Trying different spin studios before I get my own Peloton and saw a three-class Groupon for Upbeat Cycling. It was a great deal at only $5 or $6 per class compared to a retail drop in of $27 for one class. Since I don’t live close (half hour away), I coordinate when I have my chiropractor appt in Arlington once a month and get 3 months to use the Groupon. The facility is beautiful but have to dock a star as street parking can be tough with all the construction going on. Additionally, I felt underwhelmed with my first class. There were only 3 of us, which was unfortunate to see as plenty of bikes shielded safely for social distancing. I’m currently also finishing a class pass at Rev’d Cycling and the energy they have over Upbeat can’t compare and is always filled. Upbeat is missing that oomph that should be synonymous with its name. The in-person offerings seem to be quite limited with no late morning classes like between 10-11am or earlier afternoon like 4:30pm which are times I like. It’s a great spin studio though and is the only one in Arlington. I hope it lasts.

Clean, only 7 bikes spread apart and separated by plexiglass, but still cool, kept below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Music good!!!!!

Love love love love Upbeat cycling. The instructors are super friendly and the location and parking is great. The place is so clean and welcoming. It has a real community feel where people can be themselves. Every time I go I get a really good workout. I also love how you get your stats sent to you after by email (for those of us who are competitive) so you can see how much you’ve improved and your output (rpms, calories, energy output etc). Highly Recommend!

I have been coming to this studio for a year. Its awesome. Cheerful, helpful staff. Clean, lovely space. I go to 5:30 am classes and there is always coffee made for after class for the clients. Top notch instructors that challenge us. I love how you get your stats after class. Im looking forward to trying other classes like TRX and Barre.

Very welcoming workout space. Spin is new to me and I am learning and motivated by good teachers. Its not a scene like some studios. Lota of bike riders who enjoy the indoor challenge.

This cycling and fitness studio is fantastic! I love everything about it! It is well managed, clean and inviting. The staff are cheerful and friendly offering chilled towels with a smile after workouts. The instructors are equal parts motivating and encouraging. All the cycling instructors I had class with were excellent (Kristen, Brittany, Suzanne). I also enjoyed taking TRX and strengthening classes (Sandra, Brittany, Kristen). This studio resuscitated my motivation for personal fitness and well-being. I love how each cycling class captures your performance data so you can proactively monitor your personal progress. I highly recommend this studio!!

I have been to several spin studios and this is BY FAR MY FAVORITE! The space is flawless, the bikes are smooth, and the instructors couldnt be better. Theres a great sense of community among all riders. Jackie, the owner, really makes an effort to learn your name. I highly recommend Brians class. You cant go wrong with UpBeat!

Upbeat was my introduction to spinning, and now I love it! The classes are challenging and the beats are dope. The equipment is top notch and the team is available to help you fit the bike to your specifications. I have also done a few of the TRX classes, which are fun and a fantastic abs workout!

Welcome to your new home for year-round indoor cycling!Greeted with aromatherapy and upscale decor, you’ll think youve entered a spa and not an indoor cycling studio. Check in at the front desk for you bike assignment and change up your shoes because things are about to get real... Real Fun!Store your belongings safely in the free lockers provided because you dont need anything but a positive attitude and to fill your water bottle with Vero Water! (cold water, room temperature water or fuzzy water... yup, no joke – we are talking quality) Youve already had the best experience and you havent even begun to ride so....Enter the “ride theater” where your fresh towel and bike await! Skilled instructors leverage years of experience combined with top of the line technology and state of the art bikes to create a demanding and results producing class no matter what your skill set is. Video screens, real time statistics and cool tunes keep you engaged the entire ride making the hour class “spin” by in no time. Shortly after the class concludes, your ride performance information is delivered to your email. As you exit the ride theater, grab a fresh cold towel and refill your water bottle.Convenient deodorant shower sheets are available in the dressing rooms so you don’t smell like you just left a cycling class. For an extra wined down, grab yoga after in “The Press Room”.UPBEAT Cycling is a cut above, the team has integrity and it shows in the attention to detail they provide. Lean on the owner, Jackie, and the UPBEAT Cycling team to achieve your goals. Check out the photos I captured and shared here but make sure you stop in and see for yourself. You’ll be glad you did!

Perhaps one of the most inspiring, modern, clean, and affordable spin studios around these days. Ive done quite a bit of spin classes in my time, and by far - UpBeat is perhaps the best experience ive had on the East Coast. Im picky when it comes to spinning (as an outdoor cyclist) and Jackie did a wonderful job designing this studio with great bikes and great perks - aromatherapy towels at the end of each workout,. Did I mention squeaky clean bikes?, (which they wipe down for you and place clean towels on your bike for you, beforehand) nice bathrooms, and super friendly staff. I feel at home here. You can even charge your phone in the lockers while you workout! I have had most all of the instructors and all are well trained and attentive. Its a great space and very positive vibe. I also love their community outreach. I wish all gyms could be this awesome!

I recently moved to the area from Boston, and have been desperately looking for a good spin studio- especially now that the weather is getting colder. As a frame of reference, I went to Turnstyle for years, but have tried every studio in the greater Boston area at one point or another.UpBeat has so much potential, but it just misses the mark for me. None of the three classes I have been to have had more than 15 people in them, which seems odd since it is the only spin studio for miles.Pros: It’s a beautiful space. Honestly, it’s one of the nicest studios I have been to, and there is plenty of parking nearby. The bikes are new and the spin room has a power/metrics board (though it is not used in the context of the class for races or competitions like at FlyWheel or Equinox). They also have a variety of different classes (spin, TRX, bootcamp and barre), and it appears as though they have packages you can share with family members. I also really like the split spin/weight training classes.Kristen is great. I would be here every day if all of the instructors had Kristen’s experience and energy. Her classes are well-planned, set to modern playlists and include perfectly timed choreography.Cons: Other than Kristen, I have been underwhelmed by the instruction. Most of the classes are designed to simulate outdoor riding, which is not what I personally want or expect in a spin class. I can throw my road bike on a trainer at home and get that kind of workout. I am paying $20 plus for the experience of being in a room full of riders who are lost in the energy and pace of a class. I totally get that some people are looking for this type of “real ride simulation” class, but having more beat-based options with great playlists might be something for UpBeat to consider. I imagine those empty bikes might be filled by others like me who are looking for a more traditional beat-based spin experience. Finally, there are no showers. This is a huge con for me, and I imagine many others who want to work out before heading to the office during the week. No showers means that my only option during the week is a 5:30AM class, and I don’t always want to wake up at 4:30 in the morning to work out.I will likely keep coming here once in a while to take a class with Kristen, but unfortunately I just don’t see UpBeat becoming my new home spin studio.
