He did an outstanding job in creating a one of a kind family keepsake by taking 16mm film from the 1940s and 1950s and bringing it back to life! Imagine getting to see my parents Wedding from 63 years ago in living color. Craig helped me capture and bring to life all of the movies and slides that my Dad had taken to preserve the growing up of our family. There were more than 50 8mm movies and over 6,000 slides that needed to be digitized. It was quite a job that Craig handled quickly with great quality and at a reasonable price. ABOVE AND BEYOND EXPECTTIONS!I had apprehensions about sending my dads old 8mm film (50 years old film) out of state. When I found Craigs Home Video Studio, I was ecstatic! This film had no sound, but Craig added the most absolute complementary music that matched each reel perfectly! I couldnt have been more pleased! I had a VHS tape converted to digital. Craig was friendly and professional, and the project was done really quickly. The quality is great and the flash drive option made it super easy to watch my video and save it to my computer.I’m glad there are still local businesses to do this, and it was a much better value than mail-in companies, anyway.

Craig at Home Video Studio in Arlington has done a wonderful job of providing a challenging variety of video transfers for me, including 1/2 black&white reel-to-reel video from 1973, slides taken in 1970, VHS and 3/4 UMatic video shot in the 80s and 90s, and a large number of photographic prints. He takes the time to personally monitor and inspect transfers for fidelity, and can massage files that have suffered from the ravages of time.His work is excellent and always delivered on time...plus, hes a good guy! The first time I used Craigs studio was several years ago. He turned some old 8mm video cassettes I had into DVDs. There was no other way for me to see what was on them without buying some pretty expensive equipment that I would most likely never use again. They came out great so when I found a few VHS home movies in my attic I didnt even hesitate to go back.These were in bad shape but he managed to convert them to MP4s and saved the tapes. The quality wasnt as good as the 8mm had been when those were done but those were still in great condition, the VHS tapes were hardly fit to be played. Im pretty satisfied with the work done and if I find anything else to convert, Im going back. His studio can covert a multitude of media. If you have it, he can most likely convert it.

My own personal experience was awesome. I had a VHS tape transferred to dvd. It didn’t take as long as I thought it would (took about a week), but it’s probably dependent on how busy he is. This was a birthday present for my mom of my brother’s old baseball game in the 90’s. The dvd quality came out really good. And by good, i mean it still captured the 1990 quality we wanted. The quality did NOT go bad or look worse after the transfer, nor did it look like a fake 3D futuristic version. Along with the dvd transfer, he ALSO gave me back the original VHS tape which I thought was cool. I will definitely be using his service again, because I trust his work. He does care about the quality of his work and he understands how important these video memories are to his clients. I know there are other places that I could’ve mailed my tape to, but I was not comfortable with not knowing or being able to see the person handling something so fragily important to me. This was more comforting to me. That’s my honest opinion.
