Ive been going here for about two years and recently Ive noticed a decline in their professionalism. The last two visits Ive had to send an item back to be worked on again. If they had bothered to measure me the first time (like I requested) they would not have to waste time doing it over again! Also, they dont bother to remove leftover threads or press the garments. Its simply sloppy work. Guess its time to find another place who cares about me and my clothes.

This place is usually friendly and professional. I went to get a pair of TB jeans hemmed and requested the original hem be kept. Rose indicated she wasn’t sure if she could keep the original hem. She paused and said to her employee, in English, cannot keep the original hem. Rose asked her employee to relate the information to me. There was no need to do that because I speak English. It is my native tongue. I paused cause these jeans have a side split opening and the hem keeps the slit semi closed, she did not let me answer and said to her employee, “Just leave the hem as is, she is not going to be happy no matter what I do.” I am Hispanic and I think she thought I did not understand what she was saying. Needless, to say I will not be coming here again.

I have used this business several times and have always been pleased with their work, but today, they did something extraordinary. I took my grand daughters stuffed dog in for repairs. They said it would take a week because they are so busy. I explained that a little girl could not be without her stuffed dog that long, and they called extra help in to get in done the same day ....... AND refused a generous tip. Thank you for caring! You are the BEST. It is nice to know that there are people in the world like these. ❤❤❤❤❤

10/21/20TL;DR - Quality work but higher prices, professional, simpler alterations favored, no hat alterations, complex/numerous alterations can lead to refusal, and there are captioned pics of items I have had altered.QUALITY/PRICING: This establishment does do work that is a bit higher standard compared to other places that I have tried, but as such the pricing is reflective of this, so think of what you want; quality and higher price here or cheaper prices but slightly less quality work from somewhere else.PROFESSIONAL PROS/CONS: They are professional, but almost to their detriment. I do cosplay and sometimes I ask for some slightly outlandish requests beyond that of a simple hem and patch job here and there and I feel like the more complex or numerous your alterations are, the less likely they are to agree to alter your garment. They wont alter hats, I didnt expect them to, but I confirmed it. They will alter a bikini but not lingerie, I find this a bit hypocritical but most places also dont do lingerie either. Some service might come off as a bit cold as a result. Dressing rooms were nice.COMPLETED JOBS: I have some pictures of a few items I have had altered attached to this review, including a mask which I wanted an additional layer of silk added to it (costs $10) and two of the same dresses (but different color) to be hemmed a few inches (I dont remember how much I paid for this job). I previously went to another tailor for my wedding dress alterations and omg what a mistake that was. I only had two weeks before my wedding & my dress was a disaster, I made an appointment with Alterations by Rose hoping they could fix my dress. I was crying while she inspected the dress& this sweet woman told me not to worry and that she would fix my dress. I will never go anywhere else.

Rose was amazing. I took my wedding dress to her about a week before I flew out of state and she had my dress ready in less then 24 hours. Super sweet woman. Not to mention she did not charge me much. She just kept saying how beautiful and happy she wanted me to be on my wedding day. I would recommend her to anyone that needs a tailor!

Straight Hem was $20 for one dress.I wonder how much real alterations are at this place. The lady grabbed my dress and went up to the other lady and she was like $20. Do y’all just make this stuff up? I didn’t like that at all. Also; I wasn’t called about my stuff, I just ended up going because they were about to close.Make sure to get a price before you leave. DO NOT let them work on anything without a price. A hem does not cost $20I actually need to get a few things worked on and wanted to try this place before getting several pieces fixed, I’m super happy I was scammed now rather than later.

Rose and her team are FANTASTIC! My family has used Rose’s tailoring since I was in elementary school, and she has altered every formal dress I’ve ever worn, from school dances to bridesmaids dresses. Best tailor around without a doubt!

I recently had my wedding dress altered here! Rose was very friendly and professional! I was able to schedule an appointment and she had me in and out within 30 minutes of my appointment, and my alterations were done within a week. I picked up my dress last week and tried it on over the weekend while my girlfriends were over and they mentioned a minor issue with the clasp, so I ran the dress back up there to get it fixed. Even without an appointment Rose saw me right away and fixed it for me, free of charge. I highly recommend Alterations by Rose! I am very pleased with how it all turned out! Great experience! 😊

She does really good work. Very nice lady 2. Ive been taking stuff 2 get repaired 2 her 4 years and Ive found out that they dont do military clothes. Other than that its all good.

I went to Rose when I graduated college to get my new suits tailored. Back then, I had a 15 inch difference between my hips and waist and pencil skirts were fashionable. A few years later, she fit my dress for my first wedding and her work was impeccable. Fast forward 20+ years, and she fit my dress for my second wedding. The dress was beautiful and I received many compliments. She’s currently working on my daughter’s wedding dress. I only trust Rose with important garments!

Probably did the best job possible tapering a pair of pants to the same size as another pair I brought, and did fantastic patch work. Charged 32 dollars on a pair of Levi 501s. Its worth it, best alteration shop Ive been to in Arlington so far

Rose is an artist and miracle worker! I took a dress to her that I had no idea how she would be able to fix. She was able to let it out using fabric from the hem and still keep the intricate details. It looked perfect and was done very quickly! I will always go to Rose for alterations!

We had an emergency alteration situation! We only had a day to have my daughters dress altered, and the lady at the shop was so kind and accommodating! She stayed open later than planned for us to swing by and have the dress pinned/dropped off. She turned the dress around in less than 24 hours with perfect quality! Got charged double for what I actually got. I took in 2 pair scrub pants..they were too long..they came with a split hem. I was asked if I wanted straight or split..it really didnt matter. I was quoted $10 for straight, $20 for split. On the written ticket it said split..charged $20. I received straight hemmed pants..the hems are perfect length, look great. Lesson here is, kids, check the written ticket before you go in, and check your stuff before you leave. I feel like I lost the shell game. I dont think Ill come here again. What a shame.

We came in almost less than 24 hours from when I was supposed to wear my bridesmaid dress and she reassured me that she would have my dress done by end of day!!! She saved me a lot of tears and stress. I will only use this company from now on.

I took my wedding gown to Rose 2 days before my wedding because it was too small. I thought for sure she wouldnt be able to let my dress out that close to my wedding, but she did it in less than 12 hours and put my nerves at ease. She is also very reasonably priced. I would recommend her to anyone!

I just picked up my wedding dress from Rose today, and I could not be happier with the quality of her work and the service I received!I gained some weight after buying my dress and it didnt fit when I picked it up from the boutique. Every brides worst nightmare! When I took it to Rose, I didnt know if there was anything that could even be done, but she was wonderful...very positive, and told me right away what she could do to make it fit.Since I first dropped it off, she adjusted the size twice...once to let it out and once to take it back in when I lost a few pounds. Throughout the whole process, the dress looked perfect! Her work is very high quality and youd never know it had been altered.I cant recommend Rose enough. Brides, you will not be sorry to leave your precious garments in her hands!

Rose said no you just have a seat I can do it for you right now! She had me done in about 10 - 15 minutes tops! It looked great! You couldnt even tell anything had been done! Rose is an angel sent from above. When we moved to Arlington, I didnt know anything about the local businesses. My husband went to rose first and he could not say enough great things about how awesome she was. I have never had a great experience with alterations, but went to rose myself and have never stopped going back.Rose is amazing, makes recommendations, tells you how it is, always fixes anything if you are not satisfied (which rarely happens), she knows all her customers, and has made miracles happen. I have had her hem things, take things in, remove a hood from a jacket, take out sleeves, shorten sleeves, everything, and she does it all so well.I wont go anywhere else!
