Just got my daughter in karate called little ninjas and its the best decision I have ever made its such a Wonderful place for karate 🥋 they make you feel very welcome they are all so friendly I cant wait to see my daughter succeed,grow and accomplish many things with The Academy Martial Arts leaders

The academy is an awesome place for the whole family. My husband originally signed up to get back in shape and learn karate. The sense of community, awesome extra offerings (parents nights out, Christmas party, Halloween activities, after school programs, and camps), and the valuable life skills taught prompted us to sign our daughter up as well. They have fun themed days like Star Wars Bring a Friend Day that add an extra element of excitement! She has gained confidence, discipline, and determination attending the Academy! She cant wait to advance to the black belt team!

The Academy is an awesome place with outstanding hands on Instructors who motivate, while teaching respect, discipline towards yourself and others. I have noticed a difference in my child while she is moving up the ranks. This isn’t just geared towards younger kids or teens; they have an amazing adult program too! The Academy has done so many great things for our daughter! Our family feels so blessed to have their Karate and E-Learning staff in her life. We started Karate America through the Appleton parks and recreational program. My 7 year old son has always had a passion for martial arts. I was so very pleased how the instructors interact and most of all communicate with the children. The program is very structured and at the same time fun. The office employees are absolutely fabulous as well. What I appreciate most is how prompt they are with any concerns or questions we have. I am often at lessons with fellow karate parents commending Karate America!

We first enrolled our daughter in The Academy of Martial Arts through Appleton Parks & Rec when she was almost 5 years old. In just those 4 weeks, I could see the wonderful life skills of honesty, respect, integrity, focus, confidence, discipline and kindness come out in her. We enrolled her again recently as a 6 year old and her excitement to come to class each week is a joy to see. The staff and instructors at The Academy are fantastic! They truly model the values that are being taught in each session, and treat each student like a person, not a number. I’m truly astounded by their abilities to remember every kiddo’s name! Not only am I proud of the improvement she’s made in her martial arts skills as a “Little Ninja,” but I’m more proud of what our daughter is learning in the classes of being a caring, respectful and responsible person, to herself and to others. We hope to continue her lessons here and recommend it to any and everyone!

Our family had been attending classes at The Academy for about 12 years. The qualities the staff instills and reinforces with my kids is priceless. My daughter is more confident and strives to be an instructor someday. My oldest son received his Black Belt nearly 10 years ago and still talks about it! My youngest son has improved focus and self control that I know he couldnt have achieved without the support of The Academy staff. The adult classes are a great workout and a ton of fun. I consider The Academy staff and students family. Always supportive and welcoming to existing families and new families. 5 stars isnt enough to show my love for this place!!!

The people working there take the time if you have any questions. They put you at ease and work amazing with the children. I am very happy with them.

Our seven-year old daughter recently joined the Academy, and it quickly became her favorite activity. She is excited about it every week, and after watching a few of her classes, I understand why. The instructors set clear expectations, and are incredibly helpful, positive, and encouraging. She learns martial arts basics, including self-defense techniques, but so much more. They talk about discipline, respect, safety, and other critical concepts, and this comes from great role models that the children are eager to emulate. She has so much fun in the class and comes home feeling empowered, strong and excited to show us what she learned. Highly recommend!

They truly care. Cooper is on the autism spectrum and karate has improved his social skills and self confidence.I cannot recommend the Academy and its staff enough for helping our son reach his full potential.

My son, which is 10, joined the Academy almost 3 years ago. We were new in the area and we were looking for a place where we can find new friends and a healthy environment for our kids. The Academy has giving us more than that. What started as just a hobby for my son became a passion. He learned to love Karate and became more disciple, respectful, focus at school and home. A lot of the values that are taught at home are reinforced at the Academy. The instructors are very knowledgeable and care about the kids. They are willing to go beyond to help a kid learn and are always welcoming. We usually spent three days a week at the Academy and believe it is completely worth it.I love how they give back to the community with free events and volunteering samples. I have a daughter that will be turning 5 in a couple of months. She will be joining the Academy soon. Because we will like her to learn self-defense, but most import of all, take advantage of teaching her young about all the values the Academy follows.

The Academy has been exactly what our son needed. We signed up in hopes to help him learn self confidence and to find something he could have fun with. What we discovered in our first year has been so much more! The instructors have been amazing with our son and have helped him to gain the confidence and discipline he needed. Our son has learned more self control, respect and a ton of new skills. Being a member of the Academy also brings exciting parent night out, fun kid days and other community events. The overall teaching here at the Academy reaches beyond the mat and into everyday life lessons.

In the beginning of 2018 my family signed up for karate classes with The Academy with the expectation that my children might learn a little self-discipline and have fun while doing so. After a few months in, I was so impressed with staff that I wanted my children to be immersed as much as they could in their program. We have participated in their after school program and summer camp as well, and stating that we have been totally satisfied is an understatement!Not only does the program itself allow my kids to enjoy martial arts and learn at the same time, the black belt instructors, teachers, and clerical staff make us feel like we’re part of their family. The positive attitude and care for their community doesn’t stop at the mat. It has expanded to all parts of our lives. The program isn’t about making the best karate students….it’s about making all who walk through their doors be the best people they can be. Definitely recommend!!! My oldest son has been a student there since he turned 4 (it’s been over a year now). I want to specifically talk about Mr. Van Ekeren — and really, the whole black belt team — it’s awesome watching them teach the Little Ninjas. I am astounded that they know every kid’s name, especially with masks on!Mr. Van Ekeren keeps the kids focused; he is able to survey the whole class’s progress during a drill and correct as necessary; he relates to them in his speech, his jokes, and references every day occurrences in a child’s life. He explains things well; it’s easy for the kids to understand. I love how he teaches respect — he doesn’t demand it. He compliments them to boost their confidence in themselves. He relates what they’re being taught in karate to their home and school life.I am constantly impressed with everyone here in the year that Grayson has been a student. I think I look forward to coming to watch just as much as Grayson enjoys coming to class!Keep up the great work!

My son has grown tremendously since beginning classes and the after school program at The Academy! Mrs. Denu was fantastic to work with as our son began attending Classical and we were in a pinch for before/after care since he was on the waiting list and got a spot last minute! She consistently kept us updated on the spot that could possibly open up and within a week he was in the program! The staff is incredibly professional and encourage respect and success in all aspects of life for each and every kiddo! We hope that soon our stepson can begin! Our kids attended summer camp at the Academy last summer and have been doing lessons there for almost a year. We cannot say enough good things about both! The kids had a BLAST at camp every day, and LOVE their karate classes. My girls have only been attending class for a short period of time but I am so impressed by the friendly instructors and positive messages they are teaching the students. Critical life lessons about working hard and not giving up and practice for improvement all delivered in a positive way. A very uplifting and encouraging environment!

We joined The Academy about 2 years ago (ages 8 and 7 when starting the program) since neither of our children are “ball sports” kind-of people and we wanted them to try something new. I have enjoyed our time ever since. The instructors and staff know every students name and connect with them on a personal level. One of our children gets distracted easily and struggles with keeping focus. Through the leadership program, he is learning how to set goals and different approaches to keep on track like writing his goal down, making a vision board, and telling other people to help hold him accountable. Even though he has only been in the leadership program for 4 weeks so far, we can already see a difference. The Academy is way more than self-defense. It teaches integrity, respect for others, responsibility, and above all kindness (surprising huh?).

The Academy has a fantastic structure that not only show our child the skills to be a martial artist but they demonstrate life skills that he can use in everyday life. Everyone who works at the academy from the front desk to the black belt instructors are nothing but fantastic! We would highly recommend the academy to anyone both kids and adults.

The Academy of Martial art is part of Samyak’s life since he was 6 years old. He love to go every-time!Each class is very interactive by talking about everyday life rules and virtues, also how to use those virtues in daily life. Academy’s Management and the instructors are very polite and awesome.We just love it!!!

We have had a great experience so far at the Academy. Our son walked in a little hesitate but walked out of the initial class wanting to know every day he could go to class. The teachers and staff are great to all students and parents. They handle the kids in a most respectful manner. We see each child getting praise and encouragement. It is never a fight to go to class and watching our son in the class is such a great sight.

Our daughter started a little over two years ago with this just being a new activity to try beyond the sport teams she normally does. Instantly she fell in love with it and looks forward to it each week. As her father I mainly wanted her to learn self defense. The things she has learned beyond that has been incredible. Her self-confidence and motivation has developed in a positive way. We are very impressed with the program offered here.

I have had my two sons involved in Karate America since the summer of 2016. I wanted this for them in general for a positive and possible lifelong activity to enjoy. However, individually, my boys have different qualities I wanted to grow and develop. My 8 year old is highly intelligent but struggled to find confidence in himself. My 6 year old, also very intelligent, struggles with self-control and channeling his energy. Karate America has a wonderful structure that welcomes newcomers as well as challenging students who have been there for awhile. The instructors are fun and engaging while holding high expectations of focus, and self-control, and positive behaviors from all students. Each class is taught with inclusion, positive reinforcements, and challenging each student to try their hardest appropriately for their age and skill level. My 8 year old takes his karate lessons seriously while having fun, and I have seen his self-confidence and leadership grow. I have watched my 6 year old work hard to gain control over his actions and behaviors, and can redirect himself much easier. As a parent, Karate America and all of the staff reinforce positive life skills I teach in my home, and has helped me in my parenting by using their examples and verbiage to connect ideas and actions with my kids. Both of my children talk excitedly about, and are committed to lifelong goals associated with martial arts, and I commit to support them as I can already see the positive benefits. I thank each instructor and staff member at Karate America for the opportunity and experience they offer to students and families.

On a beautiful night on the third of July a few years ago, my wife and daughter stopped by The Academy’s karate tent and demo at the Appleton fireworks. Our daughter was high energy and needed to learn respect and self-discipline. We were in luck! She loved the program and more importantly the people. She is now almost 9 years old and a year away from her black belt. We are very fortunate that we found The Academy right away without investing time and money into other programs. I can say that the owners and instructors make all the difference. They have a formula that others cannot replicate. Just stop in to watch a class and you’ll see what I mean!

The Karate America academy and what the program represents has been a very positive experience for both my nine year old son, our four year old daughter... and family in general. There are life skills/character traits that are taught every class in areas such as honesty, integrity, respect, and self discipline to name a few. These teaching of these positive character traits are integrated in to the teaching of karate, and serve as a solid reinforcement of what we all strive to teach at home. The staff is a class act, very professional and good with kids of all personality types. The kids have fun! I would highly recommend this program!

My nieces have been training at Karate America for over a year now. If you are looking for a location where training in the art of karate and other martial arts/self defense techniques are taken seriously, where old fashioned values are taught and practiced, where everyone is welcome, then this is the place for you!My niece’s confidence, self discipline, respect, and focus have improved significantly since going to Karate America. The instructors have this way of teaching kids the traditional martial arts techniques in a way that kids want to learn. They makes it fun, engaging and challenging! I started training here when I was 10 years old. Im 29 now. I taught at this gym, too. You will be hard pressed to find a martial arts academy with a cleaner facility and a more professional staff.What this academy has goes well beyond that, though. Mr. Denu, owner and chief instructor here, has been a huge influence on me - in fact, I would argue that my two biggest role models in my life have been him and my father (who I trained with at this gym for many years, by the way). My life would have probably been very different without my experiences at this place. Being here will set you on a path - a positive one. You will want to eat healthier so you have more energy to train. You might want to train to the point where you can teach martial arts, so inspired are you by the training partners and role models you will find here. I know this because it is my story.I have since moved on to train full time elsewhere...but I wouldnt have done that without Karate America starting me on that path. I love martial arts because of this place.

My two oldest kids attend Karate America Appleton and the growth and development I have seen in them over the years has been tremendous. We explored several Karate studios and chose Karate America Appleton because of the facility and the quality of the owners and instructors. This place is amazing. The entire staff is polite, professional and personable! As a Military family, it is always an adjustment for everyone with each move. Especially for the kids. They have done an amazing job helping my son make his transition to the area. It goes beyond just training in Karate, they create a family environment! All 3 of my kids have had the opportunity of doing classes here. My 14 year old earned his black belt after lots of hard work. Karate has molded him into an amazing young man. My 5 year old is a little ninja, and happy to be following in his big brothers foot steps. He knows what is expected of him and he is learning new skills all the time! The Academy is an amazing organization to be a part of! Our son has been a student for about 2 years and it is amazing to see how committed he is. So much so that hes figured out how old hell be once he becomes a 4th degree black belt. It has become a 2nd home for us. Last year he even had his 8th birthday party there with a bunch of kids!In addition to karate classes our son also participates in the after school program and summer care. Its been so great getting to know the other families and were looking forward to many more years to come.

We enrolled or 3 boys a couple months ago and could not be more pleased with the program. All of my boys love to go to karate class twice a week. The instructors are great! My 6-year old son has benefited so much from his karate instruction at Karate America. They have an incredible ability to hold the students to high expectations, but in a loving and understanding atmosphere. My son exhibits a greater sense of self-discipline, self-control, respect for authority, and overall confidence after being in this program since he turned 4. The instructors have become like parent-partners for us, reinforcing the values that we try to instill at home. Cant say enough great things about it!

My son has been doing karate at Karate America- Appleton for five years. The entire experience has been wonderful. It has not only impacted my son, but has impacted our entire family. The instructors not only teach karate, but they also teach life lessons that my son will carry with him for the rest of his life. Before joining Karate America, we looked at other karate academies and there is no comparison. Karate America has the best training facility and the best instructors. I also love the family feel. Had an amazing orientation last week! The instructor we met with was so patient and explained different karate moves to our boys. Couldnt of gone better! My boys are looking so forward to continuing to learn and grow at this great Karate studio.

Our family has been with the Karate America family for nearly 8 years now, and have had a fantastic experience throughout. Our oldest son is about 6 months away from achieving his 3rd degree black belt, and we’ve seen him grow from a little boy learning his first punch and front kick to a skilled practitioner of karate competing at tournaments around the state. We also have a 9 year old well on his way to a 1st degree black belt. The lessons for growth and development provided to their students apply not only to learning the art and technical elements of karate, but also weave in a strong foundation of values that build and reinforce what we teach at home. We’ve seen Karate America Appleton evolve over the years as well based on the needs of the students, which has renewed energy in the programs they offer…I encourage them to keep doing this. Further, Mr. and Mrs. Denu and their chief instructors take personal interest individually with their students. When your kids WANT to go to classes every week, you know something is working well all around!

Our first son started as a Little Ninja in the summer Park and Rec program. We came to Karate America from the YMCA preschool program. The rigor and focus of the lesson was noticeable. We knew we wanted to switch. Fast forward and that same little ninja is now a black belt. The training is for life, not just for martial arts. You cant beat the instructors who really care about the student and are there to reinforce positive life messages. I would recommend KA to anyone looking for a martial arts program for their child.

I have 2 children that attend Karate America. We love the values that are taught. Integrity,motivation honesty, ,leadership,self confidence,service, teamwork to name a few. As a grandmother, I have watched my two granddaughters at Karate America in Appleton. The instructors are awesome, giving group and individual attention, when necessary. The life lessons they teach are valuable and the students are encouraged to transfer them to everyday occurrences. LOVE this program.

Our family LOVES this program, it is like a home away from home. Over the last 4 years my daughter and son have grown so much! The skills that are taught go far beyond self defense, a healthy lifestyle and honesty...my kids are learning Self Discipline, Integrity, Excellence, and Respect. As parents, we have truly appreciated and valued the sense of community at Karate America – Appleton. Karate America Appleton is an amazing place, with instructors who are friendly and love to teach! My son has been at Karate America for 5 years and all of those have been a great experience. He is a black belt, working on his 2nd degree! The instructors are fantastic and very helpful in helping all the kids achieve their goals. I especially love the extras that are offered such as boot camps, test review camps, movie nights, and holiday parties! Worth the investment!

My 4 and 5 year old daughters just started and they love it! The instructors are amazing with young children, and the children learn strong core values and an understanding of being a good citizen. Wouldnt change anything!

I have been attending the adult classes on and off at Karate America since 2004. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what they do and truly care about you as a person and a student. The workouts are both physically and mentally challenging but very rewarding! I highly recommend Karate America at Northland Avenue to anyone who wants to challenge themselves to become the best that they can be.

My son came in with low self esteem, not making eye contact and we were worried he would get bullied. Six months after being at the Acadmey martial arts, he gained confidence, and now a year later makes eye contact. He loves the day camps and summer camps, he has allergies and the whole team accomdates his needs. The teachers are amazing and passionate. When I asked my son is it ok we stay home today and watch a movie and he says no i want to go to karate ... .you know its somthing good!!! I would highly recommend!

Karate America is an excellent martial arts school. The teachers are top notch that go above and beyond for all of their students and are wonderful role models. My children have learned self-respect, goal setting and build character with every class.

I attended Karate America throughout my years growing up and it played a huge role in making me the person I am today. Through karate I learned many life lessons about respect, integrity, and leadership. As a kid of course I didnt think to deeply about these lessons but now as a college student just entering into leadership roles I find myself reflecting a lot on these lessons. As well as learning lessons on how to act I gained a great amount of confidence in myself. All that aside Karate is blast for any kid or adult! It is a great work out for adults and a safe and fun place for kids to learn and get fit. The atmosphere is great and the instructors are amazing! I highly recommend Karate America to all ages!!
