Have used Smiths for 30 plus years ranging from help with a small residential pool and hot tub to their most recent help supplying expertise with the heated 165,000 gallon East Asheville Rec Club in Haw Creek.Theyve seen or heard of it before and if they cant fix it or trouble shoot an issue with you they can put you in local contact with someone who can.Great Pool Service Company!

First Class experience - they know what they are talking about. After weeks of spending a lot of money with a Pool and Spa vendor on Hendersonville Road to try and get a non-green pool, I walked into Smiths pool service and met this wonderful lady who knew exactly what the issue was, asked me if I could come back the following day as it was highly likely a mustard algae and I needed something called Yellow Quell. I did so and within 24 hours the pool was blue and well on its way to being perfect. I also described where we lived and she recalled from memory the pool and how they had actually serviced it since 1985. Unreal. First Class and thank you. Experience costs but it is invaluable

We have been using them for years on our older pool. The are the BEST.They greet us by name, close our pool every year. They installed a new liner 2 years ago, and replaced our 30 year old cover last yeat...A+

I cant say enough about how awesome this family owned business is. I called them when I moved into new house with a pool. I had never owned a pool before. They were amazingly helpful. The showed me how to use all of the pool equipment. I could stop by the shop anytime when I had questions about maintaining the chemicals. They have opened and closed my pool ever since. When any of my equipment malfunctioned they came out pronto and gave me all of the options for fixing it. Their prices are reasonable. I would and have recommended them over and over.

I work at a school and we normally use another pool supply company- but they were closed today. I brought my water to Smiths Pool Service to be checked and he spent a good amount of time with me going over what had to be done. As I needed a pretty substantial amount one particular product- he helped me figure a way to save some money. Friendly, helpful, and understood my needs. What a great place!

After a dreadful experience with another pool company, I was referred to Smiths Pool Service by a friend. I can not begin to find the words to explain how amazing they were. They came when they said they would come...they did what they said they would do ( a huge project of replacing liner in our inground pool) they charged what they said they would charge...which was hundreds of dollars less the the company mentioned before). FInished project when they said they would finish...Our pool looks amazing. We have enjoyed it all summer!! I would give them 10 stars...will never use another company again. Have referred them to numerous friends with pools as well. Great Job Smiths Pool service!!!

Its my first year with a pool & I called Smiths Pool Service to come close the pool for me on Oct 1. They put the tarp over it and closed it. Clearly, I didnt have a pump to pump off the rain water to give them to set up, they didnt mention that I needed one. Fast fwd to April 15, I call them to open the pool... They pumped all the nasty rain water and leaves from the top of the tarp back into my pool & left my pool a dark shade of brown/green and told me to shock it a couple times and run the pump continuously for a couple weeks and it would clear up.... I got a bill for almost $300. Fast fwd to May almost a month later, my pool is only a slightly lighter shade of green despite my having spent HOURS pulling out about 30-50lbs of leaves off the bottom, vacuuming every day and spending an additional $400 in chemicals to try to get it right. I would think when you make an appointment to open your pool that they would leave the pool ready for use & minimal work would be required for me to fix it.... I called to address my displeasure with them & they gave me a bunch of excuses and patronized me and told me it would be an additional $1500 to fix it.... What a bunch of crooks!!! I called another pool service and explained this situation and they were HORRIFIED that those dudes pumped nasty rain water & leaves back into my pool.... The bottom line is, they took advantage of me because I didnt know any better and tried to rip me off for another $1500 to fix their mistake. I will NEVER pay that $300 bill. When a customer calls & theyre less than satisfied with the job you did, as a small business owner myself, I would do anything I could to make it right, to make them happy, to ensure their continued business. I certainly would not insult them, patronize them and try to rip them off.... Maybe next time, youll make a different choice. Would not recommend this company to anyone. One satisfied customer might tell 1-2 people about their experience, one dissatisfied customer will tell EVERYONE who will listen.... Just sayn. Customer Service 101.

I can not recommend Smiths Pool Service highly enough. Ive been to other pool stores in Asheville that are more interested in pushing chemicals that helping me with my pool. I discovered Smiths last year after having had my pool since 2005. I can honestly say I learned more about pool maintenance in a few visits with them than in all the previous years combined with my former pool company. Just by changing when and how I added chlorine I saved myself more than 100.00 over the course of a season. They are good people who know pools inside and out and take the concept of customer service seriously.

We had Smitty come out yesterday to find a leak in our inground pool. he was Great! he was able to find the leak before he even went into the pool.He patched the hole, checked the rest of the liner and gave us great advise to avoid this problem in the future, Smith Pool is great and Smitty was wonderful!! Thank you so much!! Will recommend you to everyone!Linda Dowd

They are very professional. They show up on time.

They broke the PVC conduit off our GFI outlet near the pool and refused to fix it. Their reason was that it wasnt up to code. It was unclear if they meant that their code is break their customers property and not fix it, or if they meant that the original installation wasnt up to code. It obviously had to pass a building inspector. Regardless, they break things and refuse to fix them.
