This building is large with an even bigger history. The staff is very helpful and caring. Lived there for 2 years and had no issues. This enormous complex has a rich and exciting history, and cant forget to mention the spectacular views sitting on top of the mountains. The Kenilworth neighborhood is pleasant and very animal friendly.

I recently moved to the Kenilworth Inn and have been extremely happy thus far. I made a cross-country move and the staff was very accommodating. My apt is exactly as described, and was in excellent shape when I moved in. Neighbors are all very friendly. The management team is absolutely first-rate; friendly, responsive, and professional. I had one or two small things that needed to be tended to when I moved into my apt and the maintenance and housekeeping staff were absolutely first-rate as well. Would highly recommend the Kenilworth!

Kenilworth Inn is a fabulous place to call homeFrom every angle, you have stunning mountain views. When a friend from NYC visited me recently, he went:Wow! Is this a fancy resort?People have been saying things like this for well over a century when this place was first a hotel, then a resort, a military hospital, a sanatorium and now an upscale residence.Just as the exterior always elicits raves, the inside of this magnificent building is also an outstanding place to live. I moved here 3 years ago into a compact, cozy studio which includes its own washer/dryer and dishwasher--a luxury after living in Manhattan for 30 years. Under new management, we now have a dynamic staff. When I called the office recently about a stopped up sink, a maintenance person was here within an hour. Theres plenty of parking spaces. You feel secure and safe. Everytime I drive up to my home here, I smile because of its beauty and its A plus interiors and maintenance. This is an ideal place for someone who wants a quiet environment and a quality place to live. And no, I am not a member of the staff whose writing this.

People are very friendly here. People who live here are friendly and also leasing office ladies are really friendly and helpful. Apartment itself is very unique and has historical values. Great views from inside and out. Very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. I lived at several upscale apartments in south Asheville and northern Georgia. I havent seen anything like this ever. A lot of tenants have lived here for more than 5 years and many are here for retirement as well. You wont see insanity or ridiculous people here. Just peaceful.

Autumn, the property manager with Kenilworth Inn Apartments, went above and beyond to help us with our move. From start to finish she was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and overwhelmingly helpful. She provided a level of personalized attention that is seldom seen in the moving process. The building is beautiful and the apartments are eclectically elegant. The community seems friendly and welcoming. The grounds and shared common spaces are beautiful! Its been a pleasant experience moving into the Kenilworth Inn Apartments, and we cant thank Autumn enough for her patience and willingness to bend over backwards for us. Cheers!

What a place!? Its like the twilight zone had a baby with the shining to create this gem of a building. This place lauds the impressive resume of serving as a military convalescence hospital during WWI and WWII then a psychiatric hospital intermittently until 2000 when converted into apartments. Beautiful architecture, quaint apartments, and quirky residents all work to appease the underlying reality that something evil lurks beneath...

Historically beautiful apartment complex. The walls can be a bit thin in certain places, but dont let that dissuade you from living here. Very central location and lots of parking.

In writing this review, I had to diminish and understate to some degree my level of praise in relation to the outstanding level of service and high-end luxurious quality of living I continue to experience as a three-year resident at Kenilworth Inn Apartments, in order to facilitate the credibility of my review.I have been a resident as Kenilworth Inn Apartments for my third year so far, renting a one-bedroom apartment that boasts almost 1,500sq feet, high ceilings, a classy functional kitchen with granite counters, laundry-room and beautiful bedroom and large bathroom, hardwood floors throughout, all wrapped around by great large windows and thick castle – like secure walls. The building is so well constructed, that it retains heat in the winter and remains cool in the summer despite of outside weather conditions, of course no flooding can ever occur due to its location on a hill. The building is located on a hill in the Historic Biltmore district, which is one of the safest areas of Asheville, and as I discovered, one of the most well-maintained areas by the city of Asheville and its services. The grounds are breathtaking providing views from above of the city, and the common areas of the building provide the infinite luxury and class embodied in the historic era in which the structure was erected with the abundant use of heavy wood, high ceilings, thick walls and high-end functionality and prestige. The management company is exceptionally noteworthy, exemplifying customer service, efficiency, care and assistance for the residents, epitomizing problem solving and personifying the true definition of professionalism in every aspect of their jobs. These remarkable management members not only ensure that each resident receives the upmost personalized attention and customer care possible, they organize Christmas parties and historical galas, as well as, artistic events for their residents, all intended to maintain the high standard of luxury living for the residents of Kenilworth Inn Apartments, while at the same time facilitating the warmth of homelike living and profound Asheville diverse culture. The maintenance unit under the direction of the onsite management team, as with all services provided at the apartment complex, are timely, effective, efficient and ensure the minimum disruption to the residents if maintenance work is required at any of the units of the tenants.Kenilworth Inn Apartments and its amazing onsite management truly facilitate high-end, luxury living for its residents, that surpasses any upscale living standards. No wonder, most of the residents continue to happily reside there for years.Mario

Be very wary of the Kenilworth Inn. Yes, it is a lovely building, with unusual, quirky units. And mold in many units. One couple moved in, had headaches and sneezing fits, and finally determined that mold in the apartment was the cause-- which mgt knew but ignored. Particularly noticeable on the ground floor. The owner and the new management group, CF Lane (as of June 1, 2015), seem intent upon maximizing their profit by raising rents and doing away with services. For instance, in 2015-16, they raised everyones rent $150 across the board, regardless of the size of your unit. Many long time residents have reluctantly moved on when their leases expire, as the KI is now the most expensive complex in Asheville, with their own website showing Studios starting at $999,One bedrooms starting at $1,100, Two bedrooms starting at $1,600, andThree bedrooms starting at $2,300 (4-2016).Oh, they did add a Kuerig coffee machine in the lobby and a router so anyone sitting in the otherwise empty lobby would have WiFi. Most of the tenants pay for their own, since the building isnt wired.Mgt is also a bit odd in dealing with what they perceive as problems. For instance, while there are many, many dogs in the complex, Mgt seems oblivious to the loud aggressive ones, even though they are often fighting only feet from the office. It had also been a practice for some to let their dogs off leash to run around on the lawn in the afternoon. Apparently a couple big dogs (there is no weight limit) ran into the neighborhood prompting complaints. Instead of dealing with the offending owners, Mgt sent out a blanket edit banning off leash dogs and threatening a $150 fine if discovered.Similarly-- and happily-- the KI is a No Smoking building. Well, apparently one tenant ignored this rule. But instead of dealing directly with him/her, Mgt sent out a blanket warning and said theyd be sending out what amounted to a Sniff Patrol in search of offenders. Oy vey!The other scary thing about the new mgt group is that they seem intent upon doing things their way, some hell or high water. In absence of a tenants email distribution channel, the residents set up a Facebook group that enables them to share things like the red convertible in the front lot left its lights on and does anyone have some gluten free whatever that I can borrow for a recipe. Management wants to shut this down, fearing something, like actual communication (and insurrection?) amongst the tenants. And why not, almost immediately after taking over CF Lane stuffed a flyer in each door (they apparently havent heard about email) announcing that each tenant could receive a wonderful stainless steel appliance package for the modest rent increase of $200-$250 a month, plus an accent wall. As near as I can tell, no one has accepted this magnanimous offer! But those tenants whose leases are expiring are moving out in droves, because rents are going up as much as 25%. And they are often hit with a surprise cleaning fee upon exit.So if you plan on living here more than a year, youd better hope your boss will give you a nice raise next year. The place is great, the management, well, suffice it to say they have yet to demonstrate much that is inspirational. (Note to CF Lane legal team, the opinions stressed herein are in keeping with the Freedom of Speech laws of the U-S of A. No slander or libel intended. Just saying what I think. If the truth hurts-- or resembles the actions of your august client or firm (CF Lane), then perhaps you should suggest they change their behavior.)
