We had our truck towed to the Chevy dealer only because we were slightly over the extended warranty by miles but still had 2 years left by the date. We thought maybe they would work with us. Boy were we wrong. We got the run around for about 4 days and they were caught in several lies as well. Needless to say we called around and talked to Rick, he was very helpful, so we had our truck towed to his shop. He rebuilt our transmission and got it back to us in record time. Would highly recommend, and will definitely go back.

Had taken my truck to another shop and they tried to gouge me for work. So I then took it to AAMCO for a second opinion. They sent me to the highway patrol Inspection station to make sure that the other garage was not gouging me for work. Highway patrol found that they were. So I brought it back to AAMCO to get the necessary repairs. Amazing service all around and I’m happy to have found a new trustworthy place to bring my vehicles.

I called and set up an apt on Tuesday for sat to get some work done on my car and the owner told me that they would be able to do it and have it done by the end of the day. I bring my car in and was told they couldnt do it today. This is the second time we had a bad with them. Will never calland ask for them to do work again.

My car had a surprise brake issue that rendered it undriveable. My choices were to have the car towed to the dealer for repair, or drive it the short distance to AAMCO. I’d like to thank Rick and his crew for taking care of my vehicle. I had an issue in the drivetrain where I was blowing fluid out. Luckily I caught it pretty early. I was worried I lost a seal on my transmission. I was close enough to get it to them as I figured any damage was already done. Long story short, they quickly identify a bad bearing seal and loose axle. They quickly replaced this and checked the rest of the suspension at my request. Everything was very above board and priced right. After several months everything is right and tight. I would go back to them again if the need ever would arise. They should be on your short list based on my experience.

I really enjoyed working with Rick. He was very nice and informative and very above board with his pricing. He quoted me a reasonable price for transmission replacement with no hidden fees stuck in later. When the transmission he was looking at was purchased by someone else, he stuck to his original quote even though he had to pay a little more for a different transmission altogether! Got my 2005 Ford F150 FX4 transmission rebuilt at no cost to me under a lifetime power train warranty a local car dealer provided when I purchased this truck from there used car lot 9 years ago. The car dealer was/is a complete pain to deal with but things got much better when they gave up and had my truck towed to Aamco in Arnold to be repaired. Rick at Aamco is very professional and kept me informed of what was going on (unlike the car dealer). The transmission appears to be working just fine now!

So, I have a sort of special review because I am having issues with a car dealership and Rick at Aamco is helping me out. I recently bought a slightly used car from Jim Butler Outlet on Watson Road. When I test drove, I noticed that the brakes were squeaking and the wheel was a little wobbly I told the car salesman this and he promised to have it looked at when the inspection was done. I told him that if the brakes and rotors were not looked at that I would need to look at a different vehicle Jim Butler salesman promised me at time of the paperwork that the brakes were new and the rotors were turned. I went to get a second opinion at Aamco. Turns out the brakes were not brand-new in fact they were bad and thats what caused the squeaking sound. I unknowingly at first told Rick to go ahead and do the repairs in the meantime I called Jim Butler and the supervisor told me that he cannot pay for any repairs that was done somewhere else so I had to call Rick back and ask him to undo the work that his worker had already begun. Usually, an auto shop would not normally do this, they would ask for the cost of the repair or the labor of taking the brakes off and then putting them back on instead of the new ones but Rick, after thinking about it for a minute, told me to not worry about it and he would try and help with my situation obviously hearing how upsetting the whole experience was with the car outlet.

I originally took my truck in to get transmission fluid changed and had some feelings that my transmission was going bad. Turns out I needed a rebuild. They did such a good job that I left the truck there when I went out of town and they fixed my breaks and spark plugs along with the transmission. All together walked away with a fair bill of $3000 which is not bad when you think about all the work that was done. Rick is a veteran and he know what hes doing. I would take any vehicle back if I needed to.

Made an appointment to have transmission service done on 2016 Sierra and requested Mobile 1 Transmission fluid. Rick took pictures of the fluid containers before they started to make sure I knew I was getting what I wanted. The did all the work requested and returned the truck clean and ready to go! I have used this shop many times thru the years and have recommended them to others and they were happy also.

Ill try to make my story short. Competitor built my transmission ( u guess) and it lasted 8k miles. I was tossed around for 2 weeks. After being told it wasnt their problem I talked to rick at aamco. I did my research and found they actually rebuild your transmission. Not parts or replacement but yours. Its Its broken down and replaced with all new components. Yeah other competitors may be cheaper. But ask yourself why? Will never go anywhere else again because of this man and his team. Awesome.

We drive ancient vehicles that are in constant need of repair. This Aamco location has been extremely friendly, honest, and helpful. This is one of the few places weve found in the Arnold area that doesnt lie about what needs done to the vehicle in order to repair it. When we had a breakdown in another part of town, they recommended a place near the breakdown, in order to save us money on a tow.

I had AAMCO rebuild my transmission in August. They did an awesome job it ran like a champ. I went on a couple long trips no problems at all. In March I drove to my Aunts house 2 hours west of STL and it just went out... My aunt had to pick me up and get my car to her house I was so bummed, but have no fear AAMCO stood by their work went and towed my car back to their shop and took extra care to make it golden. Rick and the crew at AAMCO stuck by their work and I stand by them and YOU should too!

Awesome auto shop. Took my jeep in when it was having some sputter issues. They diagnosed the issue within minutes and were able to get it fixed faster than I expected. No problems since!

I had an electrical problem with my Chevy S10. They chased the problem down and it took 3 to 4 hours longer than they thought it was going to. They stuck to what the original estimate was when it was time to pay. I would recommend to anyone.

Don’t know if this place was any good, got there today to get my daughters Jeep looked at, but went inside to the lobby area and waited 20 minutes, nobody came out to greet up but I saw people in the back, guess we will look elsewhere for service

I wish I could give them 100 stars! I took my car in yesterday fearing the worst. They called me after checking it out and explained the problem and every possible option. I didn’t feel like I was sold a bunch of unnecessary stuff. Then I got my van back the same day! After doing the work the estimate was considerably more, but they honored the estimated cost! I will use them in the future and recommend to family and friends!!!

This is the only place I have found where I can get stuff done to my car from an oil change to AC fix and, the quote that is give upfront is the same that I pay when picking it up. Excellent service. Timely. Efficient. Friendly.Tony Taylor, the manager, checked our car for a potential transmission problem. We were told by our dealer that it needed a new one. After a thorough inspection and driving of our vehicle, he indicated no transmission replacement was needed. He very easily could have taken thousands of dollars for the payment of a new one, but very honorably said it was unnecessary. It is refreshing to find integrity these days.

We had fabulous service from the moment we arrived. The staff was friendly and were able to diagnose our Check Engine Light issue quickly. Even though the necessary part had to be ordered, our car was repaired the same day at a reasonable price. Should we need to have any of our cars repaired in the future, we will give Aamco of Arnold a call first.

Serpentine belt broke for my alternator and a/c on my way to drop off my daughter for daycare. Have been in before to ask them to look at my transmission. Friendly service and didnt try to rip me off then so I thought I would come back as I didnt want to spend 8 hours working around my motor mount and the dust guards.They did it for less than I anticipated and was done in under 2 hours. I forgot to ask about the warranty bit I have a feeling that if I have issues they will take care of me.Thanks for the speedy service. Highly recommended for all car services.

If I could give negative stars I would. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stay away from this shop. They are very rude and unreliable. The shop set up an appointment with us and then when we showed up he came up with an excuse on why he would not honor or appointment and sent us away like he could care less about any more business then boasted about how his shop is 90,000 dollars ahead of last year. Tried calling back a week later to try again and the owner said hes all booked up. i proceeded to tell him we had an appointment he canceled and I am trying to make another. his response was so be it cant help you. Please spread the word that this shop has gone down hill and is no good to go to. Our community does not need this kind of shop around.

Paid $3499 for a built transmission overhaul best of the best with a 18k 18month warranty. Drove 1,120miles & at 2.5 weeks it broke. Now, with it stuck at the shop Im told I have to pay $900 for labor to pull the trans to honor my warranty as I did the uninstall/reinstall to the vehicle myself...that has zero to do with the internal failure.. & my options are to either pay the 900 or deal with a headache of a situation to have it towed from the shop to my house, remove the trans again, arrange a delivery, wait another week, arrange a pickup again, & reinstall myself & bring it back to validate my warranty again....this location may not have a selection on BBB website.. but Id suggest everyone check out the other store ratings before going to an aamco for service...

The Arnold location has been under new management for quite some time now. Joe Douglas and the team not only accurately diagnose your cars problem, but repair it in a timely manner. Joe is friendly, and very knowledgeable. He will take great care of you.Update March 18,2017I have now had a second opportunity to work with this location and the manager Joe. He diagnosed a problem that THREE other mechanics could not and the repair was done very quickly. I had compared costs once I knew the problem and AAMCO beat the price by 20%.As stated before, if you want an honest, fair mechanic AAMCO Arnold location is your best bet.

I had problems with my brakes so I took it to firestone, they wanted $1,000. Then another car company wanted almost $600, but when I called Aamco, the gave me a lower price than everyone else ($445) and threw in a few other services. Not to mention their customer service and personal touch was something that I’ve missed from the car companies of today. DEFINITELY recommend bringing your car here! 10/10

AAMCO in Arnold should just change there name to Semi Professional Part Changers of America.I brought my truck there to get an accurate indigenous... Instead all i got was a bill for $740.00 after two separate visits and Im still experiencing the same issue.Would not recommend them to anyone but the BBB for an F

This couldn’t have come at a worse time. My mother had passed away while my vehicle was getting a transmission rebuilt at this shop. The original estimate seemed fair so I gave them the go ahead. After my transmission was out of my car and completely disassembled they call me and the estimate almost doubled!!! Bait and switch if I have ever seen it. I feel like I am being extorted into getting my car back and worse of all I will now have to take out a loan to cover funeral costs. Avoid this place at all costs. Some advice I should have followed. Read reviews and always get an estimate in writing!

Transmission problems are the last thing you want to occur with your car and this location took all the stress off. They were honest, reassuring, humble, and took excellent care of us and the car. While the damages came out to be worst once repair started, they stuck to their word and estimate. These guys are the transmission gurus and look no further! Ask for Rick and his team.

I went to a dealership to get my car diagnosed after my check engine light came on. They told me it was a transmission issue and that to find out exactly what the problem was they would have to charge 129.99$. So I took my car to Aamco to see what they say. They checked it for free. Turned out the light for my input sensor was the problem. All it needed was 20 dollars worth of transmission fluid. They said if the light comes back on to come back and than they would have to replace the sensor. My light hasnt came on. Saved me a ton of money when they could have told me anything and I wouldnt have known any better. First place I actually trust not to rip me off. I plan on taking all business here from now. The manager tony is a honest person and for that I thank you.

We had amazing service ..Rick was amazing and in our situation they where rebuilding a transmission for a Dodge Dam Deisel we had a hard time find anyone in our area to work on they took the job gave us a quote and sticker with it even though they had to pull transmissions 2 times to get it right . Heard whining coming off of my Transmission on some steep hills and the Techs at AAMCO in Arnold gave it a real good going over and could not find any problems.They could have easily come up with some expensive repairs but gave it a good bill of health.Along with their friendly service, I definitely recommend them.

The owner was straight forwarded on giving me an estimate to fix the SUV I had brought in. Ill be going back to have the work done soon.

My 20 year old son took his Nissan Altima to Aamco to find out why his “Service Engine Soon” light was on. They diagnosed the problem as needing a new transmission at a cost of $2600 for a used transmission. My son told them he would need to speak to his parents and would get back with them. In the meantime, I called Nissan customer affairs and opened a claim as we had not owned this vehicle for much over a year. Nissan had agreed to work with us and were offering to potentially pay 50% - 100% of the repair costs associated with the transmission replacement. We had specific instructions from Nissan Consumer Affairs to take our vehicle to a Nissan dealership to get it checked over and get the official Nissan repair estimate so that we could move forward with our claim with them. When my son called Aamco later to tell them he would be taking his car to the Nissan dealership that day, the manager informed him that they had already pulled his transmission out. He had NEVER authorized that, nor did he sign anything stating that he gave approval for this repair. Aamco’s actions prevented us from working with Nissan for the repairs as the transmission had been worked on by by a non-Nissan dealership. The manager apologized for the misunderstanding and offered my son a 6 month warranty instead of the standard 90 day warranty on a used transmission. However, an extension on a warranty does not fix the fact that they pulled the transmission without permission and prevented us from working with Nissan. I spoke to the owner of Aamco when my son and I picked up his car. The owner apologized for the misunderstanding and extended the warranty from 6 months to 12 months, again extended warranties do not fix the fact that an unauthorized repair was completed by this establishment. Their unauthorized actions literally prevented us from any other course of action and that is totally unacceptable. I am very dissatisfied with the actions of this business. I do not recommend them to anyone, and I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well. -Amanda Newberry

Be careful, and research before you come here.Just wanted everyone to know in Arnold MO AAMCO is a sham. For back brakes on my car they wanted over $350.00 for a job that would take less than an our to complete. Thats one hour labor, $150.00 parts at my cost not their cost where they get an discount and a less tax. Most repeatable, even dealership shops charge $60.00 per hour in labor. A different franchise shop is dong the very same job for just over $250.00 when Tony said I wouldnt be able to find it cheaper. Keep this in mind when you use these folks. I am tired of shops like this taking advantage of people!

They charged my mom 1,200 dollars for her engine and it still doesnt work. We drove it 4 miles and the check engine light keep coming on. These people are terrible. They dont care about your car. Go here if you want to throw your money down the drain. I hate this place

My ignition light came on a cpuple days ago. Said to come right in & check it is free. 11:55pm no line, cars filled in the garage and i thought there would be a wait. So goodness came through, the giy at the counter knew how to check the car. Something minor, the gas cap wasnt locked in all the way. Relieved it wasnt going to be a big bill. Thank you Rick for the time you gave my service. Close by and convenient.

Joe and Bret were so helpful, they took care of my problem at an excellent price and recommended the cheapest place (I called around and check) to go for the issue they couldnt fix! Highly recommended them!
