I & my friend went here to have lunch inside.I had not dined in at the restaurant since February 2020 Covid outbreak.We arrived at about 1 pm & was surprised to find very few people inside. The staff were all wearing masks & the number of customers wearing masks was at about 50% who were walking around the steam tables. (I wore a mask but my friend had forgotten his and didnt wear one. None were available that we could see. There ere hand sanitizer stations set up at the entrance & exit.)Things were slightly different. There were no red trays to carry your drinks to the table & the central plate & utensil layout was gone to eliminate covid spread Im sure. Instead the plates were located in stacks at the various food hot tables & a waitress dropped off clean sets of utensils in an enclosed paper pouch at the table we set our drinks at.My friend & I had purchased the senior buffet meal for less than $10 each.Once we selected our table and set our drinks down, we proceeded to the steam tables.The selection of food was plentiful, fresh and of a very good selection. My friend got a salad & chicken, mashed potatoes & corn off the cob with a roll which he later said was very delicious.I opted for pilaf rice with brown gravy added, meatloaf, corn off the cob and a dinner roll. Everything was delicious. So much so that i had a second plate of the same thing. Neither of us chose desert as we were so full.The staff were very attentive & our waitress kept our beverages full.I highly recommend eating here. The food is excellent and at a bargain price.

Stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner yesterday while traveling. Have to say, I only write reviews when its horrible or excellent - and the staff here made our visit excellent. Amy the manager and Angelina our server were both awesome!!! The new flavors of fried chicken are really good - especially the honey fried chicken!

Went last Saturday September 25th want be going back for the price i paid service sucked food was not what it use to be waited in line for 20 minutes for a steak which i didnt even get the guy at that station didnt even spec English the person in front of me asked for one thing and he didnt understand and gave them the wrong cooked done steak i paid almost 70.00 for a girls day out lunch never again will we go back to Golden corral in Asheboro nc

I enjoy eating here. I just wish there were more low carb and sugar free options. I am diabetic and keto,but can pretty much only eat meat here. The day I went there wasnt even any sugar free jello. But the steak was amazing and the manager was awesome,he actually was close by and saw me waiting, he fixed my steak. Wait staff was great, restaurant was really clean. I think they are probably a little bit short staffed

I was shocked😳 The food was awesome! I actually got a piece of chicken that I could eat! Meaning that they change the food out now, instead of letting it sit under the warmers too long! Great selection of food, a bit pricey for a buffet, but awesome! They do practice covid guidelines, and offer gloves at the buffet. I give Golden Corral a A+

I dont normally go to GC, however this time it blew my mind. The sirloin steak was fantastic. My family enjoyed the selection of food and it was a great price for a buffet.

I love coming here my husband and I come 1 day a week. Im extremely excited to see Golden Corral back open the safety precautions are on point. Sanitizing constantly. You have to wear gloves to get your food. Definitely recommend this restaurant!! Also Amy Marsh the manager is an absolutely a pleasure seeing everytime we come here!! ❤❤

They have improved the cleanliness and sanitary handling of food. Its been a few years since I have eaten here due to the unsanitary conditions at the time. Me and my son tried it out again and they have stepped up on sanitary handling and displaying food. I will come back and eat here again with no worries.

My granddaughters always choose to go here! They love the different varieties of food but most of all, they love the deserts 😊 The food is okay.. could be seasoned better but overall I always enjoy my meal when I visit

We keep giving them one more chance but they fail Everytime. The food just keeps getting worse, we found a roach on the table one night. Today we went for lunch so u would think everything would be fine but not. The saled bar had food that looked like is was a week old. Zoom in on the picture and I will see how bad is was.

Havent been here in several years due to food quality. Thought we would give them a try (& I was craving the rolls). Very disappointed! Rolls were hard. Fish was mush. Pork chops were dry. Overall a disappointment. 2 stars was the waitress was the only positive. Super nice and apologetic. Guess we will wait another several years.

Foods gone downhill used to be better maybe it was an off day but steaks were awful un evenly cooked and the grill hand was not receptive waitress was great shes the only reason why it got 3 stars cleared the plates promptly and drink refills and coffee were abundant

We came there today (Saturday, 10/31/20) at lunchtime around 2:30pm & the woman who rung us up (I wish I had her name but I believe she’s Hispanic) was soooooo rude!! We were visiting the zoo & was having a wonderful day until we met her!!! She even rung me up for 2 $2.99 drinks when I had water. Thank god I looked at my receipt because of how rude she was and noticed it. The mgr corrected it but she didn’t apologize or nothing. Then the rude girl, yes... girl (that’s what she acted like) was laughing with her coworker looking right at me while I was having it fixed in front of the mgr. strictly horrible. My waiter carried the stars given and the food was good to me. I would of given a better review if the Customer Service in the beginning was better. Such a shame. I will be keeping my receipts to make sure I get my refund.

First time having breakfast here. Very good food in my experience, staff is very nice 🙂 will be eating here again for sure.

Restaurant should be closed! No true social distancing. Had to inform the manager that the customers were not putting on gloves that were provided for self serving. Saw one customer reach over with his bare hand to get a baked potato ( no mask or gloves). Mask wearing nor gloves not enforced via the manager or staff members!!! Will not visit this Asheboro restaurant again as this is not a safe environment! Saw a server take contaminated condiments from a table that had not been cleaned and take it to an occupied table. This pandemic is real and on the RISE!!!!

Food selections (variety and savory) are unmatched and hands down best in class. I travel the county and this I find throughout every location Ive visited. At this particular stop the food preparers stand out. Check out and service on the other hand seemed somewhat unconcerned with their contribution to the total experience as they lack attention to detail. For example_the salad dressing was somehow absent from takeout, though Im certain I brought it counter.

This place should not be letting their dine-in customers serve themselves. My girlfriend and I wanted to eat here since we haven’t eaten here since this pandemic began. I had called the restaurant before we even went there. The manager that answered the phone call said “oh, we have our customers wear a glove with their serving hand and also require a mask when self serving.” So we decided to go eat there. We get there and we see signs that say “Before Serving please use hand sanitizer.” So we sit and serve ourselves following the instructions. As we are enjoying our meal we see a couple come in set their stuff down and immediately go towards the buffet without using hand sanitizer or even wearing gloves. Also their were other dining customers that were wearing a glove but they were using it on the wrong hand. We both saw that and put our silverware down and walked out because it was one after another after that.

Had to deal with pushiness from the cashier lady to start.Ended up with a waitress that had an attitude. Was very rude and didnt want to refill our drinks.Besides bossy/intrusive workers.Everyone was on their phones. Very poor service.The food was not much better.The steak was overcooked. The salad bar was the only thing that i could actually handle.Went in for Dinner and they werent busy, but the employees obviously didnt want to work.I refuse to go back to this location.Ive never been to a GC and felt so unwelcome and dissapointed.Food and service. If i could give no stars i would.AVOID AT ALL COSTS. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.

Awesome food and the waitress was amazing.

Completely disgusted this evening. Made an online order told me my order would be ready at 6:41 p.m. I showed up at 6:49 p.m. they told me my order had not even came through. Although my card was already charged they told me I had no order ready to pick up. And on top of all of this I had to wait an extra 15 minutes to receive my meal to go. And on top of this steak was not cooked to my order specifications. They did not even put steak sauce in the bag.

They offer a great variety of food. The downside is that some of the food looks old and not fresh.

The items needs to be changed up so there always different foods on the buffet sames items everytime we go love to see different items and need to throw away dried out meats not just add sause to the meat it is still dried out

The restaurant was very impressive especially because we didnt get there until after 8 p.m. the service was fantastic food hot and delicious the working staff were very friendly. The manager checked on our service and wanted my family to enjoy their meals and wanted us to be happy. We only felt rushed a little at the end only wished they gave us heads up before putting all the food away. Otherwise great place to eat with no real complaints 😁!! Well definitely be back!!!

Cant beat the lunch price for an all you can buffet. Great selection of food kept stocked. Salad items, fruits, country style cooking, all kinds of meat, rolls and breads, pastas and pizza, and of course the big dessert area! Love the desserts. I had issues with cleanliness though. Plates kept in the open and upright, away from the food area. Food scattered in some areas. Some food items were going bad. I complained and the item was swiftly removed and replaced with a sincere apology. I still like the place though. The unlimited food option keeps it at 4 stars for me

Hands down the best place that you will ever eat!

The steak from the grill was delicious and fried Chicken was also excellent. Theres so much to choose from here that its hard to come away hungry. The cooks for the most part were spot on, fantastic job. In fact I didnt eat anything that wasnt good. The rolls were very good and the carrot cake, oh my goodness, I love the carrot cake here. This is a great place to take a group or just indulge yourself. Highly recommend!

They always have just about anything u want to eat , but dont forget to wear ur masks.

Whatever seasoning it is that they put on their steaks, I dont like it. It makes the steak inedible for me. This is chain wide, not just a specific store. I also find a lot of the food to be rather bland and to me the prices for the buffet seem to be rather expensive. In their defense, the staff is always pleasant, the store is always clean, and the place is always busy.edited for clarity

This was a great buffet experience for me! Pretty close to North Carolinas Zoo to grab something to eat before/after you go. I believe this Golden Corral in particular had a more better selection than others I have tried.

This Golden Corral was probably one of the biggest ones Ive been to. Which made it comfortable move around. The employees were friendly and the food was hot and fresh. Also they had the largest strawberries Ive ever seen. Definitely would stop back if I was in the area again.

Me and my husband went here for our anniversary dinner my steak was crispy and his ribs and bourbon chicken was cold like less than 145 ( dangerous temps) he is now dealing with food poisoning but the manager was nice enough to give is a refund. However how do you payback for food poisoning hes now in the bed sick and may be out of work for a couple of days
