I was referred to Above and Beyond Nannies by a good friend about 4 years ago. I needed a summer nanny for my 2 children. I have been very happy with the high quality nannies weve found through this nanny service. The owner, Erin, sent me resumes of potential candidates and I went through them and chose the ones I wanted to interview in person. Knowing that the girls had been thoroughly interviewed and background checked already by Above and Beyond Nannies gave me a lot of confidence in hiring someone who would be caring for my children. And, if my nanny needed a sick day or a vacation day, Above and Beyond Nannies would find a sub for me. We had a very unfortunate experience with this company about a year ago. The owner came and spoke with us and promised it would be very easy to find us a part-time nanny. We paid the application fee and had zero follow-up from her or anyone from the company. We have repeatedly asked for our money back, and we still have not received it.

While I was in law school, I contracted through A&BN as a temporary, overnight nanny. Temporary nannying was a nice way to make extra money, and I enjoyed the experience. Now, almost ten years later, Im an attorney and a mother of an infant. Erin at A&BN has helped me find great, short-term care for quick assignments. I recommend A&BN for any family child care needs, whether part-time, full-time, babysitting, or temporary.

I completely agree with other reviews about lack of communication through this agency. I too had an interview, was promised great things, then received absolutely no response when I reached out to them about various jobs. I am seriously disappointed in the time I wasted interviewing here. I recommend Loving Care Home services out of Lake Elmo! I shared with them my experience with Above & Beyond, and they immediately went above and beyond (ironically!) to get me in with them and helped to find good work! I recommend not going through this company! Highly unorganized and poor communication.I had an interview with them back in October 2016! They told me they would match me with a family between 3 days to a month. I did what they told me to do by checking in everyday! I would email them with the jobs I was interested in and never got a reply!This past Friday I did a temp job for them but they didn’t inform me that I wouldn’t get paid that night! This agency needs to be shut down! There all talk!

I used Above & Beyond Nannies to find our nanny for our first son. It was the first time I had a child, the first time I had to find childcare and for sure the first time I had to navigate the world of nannies. It was all new to me, but Erin helped me along the way. I was really impressed by the nannies we had as candidates and the guidance we received. We found our nanny and she was with our family for a year and a half. My only complaint is that the nanny we found was so amazing that she honestly has set the bar at an insanely high level for any nannies that came after her. We would still be with our original nanny if a move for work hadnt moved us across the country.When we relocated we had to redo the nanny search. Given the experience with had with Above & Beyond we didnt dream of finding a nanny without an agency. We appreciated and valued the work of Above & Beyond at the placement of our first nanny, but after working with a second far more costly agency in a new market we were even more appreciative of the support we received from Above & Beyond.We are almost 5 years from the time of our first business with Above & Beyond, but I recently ran into a situation with our daycare arrangement and I needed advice. I reached out to Erin and within a day she responded to my email. She called and talked me through the situation and gave me some advice. It wasnt her placement, she wasnt likely to get new business from me given where we live, but she was still there for us with her thoughtful support.I have recommended Above & Beyond countless times to friends in the area. I cannot say enough about their service and support. When we look back on the first 5 years of parenthood, going with a nanny was one of the best decisions we made. Using a service to find our nannies was critical to making that a reality. Using Above & Beyond set us up for success.

At first my experience was good. They found a good nanny for us whom stayed for the entire 1 year period we were looking for. After one of the partners left, Elizabeth, the service has been terrible.The candidates presented to us dont have the right experience, maturity or responsibility. I had several candidates realizing the information they have received regarding distance and/or hours was not accurate.We have been without a nanny for 5 months and in that time period this agency has not been able to find a viable candidate. They have promised to send candidates, however I never receive them. They have cited internet problems with receiving emails for several weeks, although I have also left phone messages.My son has autism, so we need someone with experience handling kids in the spectrum, which I was told the agency would have many so I didnt need to worry. Well, here we are 5 months after and nothing.I would not recommend this agency to anyone, specially families with special needs children.

Terrible service! I applied and interviewed with them and they told me I was a great candidate to work for them, after a month of trying to get ahold of them with out them saying I would be called back. I finally actually got to speak with someone, when I did they then told me I wasnt the full package and did not have enough experience. Even though Ive had 5+ years working with children.Update: I was contacted via email since they saw my review, and they now let me know that I was not able to work with them because I had a driving without insurance on my driving record from a couple of years ago.although that is understandable, That still would have been nice if they would have openly discussed this with me instead of leaving me to guess why.

I took a risk and left my job to find a nanny position. I Tried Out Three Nanny agencys At The Same Time Along With A Few websites. Above and beyond was the only one to constantly set me up with interviews. They always checked in and made me feel confident in a time when I should have been worried. I found my position through them lovely family.

This was my first time trying a nanny agency and i was (still am) beyond disappointed! From my first interview (at Erins house) where she called me by the wrong name more than a few times and kept directing her son to do things throughout my entire interview. Highly unprofessional! I really wish I wouldve trusted my gut when I felt something was off about her and how she handled things. From the beginning, she said she was going to do things or send me info on things and never did. I have 9 years experience in childcare/nannying and I am very confident in my abilities. I now believe I wouldve had a better chance using other websites and agencys (Loving Care Home Services, Sittercity, Craigslist...to name a few). I have proof of many emails, texts, and even phone calls to Erin, over the MONTHS, and never getting a response from Erin. I would get mass emails though. Even the day after my initial interview with her, I got one asking if I was still interested in being a part of the agency. It was super confusing, because it hadnt even been 24hrs. There was just a huge disconnect on her part. Many times I emailed her a list of families I hoped shed send my profile to, but now I dont really know if I can believe she did. (*one family i met with said they had a lot of trouble with the agency as well and another said they had only just received my info from an ABN newly hired assistant, but when I asked Erin about it she claimed she had sent it months ago when I had asked her to in my initial interview.....who do I believe???) A lot of important info thats on the job board was not accurate or completely left out. The few familys I FINALLY got to meet with had certain special needs of which I had no experience in, or it was a part-time need and turns out the weekly schedule wouldnt be consistent. I asked to see my background check, out of curiosity. The response was really fishy to me. She really seemed like she didnt want to email it to me. Legally speaking, they are supposed to let me see it if I ask. Honestly, it made me think that she had not completed a the background check way back when I first interviews with her. I kept asking and finally she texted me a picture of a tiny portion of something......after she scoffed saying it was weird I was even curious to see it. After that response, I was pretty much done. Weeks later I got an email with my background check attached. Just added more confusion. Now Im left to think she passed me off with the texted picture, so there was time for her to actually send in for the information. Then I noticed the attached documents text (the wording) didnt match the one she texted me a photo of, but everything in the check was clear. I recently emailed saying how I couldnt handle it all anymore and for them to safely dispose of my sensitive information. Still no response from Erin herself. Not surprised. There is so much more to my experience that was off. Sadly, this negative review could go on for days. Im not saying dont try ABN, but if you get a bad gut feeling like I did, listen to it and save yourself months of struggle and find another path.

Dont waste your time or money on this company. We were initially hopeful, but have been extremely disappointed ever since our in-home consultation when they make you pay $150 - for what Im still not quite sure as it felt like very little service was being provided to aid us in our search. Applications were finally sent after numerous requests only to find that the candidates didnt meet our most basic requirements (i.e. allergic to dogs when the owner of the company had met our dog the week prior). After reiterating the same requirements for the second, third, and so on time, we finally received one candidate we felt was worth interviewing. We set up an interview and a second trial day and submitted a hiring proposal all in less than one weeks time. Then came the all too typical lack of response and run around from the company. After a week of back and forth and numerous closing meetings being cancelled all due to the owners request, we finally reached out to the candidate directly only to find our that she had accepted another position and had informed the owner 6 days prior. We are still waiting on deaf ears to hear from the owner who in our opinion completely wasted our time, money and has now put us in an even worse position than we were initially since we have turned down other options and lost countless weeks of time. Dont let the initial woo-ing fool you, theyll take your money, make you do most of the work and worst of all, you could end up like us with no nanny and loads of frustration.
