Day attendant is extremely rude, unprofessional, and lazy. I have used this place atleast once a week and have to agree with other reviews here. I dreaded having to go in every week for the free drying but definitely willing to pay the extra for friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Great employee, dryers get things dry quick. They DO need to get around to fixing broken machines tho!

Clean and well maintained.Bridget the Manager is very helpful and nice. Its under new ownership by the same people who own Suds and Duds laundromat in Mckinleyville which is nice as well. Place is always clean and machines are good. Free drying with wash. Drop off service and a genuinely nice place to get laundry done in Arcata.

Ill start with the positive; the place is clean.Now, the rest of my experience. Every other washing machine had a sign saying it was OUT OF ORDER. Several dryers were OUT OF ORDER. There was an available dryer but the attendant told me I couldnt use it & it remained empty the entire time I was there but wasnt out of order. The attendant told customers they had to wear masks but she wasnt wearing a mask & then she complained when someone pointed this out to her. She was not friendly. She was barely helpful. There were tables inside but nobody was allowed to sit there & since I walked to this place I had to stand outside for almost two hours which was annoying. Its $5 to wash so every machine should be working all the time. Free dry doesnt matter if you cant wash all the loads you need to get done. Also, several dryers had loads of clothes setting in them from the time I arrived to the time I left and that shouldnt be happening.There was a customer there who was so rude that she took up both folding stations for well over 30 minutes. I had to fight for a small space to fold my stuff so I didnt get home with wrinkled clothes. Turns out that customer was friends with the attendant so it explained the rude behavior.After I got home, I ordered a portable washer & dryer for my place so I never have to deal with this place, again. If I need to wash bigger items, Ill try one of the other laundromats in town & hope theyre better.

Update! This laundromat is clean and Dryer is free (for those who wash). Management is fair and most of the employees are amicable and professional. There was one employee who refused to follow Mask protocol, However, soon after this previous review posted, this problem has been taken care of and this laundromat is now as safe as can be hoped!Overall a good experience. We do our wash there once a week.

One of the better mats in the area but the fact that the attendee I see there most doesnt wear a mask I will be looking for another mat.

Terrible experience!The attendant was without mask and totally unobservant of social distancing.Paid for them to transfer my clothes to dryers. Lost a significant amount of my clothing, gave me someone elses and when I returned them showed no interest or care about retrieving mine that were in their care.I will never use them again I recommend anyone stay away as they do not wear masks during a pandemic.

For the past 6 months I would say that 50% or more of their machines are out of order at any given time. Tonight I was just encouraged not to go in by an employee standing in front of the door, giving me attitude because I was coming to put my laundry in 15 minutes before the cutoff time of 8:00; Id guess she wanted to close up and go home an hour early.

This place is great!!Free dry the wash was only 5 dollars.You can pay a extra 2 dollars, and the friendly staff will transfer your load to the dryer for you so you.Very clean they wipe down each machine after it is used!!Best place in town to do your laundry

11 machines out of order, four functional. Staff is rude. Expensive. Try the competition a couple blocks to the north a couple!e streets up for reasonable rates and cleaner facility.

Its great! Its 5 $ washing and u get the drying for free. Theres parking lot, toilet and change machine. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Rude staff, came in at 6:50 and was told to leave because they close at 8:00. Obviously just wanted to get off work early.

I went in there to do laundry and found out that the laundry attendant that I thought was so nice and sweet I been fired why in the world would they fire such a nice lady, the vibe in that place now is just weird, now just grumpy people in there , no music to listen to its just not the same . ? But free dryers that still was nice.

One star for community support. Free Wash cancelled, because SPEEDWASH lost the funding. Hmmmm, guess we go to the bottom line as it regards motive to help.

They charge extra for hot water washing....no hot water. I was there early, only one washer was running, not on hot, I went to the bathroom, ran the hot water side for 5 minutes....no hot water. Lame. Ripoff.

This is a classic laundry mat, the employees are nice, you can get a 4 loader for 9$ and that should hold all of most peoples darks or whites. It is simple and cheap, what more could you ask for

This place isnt nearly as popular as Emerald, I mostly just stayed away because something had to be wrong with it. But today I went because Emerald totals $9 for a wash and dry while $5 at Speedwash. A few reasons why its not as popular could be, they only allow quarters, opens later in the day and there are a lot of Out of Order signs. Honestly none of that bothers me per say. I gave it 3 stars because my experince kind of sucked. The stupid machine ate one of my quarters thats why. Im more disappointed that I expected something like this to happen and it did. Would have been real cool if it hadnt.

I wouldn’t even give them one stars I have been coming here for a year and today was one of the first day I have been very very upset with what has happened I didn’t not pay nor did I ask for help I can do my own laundry I come in to find my stuff in a basket mind you most of them don’t even work I took a few minutes to come in and grab it and the owner/ manger didn’t don’t wanna help out at all I would buy now I won’t recommend this place t anyone I will be finding a new place to go
