I was in town for a party last week and wanted to spruce up before my event. I called to see if someone could fit me in before my party and was told to come on in. I wasn’t pleased with the shuffle game shifting me around from tech to tech before finally settling in for this poor job down below. My nails are a week old and look at them! The acrylic fell off the next day in several nails on top of me having to tell the tech to polish to the cuticle so it wouldn’t appears as if my nails were still in need of a fill. The pricing was astronomical and I don’t mind paying but $20 for four sunflowers nail art was ridiculous! It was nickel and dime at its finest! I hate leaving bad reviews but they deserved the one star I gave them! Message: be kind to ALL patrons my money was just as green as the next!Signed,Not impressed

Used to come to this salon all the time. Always had great service. Today I had a scheduled appointment for acrylic nails with design (would have been my first time so I was already nervous as is). I came in and they acted as though they had no idea about my appointment. Fine okay as long as they can still take me. I was asked to pick out a color. Then sat for about 5 minutes before being asked if I could wait 30 minutes..? I even got a reminder email the day before for my appointment to make sure I was on time. The pushy attitude asking me to wait “just 30 minutes” was too much for me so I left. Very disappointed. Booked a same day service as a salon in Falls Church. Hopefully that service is better.

I love this place and refuse to go anywhere else for my manicures and pedicures. I have been going to Lam for years and he is a true perfectionist. He takes his time on my nails but in the end they are literally perfectly shaped and polished with zero flaws. Im very picky so I would know. I also have seen Vicky there who also does a really amazing job. Other than that, the salon is clean, the staff is very friendly, and they have every color under the sun. Very very happy with them!

Highly recommend this nail salon. All of the staff are extremely nice and helpful. I have been here several times, and have never had a negative experience. They have a very wide selection for dip manicures, which is fantastic. Additionally, their team has taken extra care during COVID to make sure their customers feel safe. Everyone has their temperature checked when they come in, and plexiglass is set up at the counter and over by the massage chairs. While I recommend you call and make an appointment in advance, I have never had an issue with waiting very long when I walked-in. Love this place! They do great work. The staff is friendly and nice. They also have a great 14 day no chip policy. So if you chip your gel, they will fix it at no cost. They also have a number of covid measures up so it makes me feel safe

After attending my appointment at this nail bar i was very impressed by the way the staff was acting and most of all I see the owner/manager hired excellent professionals to do the job right. It was an amazing experience and my nails were fabulous !! I will most definitely come back again ! Thank you Kim!!

Best manicure in the area! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Place itself is definitely the nicest, newest, and cleanest of all the places I’ve been to in the area. The manicurist did an absolutely impeccable job, checking every little detail, yet without wasting time. High recommendation!

They give a great pedicure and manicure, they really take the time to get it right. The massage chairs are amazing and they are really good at fitting you in without having to wait. The Covid procédures they have set up make things really comfortable to get your nails done safely.

I have been going to Modern Nail Bar for the past two years and have no regrets! I always book appointments with Cherry and Lam and they are beyond professional, friendly, and do an incredible job. Came in w/o an appt today and sat down w/ Johnny for my first time! He was so nice and took his time w/ my nails! I originally had planned on fetting the SNS powder dip but, went with acrylics instead with the cat eye style. They came out so great! Next to perfect and better than expected. Gel manicure barely lasted a week without chipping. Highly disappointed as it’s more than what I normal pay for a gel manicure ($40). I expect them to last about 10-12 days before getting to this point. Photo is taken 5 days after the manicure

Good customer service and friendly environment. I took my mom and myself for the first time last weekend during COVID because shops in DC are still closed and was not disappointed. Good safety measures and both our nails, feet, and eyes brows turned out lovely.

I love Modern Nail Bar. Its very clean and the technicians are professional and wonderful. My nail techinician Annie is the great, and does a wonderful job. With the pandemic going on they care about your safety they give hand sanitizer, check your temperature before your service and even offer you water. I went with my friend for house special pedicures. It was great! Friendly staff and our toes look awesome! Very fair price for what you get. Would definitely go back! Didnt realize until after we got there that they dont accept tips on credit card, so remember to bring cash!

AVOID THIS PLACE! My girlfriend went there for a pedicure a week and a half ago. The next day her lower legs broke out in a severe rash. A doctor diagnosed it as folliculitis...aka spa rash. Caused by improperly sanitizing equipment between clients. Especially concerning since we are in the middle of a pandemic.

Second time here, atmosphere is relaxing and they have friendly staff. Both times I was taken care of by Vicky. She is great!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Im always so happy with everything when I get my nails done at Modern. I have RARELY had any chipping issues, compared to other salons I feel like my nails (even gel) chip after a week. Everyone is friendly and even though its a busy salon its still nice and relaxing.

I love this place! I just get a gel manicure but it always lasts me a good 4 weeks. They do an amazing job!

My first visit here was today and it was wonderful. The place a very nice. My nail tech Jenny ( I think that was her name) was amazing. Its been awhile since I treated myself and feet.

I’ve been here a few times for manicures and pedicures, it’s clean, the chairs are comfortable, the and I was happy with the service and results. They can get very busy during peak hours, so it’s good to call ahead or make a reservation if you’re coming during busy hours.

My go to nail salon! I am very meticulous and have had a lot of issues getting my nails done in the past, but not at Modern nail bar! They are amazing. I have gotten my nails done by a few of the technicians and they are all great. They are precise and make sure that you leave happy. I highly recommend seeing Vicky and Rosa!

Decent chairs and staff. Did a good job but its time to do some more self investing. Time to make some upgrades of equipment and decor in my opinion.

I’ve gotten my nails done twice here, both times I’ve been cut and was bleeding. This past time my nail tech cut me on three different fingers (two were cut with the cuticle machine and one was cut with a nail file). Two days later I’m still experiencing some pain.

Would give zero stars if I could!! Went here for my wedding day and asked for a simple design and showed pictures. They said yes yes we can do that we do it all the time. Once they started, I realized it wasn’t looking right and I showed it to them again and they said well we’re not gonna do that just a simple French manicure!! On top of it, I had a fungus once I removed the nails weeks later. $60 for a bad manicure and rude service, not to mention on the most important day of my life!

I just moved into the Clarendon/Courthouse area from Ballston and was looking for a new place to get my nails done. I had a gel manicure with regular pedicure and it came out to a reasonable price. Cherry, my nail technician, did an amazing job. I picked out a color and she even recommended a better bottle so that the color would show better and I was so pleased! I love the look of the place, very large and modern (appropriate for the name). I dont mind the wine not being offered, theyre in the process of getting a license for it. Im sure many of the customers will be happy when its an option for a drink but Ill take tea or water any day.I really enjoyed my experience at Modern Nail Bar, and will for sure be coming back.

Walked in and there was no acknowledgement.After picking my color (10min), a gentleman walked up and asked if someone had helped me. I said no, so he seated me for a pedicure only to come back to tell me that I had to wait again because someone else was already waiting.I walked out. Good luck.

Wish I couldve gave no star walked in with my 11 yr old daughter for Mommy daughter time was told to give them 30 mins didnt offer us a seat or anything. There were open seats we felt unwanted maybe because we are black. WE LEFT /WONT BE back!

My nail tech Cherry is awesome! Its a little more expensive than some places, but I feel its worth it for the service I receive. I just wish the manicure chairs were more comfortable.

I told her what I wanted and the technician wouldnt listen. My acrylic dip nail cracked within days and I am in a lot of pain because of it. Terrible quality, will not be coming back

One of the best in the DMV area!

Walked in and had no wait which was great, but the acrylic fill is mediocre at best. The gel is bumpy on some nails and none of my nails were shaped very well - all mismatched and not the same length. Also, during my service I asked for them to be made shorter and I was basically told no. Had to go home and re-file them myself. Wouldn’t rush to come back here.

The service is amazing....have come to the same location going on 5 years!!!

Although the service here was satisfactory, one of the nail artists flatly refused to serve my mother who is African-American and moved on to other customers. I will not be back. Such behavior beyond unacceptable.

Yeah....I went for a pedicure, my gf insisted, and I had a very pleasant time chuckling at all the strange names they give to nail polish. They have massage chairs, and wine-based decor all over, but I dont think they serve any.

Went to get my nails done for my birthday and the tech left so much to be desired. I asked for a mani pedi with a gel full set. The pedicure was okay but when it came to painting my toes she did the bare minimum. I had to ask for another coat. She COMPLETELY skipped the mani and when I said something about it she said it would cost more than the price it was already. When she started my full set she shaped them terribly uneven. Some crooked or some thicker than others. After it was all done and i gave my feedback she gave me a coupon for the next time I come back. Ha! I definitely will not be patronizing this establishment again.

Nathan made me feel welcome and Ben gave me a beautiful mani/pedi. Ben was attentive and easy to talk with and my time there was truly enjoyable. And the mani/pedi was fabulous. Definitely recommend.

If you don’t like when customers request to do a regular mani then don’t offer the service!!! The technician Nina did my nails, she was unprofessional and rude. She also filed each of my nails in a different shape. In addition, she rushed putting the nail polish causing it to cover the cuticle area and around the nail and failed to clean it well afterwards.

I am really not happy with my gel manicure and paint job. Started cracking days after I had my nails done. For the price i was charged it is daylight robbery
