Gentleman has been cutting hair for 43 years if not 46 getting ready to retire which is sad because the guy really knows how to cut hair. One of the best places Ive been in years that actually listen to what I wanted and got what I wanted. Sad to see him go but very happy for him to be able to retire and walk away. You have 63 days left until he retires.

Really picky about my barbers. I’m here for the weekend and needed a haircut badly. They welcomed walk ins which was great. I was in and out in 25 minutes with a nice line up and fade on the sides. Cheap too!

I don’t typically go to barber shops as I am particular about those who cut my hair and the fact that most hair stylists do not have the experience necessary to understand each individuals head shape and preferred style according to how hair naturally grows. I usually go to salons but have not had great experiences recently with other locations.The bartender was personable and attentive to my needs. Although slightly sarcastic and witty with his jokes, he stated that he’d been cutting hair for 40+ years. He is a very old fashioned barber but a pro none the less.The results showed proof of his experience. I am happy with the haircut and glad I randomly took a chance to visit East Barber Shop in Asheville. They will receive my business again if I am in the area.Thanks!

Awesome family barber tucked away in East Asheville. Ive lived here for 25 years and just found this place in 2017. Allen is my barber and the Owner. He gets to know you, learns about your work and hobbies and remembers your cut preference. Its affordable and he will work a beard in addition to a cut. It seems to attract a predominantly older crowd (50+) but as a young man in his 30s I always get awesome and fast service.

Driven by this place for years. Glad I finally stopped. I found myself a new barber. Gave me a great haircut. The barber I saw was cash only, when the others are there they accept cards apparently. Im happy to have them nearby.
