Several years ago, I went seeking an activity that would not only help get the kids active but teach them about self-disciple. We tried gymnastics, dance, cheerleading and even music classes but whereas the teachers were kind and caring, they focused on the concept that everyone gets a trophy. That concept does not instill the need to achieve but rather just do the basics.Then we found WCRB Karate taught by Master Batiste. Here the kids, and parents, had to actually achieve in order to advance. The kids have to know the material and know it well in order to advance. My kids took to this concept like a moth to a flame.My five year old became more focused and have established a sense of pride in himself and accomplishments. His sister joined the next year and this became a competition between not only the other students but also each other.Their focus has improved, I have less talking-back and they are more engaged in activities faraway from their videogames, tablets and phones.Thank you Master Batiste!
