Jeanhee is so wonderful to work with! I found my wedding dress online and fell in love, but I only had the option of buying it one size too small or three sizes too big. Before purchasing, I called Elim Boutique to get advice. Jeanhee was gracious enough to explain how she would alter the dress (and recommended going larger).I brought it in for a consultation and knew immediately that I trusted the dress in her hands. The dress fit perfectly at the first fitting—it was unbelievable that I had been swimming in a dress way too large for me only a few weeks prior. We only had to do a second fitting bc I didn’t have my shoes for the initial fitting, so we couldn’t determine length yet.I also requested for her to make a mask with the extra fabric (removed from hemming), and she made a beautiful high-quality mask. After my wedding, I definitely will be wearing it all the time!I’m forever grateful to Jeanhee for making my wedding dress dreams come true! Came in to get my winter bomber jacket tailored. She did a wonderful job, everything she measured was exactly what I had in mind. Price came out to be higher than my jacket itself, thats only because I:- Shortened the waist length- Tapered the back- Brought in the shoulders- Shorted arm lengthIts nice to have it done correctly the first time.

Could not say enough great things about Elim!! I brought a rush bridesmaids dress to be taken out and hemmed in a short 2 week timeline. Jeanhee had to take out 6 seams on the dress and it looks absolutely flawless & fits like a glove!! I came back a week later for the hem, she knows what she is doing! I was very hesitant to post this but with all the great reviews, I feel I need to share my experience so other Brides dont get duped.I had a very poor experience at Elim Boutique. I believe she might be well suited for simple materials and simple alterations such as hemming. But any complicated material or style is probably out of her ability.I brought my wedding dress to get altered. It was a beautiful lace dress and I only needed the bust area to be fitted to my size and a bustle. Unfortunately, the tailor took on this project that was well above her expertise. She destroyed my dress. For the record, I am not a super picky person. I am not over the top demanding. I came in for a simple alteration for the dress to fit me appropriately. She charged me alot (I recieved quotes afterwards that it could have been done for half the price). I went with Elim because of the great past reviews and location.For the initial fitting she pinned away the excess material. Little did I know she was going to simply cut away the fabric. And change the neckline. The next visit, It looked like something was not right and couldnt pin point it. She just reiterated that it looked beautiful and perfect. But the bust still was ill-fitting.I realized later that week that she completely altered the neckline. After bringing it up she got angry with me and threatened to charge me more if I wanted further alterations done. I simply went in there to tell her the dress wasnt the same. I came in to get the bust fitted to be appropriately. She calmed down and then over the next few visits she tried to over correct the mistake (which she still refuses to own up to), which led to changes in the waist and back just to make it fit, further altering the original design. And then the bust STILL didnt fit and looked awkward.She also pretended like she didnt understand what I was saying to her (she is Korean) on several occasions. She just had a glazed over look.We called up the dress designer and showed the photos of the alterations done, after the second fitting. The designer informed us that it was done incorrectly and the neckline should not have been touched at all. They advised that we bring the dress to a reputable tailor instead.So the final visit I brought a Korean friend to help translate my concerns with the dress and she flat out told us that she understands English completely. She did offer a full refund, which I appreciated but the fact that I basically had to corner her in her native language does not put me at ease.I have since brought the dress to another tailor who has to undo all the work done, bring it back as close to originak as possible, and then do the alterations correctly. (Elim also used BLUE thread on a white dress, why?!! She made cuts in the tulle that are not fixable as well. Beading was also falling off the dress as I took it home from her shop). I now have to pay nearly the cost of the original dress in order to fix it.This experience should have been pretty straightforward and easy. Goes to show you cant always trust the 5.0 star reviews on Yelp and Google.I am very sad to have to write a review like this. I highly recommend staying away from Elim for advanced tailoring. If you do go, bring a family member or friend, preferably one who speaks Korean just in case.

I had my jacket re-lined here, they did a fantastic job! Ive also had several pairs of pants sized, each time its perfect. I think they are the cheapest in the Arlington area as well, I highly recommend!

I had purchased a wedding dress online and couldnt zip it up...not even a little. The owner worked miracles! She admitted that it would be difficult because all of the lace and beads would have to be removed from that area. She was worth the money spent. The quality was fantastic. I highly recommend this shop and will not go anywhere else for alterations.

I brought in a formal tuxedo — a tail suit — for alterations. I bought it used, and it was a pretty good fit in some ways, but needed many complex adjustments. I bought the tuxedo for ballroom dance competitions. Ballroom tuxedos are built differently from regular tuxedos, making them even trickier to work with. I was a little nervous that maybe the requirements were too complicated, but the service here exceeded my expectations. She worked with me closely throughout the process. This was my first ballroom tail suit, so there were some things I was unsure of in terms of what it was supposed to look like. I took the suit home, danced in a couple of competitions, and got some feedback from professional ballroom dancers on how to fine tune the look. I brought it back to Elim Boutique and she accommodated my additional requests perfectly. Now I have exactly the look and fit I need. I highly recommend the services here!

Im a shortie with a love of high quality jeans/pants. I always find the perfect jeans/pants but 3 times too long for my legs. Ive taken every pair to Elim and its as if they came in just the perfect size for me! Her work is so good its not noticeable that there was even work done. I will be taking my pants here till the day I die!

Brought in 5 pairs of suit pants in here for some tailoring work I needed done. At first I was concerned about the price ($30/pair), but really, it was an investment in the pants to make sure I wouldnt have to replace them down the line.The tailoring work took a little over a week, and Ive been wearing my suit pants since. Im very happy with the quality of the work, and the pants still look great. They seem to be holding up very well, and Im very happy with the tailoring work done.While it seems like many people come to the tailor for wedding attire, I would recommend coming here for every day business wear. It seems like a good investment to keep those clothes still looking good, and the quality of the workmanship is great. I know the price may put some people off, but at least I know that the work is done well.

Wow this place is amazing. I brought my wedding dress here. Throughout the process I was losing weight and she continued to work on my dress! The end result was everything. I was also able to get my dress customized. They dress originally came with a zipper in the back. We had it removed for a keyhole back. It was perfect.

I recently took a skirt in for alterations and before I could tell her what I thought was needed, she took one look and said “I know what to do”. She has never disappointed me and this time was no exception. She not only knew what to do, she ensured it worked for my body. I found this place after trying 4 other tailors in the Arlington area. The price to shorten dress shirt sleeves ($25) is comparable to others, and that, combined with the excellent customer service and attentiveness, has made this my new go-to for tailoring. I had the very nice lady that runs the business alter 15 dress shirts (basically my entire work wardrobe).

The owner/lead tailor here is lovely, very communicative and extremely professional. She tailored my wedding dress meticulously, and did a superb job with very complicated beading. Because of her my dress is absolutely perfect and expertly tailored to my shape. She is very talented and I take all of my clothing to her because of her expertise and attentiveness. I brought in an off-the-rack linen suit that was around 3 sizes too large for me in every direction. She did an amazing job tailoring it to fit me like a glove. For what I paid for the suit and the alteration, I got what looks like a custom-made piece that would easily cost 2-3 times as much. The quality, price, and service were great. This is by far the best tailor I have tried in the DMV area. I am very particular about the style, technique, etc, having worked in tailoring myself. The attention to detail and the quality produced was fantastic. They make sure to spend lots of time with you during the fitting to ensure that everything is perfect once completed!

This place is the best. I have been going there for a long time. Had a lot of clothing altered from pants to skirts, dresses. Ms. Jean has done an excellent job always. She pays attention to detail. What I like about her is that she will tell you exactly what she likes about a piece and whether or not alteration is warranted. She knows her job very well. She communicates very well. Not detail-oriented and expensive.Two issues with two shirts. 1. Brought in a brand new shirt for sleeve work and the seamstress tore the neck. They gave me the shirt and never fixed it the neck (very obvious). I had to ask to fix it.2. The owner said she would put on all new dress shirt buttons. I paid her for 11 buttons and stiching. However, she decided to sew three different button styles onto a mans dress shirt. Come on, everyone knows dress shirts come with all the same buttons. Owner is lazy and not detail-oriented. Since then, I have visited other tailors to fix the issue and they have better craftsmanship at a lower price.

I have never been more impressed by a tailor/seamstress! I had a disaster with my bridesmaid dress the day before my best friend’s wedding - it was two sizes too big. With less than 24hrs before the wedding, I frantically called all of the tailors in the area to see if they’d be able and willing to take in my dress. Of the ones who were able to help, none of them matched the price Jeanhee gave me! But that alone wouldn’t be enough to make me write a review. The work on my dress was STUNNING. (Great opportunity to walk around site seeing D.C. after dropping off your uniform) Its not always easy finding military reviews to help us with our needsI looked for shops with 4/5 star reviews and sifted through them this place had the best ones. I called and spoke with the owner who was confident with their experience between military and law enforcement uniforms they do/have done. Between the reviews and speaking with the shop owner about their experience we felt good about taking my husbands Marlow White dress blues (ASU/Army Service Uniform) here to get altered. I set us up an appt for the fitting and not only was her turn around time much quicker then Marlow White but she was accommodating and took care of every picky detail we wanted addresses on the uniform. We bought the uniform off the rack at Marlow white and she did an amazing job with it. The sleeve hem, yellow cording, rank service stripes and over seas stripes were all sewn on flawlessly and IAW regulations. For outstanding customer service and attention to detail I would definitely recommend Elim Boutique and will be back in the future as needed

I can never wear anything off the rack; everything needs to be hemmed or taken in. I have brought Jeanhee everything from my favorite everyday jeans and skirts to my business/special occasion dresses. No matter the task, be clear about what you want. Jeanhee will give you expert advice and get the job done well and fast. I am always excited to pick up my clothes because everything fits like a glove after.
