important it is to have great people in the field interacting with customers and Doug is top notch !! So far service is faster than what we had but looking forward to updates/ upgrades in the area for faster service.

Install was fine, but this company isnt honest.We were promised 25 mgb download speed. We are getting between TWO and FIVE.Weve called weekly for 4 weeks. Initially told that the nearest tower was damaged. Now we are told that isnt true. John from customer service cussed at my husband and basically called him a liar.Horrible customer service. Dishonest company. It feels as though they provided us with good internet service for 3 months to hook us and then they throttled service based on usage. I just did a speed test so I could attach a pic.... It had a hard time even connecting to wifi to do the test. So disappointed that we entrusted them for our internet service.

In a day and age where customer service seems to be unimportant, it is refreshing to have such an amazing experience with a company! Every single person I spoke with and every person that had anything to do with the install were so friendly and really went above and beyond!! Doug did our install and was fantastic! I highly recommend this company and wish other companies would take a page from their book👍👍

Thank you to both of the gentlemen who completed my installation (Greg and I do not remember the other gentlemans name). They were both extremely professional and took the time to explain what they were doing an how to operate the new equipment. We went from a 1MB with our previous service provider to 25MB with Intelliwave. I have only had great experiences with everyone I have come into contact with at Intelliwave. Keep up the great service!

Had to reschedule the first installation because of very light rain (which they knew it was raining) after taking a day of vacation only to take a second day of vacation for a rescheduled appointment. Installer shows up, runs a test and says the tower that I can connect to is full....how unprofessional and a waste of time and money. Too bad I cant give negative stars.In response to the company response. I did not contact you......you contacted me to solicit my business. In good faith, I trusted that you had adequate capacity.....which clearly you did not. When I complained verbally after two vacation days, your representive said they felt they could offer this service based upon a best guess via maps (exact quote). Best guess is not a business plan and TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Secondly, the company knew I had a 2 story house before the technician arrived the first time. If they had satalite maps like they stated, they would know I had trees.....right? I guess you dont have almost a third of your recorded reviews at one star for no reason....leason learned.

Living in a rural area, and having limited options for internet, point broadband has impressed me so much. The actual internet service has worked great for what we use it for. Streaming netflix and using it for cameras, we have had no issues at all.But the customer service is absolutely fantastic! And that is just as important as having good service. The installer did whatever to please us as far as putting the equipment where we wanted. Every time I have called to talk to them they are so friendly. They even called me weeks later to check in and make sure we were happy. No contract. Different speeds available. We are so happy we didnt go another option.

After years of fighting with the other internet providers in my area and trying to even get service, Intelliwave was a godsend. The speeds are great. Every once in a while, we have an outage and, after its restored, our connection suffers. However a quick phone call results in them just resetting our router or the tower and its back up in 5 minutes. They even came out for a service call once just to give us a better receiver and get it in a better location (we live where a lot of trees can block the signal). Im giving 5 stars because their customer service is spectacular..

I’ve been a customer of theirs for right around 5 years! If you’d like to pay for a service and not receive what is promised this is definitely the company you’re looking for! If you don’t believe me please feel free to log into your Facebook and look them up and read through the comment sections on their post all of the negative comments about their business is hidden and a lot of posts have comments but when you go to read them none of them show, which leads me to believe they hide all negative comments! The internet is slow and that’s if it’s working only works 50% of the time. Wish there was another service that was in our area.

Just recently got Intelliwave service installed. So far so good. The install tech was super nice and knowledgeable. The radio receiver is very small compared to a satellite dish. I am very happy with service so far. I have only had a couple of slow downs with the download speed. Hopefully those slow downs are few and far between.

Ive been an Intelliwave Fiber Customer for around 9 months now and I LOVE it! I have never seen speeds so fast. There are 4 heavy data users in my home and we never bog down or buffer anything. My service is always reliable and their customer service is bar NONE. Hands down the best internet provider in Ohio. Absolutely the only company making a real investment in state of the art networks in rural Ohio.

They do not deliver on promised download speeds. It has been a constant battle over the last few years to get the download speeds for which I pay. There will be times where the speed is good, but that is probably less than 50% of the time.

I understand Intelliwave, is the only provider in my region. But going from 600Kb to 1mb isn’t what I was excepting. On the good days I might get 5mb but it doesn’t go any higher than that. Once I move Im switching.

I love Intelliwave!! We had a national internet provider for 10 years and switched to Intelliwave last year. The product and service is so much better! Our family of five is easily able to stream and surf,etc.Tyler did our original install. He was so nice. He took off his boots every time he entered our house - I really appreciated the extra effort. He was very respectful with our home and property. He stayed late to make sure everything was just as we wanted and running. He even helped me with my router!! Thank you very much!!

Must be ok with no internet 2-3 days a month. Very slow during peak. Take or leave it attitude with service quality. Excited to see competitors moving into my area. Just to clarify on the reply below, I have a security system and cameras that send notifications when they are disconnected and switched over to cellular service. Not complaining about every outage is a sign of understanding of the limitations of wireless service (with respect to interference) not a sign of not having issues.

I live in an area where traditional companies simply arent willing to come, or update their infrastructure to support. Thankfully Intelliwave is able to get me enough up and down that I can work from home. This isnt an easy task with tree coverage but the tech support has been troubleshooting our situation and working with us to improve our connectivity. In stark contrast to Frontier or other big corporations there is accountability, transparency and communication within the company is organized. Right now I cant tell you how thankful I am that I can call them up, speak to tech support quickly and have a resolution that day or shortly after.

Greg showed up a few minutes early for the time slot we were provided and spent several hours yet efficient hours installing home phone, internet and tv on our 4 tvs. He was very professional, extremely knowledgeable yet personable, which can be difficult going into someones home. I was very impressed. The service is awesome. No lags, no buffers, no tv pixelating, We tested after he left by trying everything at one time and NOTHING slowed down. If you have the availabilty to have this service you really need to give them a call. And it is saving me money for better service. You cant beat that!

We switched from another provider and are extremely glad we did. The employees of Intelliwave take their jobs very seriously. They respond quickly when there are problems and work tirelessly to solve them. They are respectful, friendly young men and women. Our service set up is a challenge as we live in a rural area. The technicians have had to trouble shoot problems several times, but, are always looking for a way to improve our service. It is a far cry from the poor service and treatment we received from our prior provider.

Horrible customer service, I went on vacation and came back to our mailbox hit by a snowplow and all of our mail gone! I called Intelliwave to get the $10.00 late fee waived from my bill due to all of this and Kevin the manager refused to remove it. We now have Spectrum in our area so that is who we will taking our business to. He told me he could remove it if I had a death in the family or was in the hospital. Mind you we have been a customer for 3 years and have never been late on our bill. If this is how you treat your customers Kevin then no thank you, I will take my business elsewhere!! It made me rate them at least 1 star even though I didnt want to.

They upgraded a tower and my receiver about a month ago but the Internet is still spotty at best. We even had someone come out here and check and he didnt see anything wrong. Dealing with Sales team: 10/10 Both Brian and Melissa were a wonder and a half to speak to! They were very patient and walked me through all my options! They didnt try to rope me into anything I didnt want and they even went above and beyond to make sure I was getting the best deal possible.Bang for Buck factor: 6/10 , unfortunately there isnt that much competition or development in my area. 60$+ for 2mb is a little steep but hey I get it, theres still many towers to still be built/improved! With that said I would challenge Intelliwave to continue to grow and offer better deals.Reliability: So far 10/10. Theyve been very helpful. I am a brand-new customer but I havent had any issues. The technician Jason (might be josh) was especially helpful with setting up my netgear router (thanks man!).

You have to use them in some parts ofAthens, but that doesnt mean they are great. They postponed getting me signed up with a contract for a year for college, and when Ive already moved, my lease has exprired and they even show Im not using the internet at all, refuse to refund me the last month because THEY didnt get me signed up fast enough the year before.

Intelliwave was such a great service when I first got it but lately I can not get any consistency. My MS is constantly a yo-yo of 80-300 MS sometimes it is 200-1000 MS. They seem to constantly be having issues with the tower and they never get fixed in a timely manner. I have been waiting for 5 days now for my internet to be stable. I call and I keep getting told the tower needs fixed. The tower has gone through at least 3 repairs I know of this year alone. I am just getting really frustrated that I can not use my internet for the things I want due to how inconsistent the signal is week to week...

Im a new customer as of 3/13/19 the service to get installed was rather a lengthy period.. possibly due to weather & needing to bury a line or possibly due to a large number of clients who called to sign up prior to me.. the actual install happened today, my install tech was Greg, & I must say Greg did an excellent job & I feel he treated my home as if it was his own! Very professional, went above & beyond to see that I understood everything & most importantly that I was 110% satisfied with the product before he left! So far Im loving my new internet & its super fast compared to what I was using! (Satellite internet) when I had satellite internet I couldnt stream Netflix or watch on demand. Now its working with NO loading message 4 minutes into a movie!

Ive had them for about 3 or 4 years and have had great things to say. Except lately! When the net goes out and I try to call to see if there is a message of why the interruption I always get your call cant be completed at this time. Its like they shut the phones off when there is an issue now. This makes me hate the service but I have no other options I can go with where Im located. Well none that supports Xbox gaming that is. Please fix this issue and Id change my review to 5 stars.

Terrible terrible terrible connection, YouTube and Netflix is very spotty and don’t even think about gaming on this internet, i literally use a low speed hotspot that gets 10 times better connection than my Ethernet cord would get. I contacted Intelliwave Customer Support because our home has been experiencing serious wifi signal problems. I was assigned to Jason A in customer support. Jason was very patient and explained everything he was doing throughout the troubleshooting process which literally took a FEW WEEKS do to my crazy work schedule as a full-time Police Officer. Jason had me download a free trial troubleshooting app and then walked me through the process of setting it up to get a good sample or footprint of the actual data problems. Jason called and emailed me every single time he said he would and that is very rare to find these days. I was completely satisfied with the customer service I received and I completely concur that the problem lies with my router that I purchased and I stalled on my own a couple of years ago. Hopefully when I find a quality well priced router and get it installed, that will fix the issues weve been dealing with. Jason A was absolutely OUTSTANDING and deserves to be Recognized for his efforts and hard work! Jason truly enjoys his work and it shows with the customer service he provides for Intelliwave customers......

No star would be my first choice. They dont tell you if you have Windows 10 that it constantly updates and your service is a zero at best. It is very challenging to change the windows update, nearly impossible for a novice. Trying to even get on facebook, craigslist or even read your email is challenging. They know this but dont tell anybody. Bunch of thieving monkeys, wont let you cancel without paying them $250 or more. Thieves.

When we bought our house the previous owners had Intellwave and said, they were okay and there wasn’t really any other options around our area. So I called and set it all up to have the service to be connected the day after we closed on the house...Well the guy I spoke to said we could cancel after 30 days or 1year. Then when the guy that came to set it up was here, he was very shy and awkward (which it is fine to be shy) but when he left he left without saying anything and without his stuff and then just came back in my house and got it, I was busy painting the bathroom so I didn’t pay him much attention but my tv was turned around facing the wall when he left (which it was not when he got here) and when I turned it back it was broken.... My fiancé works road construction and is gone almost all summer, I didn’t have time to deal with this, working, and moving by myself so we decided that we would just pay the one year see how the service was and then cancel after that if it wasn’t good.... well its not good! So after one year I called in to cancel, and apparently I signed a contact (which I did not) while the technician was in my house that says I won’t cancel for 2 years without a $250 cancellation fee... I explained to them that one I didn’t sign it and two it was suppose to be sent to me by email and never was, which is why I never signed it and three the man that set up my account said 1year. They basically said that their technicians integrity was higher than mine and they believed him over me and if I canceled they would be changing my account $250. They had ZERO explanation for the fact that it was never sent to my email and I’ve never even had the chance to read this supposed contract, or that the man that set up my account said one year....Trust me, this company has ZERO integrity and it would be a HUGE mistake to go into service with them! Don’t waste your money! 1 on a service that sucks and 2 is a shady company. Learn from my mistake.Also, the fact that they have a 2.8 review on google and an F on the BBB and they don’t allow Facebook reviews, speaks volumes.

They installed my fiber to home internet on 04/26/2016. Its super fast. The tv quality is outstanding. Dealing with the customer service to set up my install has been wonderful. The installer, Greg, did a fantastic job in our home. If you can get Intelliwave fiber, get it. They offer speeds up to 1gb with no data caps!

(2017) Ive had service for 3+ years, you only use them when it is your only option. Service has gone out a few times but generally reliable. I can YouTube and Netflix 1 device just fine.Edit(2019): The company recently upgraded from using wimax(ghetto 4G) to LTE (real 4G). My ping (latency/lag) has improved greatly and so far it seems more reliable. They are now offering 25mbps in my area as well and I have not experienced congestion during peak times.

My internet when down Wednesday night.I sent a massage they didnt read.Finaly got to talk to some one who wanted me to reboot and which I had done before calling.We went through to make sure everything was plugged in the right plug.I am not a first grader.I told him I did ping commands and the motor was wrong.Tomight I go out and look at the radio they put on my house but not showing any colors.They turned me off and will have a technical guy come out Wednesday

Installation: What installation? I bought my house and the system was already installed. Did they charge me $100 for flipping a switch anyway? You bet they did!Service: Their service is spotty at best. I have the the 2Mbit plan @ $54 / month. This is the same price I paid for 24Mbit AT&T DSL service at my previous residence. Because they are the only game in town, they have a money hungry monopoly.Situation: I am currently downloading a large file and have been watching my speed for the past few minutes. My max throughput is ~245 kb/s it consistently drops below 100 kb/s every 15-20 seconds then back up to ~245. And this is in the middle of the day when throughput should be rock solid. Try to watch Netflix (when everyone tapping in to their tower is too) at 8:00 in the evening and youre lucky to get through a show without it dropping out.Bottom line: This is the last resort, people. If you live in the county and Time Warner hasnt dropped fiber optics to your doorstep, this is it. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet, pay the price, and write a couple of reviews. Be sure to check out their rating at the BBB... scathing!

We have a couple options for internet where I live not anything special just DSL or satellite and Intelliwave is absolutely amazing, we rely on internet for streaming tv capabilities and everything else internet and I dont have one bad thing to say. The installer was excellent and professional I have maybe had 1 or 2 days with no internet in the last year and for what they charge this company is awesome this company is great, the customer service is amazing and they are very easy to reach if need be. I recommend Intelliwave to anyone I can and everyone has been super happy that gets their service. We bought a $200 router and our connections to all our tvs that we stream video too has improved 100%. My internet is very slow most likely because of the wind we have been having for the last few days and our connection is unuseable at this point and its very slow but Im not even upset, I called customer service and left a message and let them know and they will give me a call tomorrow and fix any issues I have. Highly recommend this company. No data caps and fair prices and excellent customer service. All these things you rarely see these days. Keep it up Intelliwave!

People do your home work on internet companies reviews, they are money hungry , and they know how to control your speed from their office.At first it is great , then slowly they milk your speed away : until you call in and complain! it is a game of power and money ! They also have peak hours during the day they give more speed to business ! The office in W.C.H. I have been with for over 4yrs, play with my speed. Since intelliwave has taken over , this is my story ! They called and ask me if i would like to upgrade from 1mpbs up and down to 2 mpbs up and down . The cost from 49.95 to 54.95 with a 2 year agreement. I said no , if I want to in the future ,I will come in the office and do it. So the next thing my internet does not work and up on my screen , is if i want service i need to sign contract with intellwave. So i called a office and explained what was happening . They said you did not agree on phone , i said no . So he turned it back on ! They were trying to pressure me! So wrong to try to control the situation ! So i look at my bank statement this month and 53.95 is taken out! I called and Steve answered, i ask him what plan is on my account; he checked and said 49.95. So why did you take out 53.95. So he check again, he said dont you have a business ? Well after 4yrs on residential how does that happen, i did not sign anything, oh someone put you on a business plan by mistake! i will change that right away and get your money back in your account. This guy talks lies! check the rate for a business plan , one is 94.95 and the other one is 124.95 . So sad to do a business this way! Lying to your customers and taking a extra 4.00 . the new plan is 54.95. i truly believe by what i have heard and seen with these figures ! there is fraud in this company and greed to get a few dollars any way they can to get 20,000 people that they serve their money!

Horrible. Terrible speeds. Insanely overpriced. Absolute garbage connection that goes out for indeterminate time frames, multiple times a week. No tech support after hours. No bill credits. Do not use this company.

Absolutely garbage internet. Cuts out every 10 minutes, cant even keep a solid connection. Got the highest package possible, and its still a piece of trash and isnt even better than the basic package. Its a complete rip off.

Hate having to call. Service very unreliable. They will talk you into a bigger package and it still crashes all the time and goes very slow. Even with just one pc doping anything.
