I called Henrys vacuum and sewing machines this morning to see if they had any refurbished or used vacuums for sale. My experience in talking with Chris went above and beyond customer service that I have not experienced in years. Chris listened to what I was looking for made great recommendations including walking me through what to order from a website because he didnt have the item I was looking for in stock. He also gave me several pieces of information that saved me additional money on top of the already sales price. You really dont get customer service like I received this morning in this day and age. Not only do I appreciate the customer service he educated me about products and also assisted in helping me do a comparison. I will definitely recommend Chris and Henrys vacuum and sewing to all of my friends and again great job and I really appreciate you Chris thank you so much for all your help!!!!

Dropped vacuum off for diagnostics on 4/30, paying $40 to do so. Was told Id be called in less than two weeks. No callbacks and have left five voice mails, all of which have been unreturned. Stopped by store on Fri, 5/28 to get it only to find the store closed and the parking lot torn up for some sort of reconstruction or repaving. For as greatly satisfied as I was for the work they did on our sewing machine I am equally dissatisfied with the lack of communication this time. Hoping its not due to some unforeseen tragedy or circumstance but regardless, not hearing anything for a month is disappointing.

Hi! My grandmothers and I sent our vacuum here to be fixed, before July. He said that he was going away for the Fourth of July weekend and that he should be back shortly after. We live very far as we showed up after he said he would be back (so he should have been back) and someone in the store said he was not yet back. We went back a month later and our vacuum was ready, The store lights were on and the sign said open. I saw my vacuum BY the door. and the doors were locked?? I called and there was no answer. 07/23/21 - update. Chris finally followed up with me in July! He states that he had replaced the battery but the vacuum wouldnt work after a minute. I took the Dyson back home and my husband purchased a replacement battery and the vacuum works perfectly. Chris obviously did not make any attempts to replace the battery. The screws did not even appear to have been touched so how would he have done what he said he done to check it. Paid $40 for nothing. Chris didnt even give me an answer of why he didnt return my 10 voice messages. #poorservice #ripoffDropped my Dyson vacuum for repair on 4/30/21 and never heard back from the shop again. The door is always locked. I’ve left over 10 messages with no return call. There are many stickers on the front door that say he’s a member of the AJ chamber of commerce. When I called them they said the store was not a member!

Went to shop 2 days ago (Thursday), found note on door that they were out but would be back Friday. Went back on Friday, note still on door 1 hour after scheduled opening time. Called both listed phone numbers on Saturday, no answer. Left messages, no response. Email queries returned as undeliverable. Two sewing machines and a vacuum cleaner to be repaired, but will take business elsewhere after this. Not trustworthy.

Seeing other reviews with experience similar to mine. I think this place may be going out of business to be honest. I stopped by a couple of times in mid February but no one was there except one time some pretty mad customers who said the place wad closed more than it was open and that when they could speak to the owner he was rude. I decided to try agsin yesterday because I didnt want to drive too far but closed again. If you were planning on using this place Id probably reconsiderr.

I dont write alot of reviews but this is one honest business and they deserve the recognition! I brought in a vacuum making a loud noise, the gentleman was quick to greet me and diagnosed the issue on the spot! 100$ fix but instead of taking my money he referred me to the warranty department for my vacuum. The warranty company is sending me the part for free including s&h. Thanks for being honest and not taking advantage of the situation. My mom will be so happy to get her vacuum back! Thank you

I took my sewing machine in for a cleaning and adjustments. He was very nice and personable. Was able to give me same day service, which I did not expect, but was very happy about. My machine works great. I would highly recommend this place and I will go there again when needed. 5 stars!!

Rude. Stated Singer Machine 301 my mother bought in 1951 was a fake. Shop smelled like a cigarette factory. All this and he charged $60 for the visit and did no repairs. Would not recommend going there.

Do not trust this business. My sister took an upright vacuum in for repair in late 2020. She paid Chris $20 deposit to clear a blocked suction hose. Despite numerous visits and telephone calls since that date, finding the store closed and not answering the phone during advertised “open” hours, we have been unable to retrieve the vacuum. Our suspicion now is that Chris sold our vacuum to another customer under the ruse that it had not been picked-up by the owner.

Really impressed. Just as I called, another customer came in. Chris asked if he could call me back, which he did less than 10 mins. later. I explained my problem (looking for a difficult to find part for my sewing machine). They didnt have the part (the machine is pre-1973). So Chris found the part online and sent me the information. This is the kind of service I look for. I will be back and certain will tell everyone I know about it. They appreciate great service too.

Christopher was having a bit of a rough day but in the end he gave me some good advice on how to repair my Rainbow vacuum myself and save some money. Thanks I like saving money.

I talked to Chris about an issue with my Oreck vacuum cleaner. He was knowledgeable, patient and kind. He asked lots of questions and spent a lot of time on the phone with me. I highly recommend Chris for any vacuum cleaner needs.

All I needed was a longer screw to attach a walking foot to my sewing machine. Instead of asking me to leave the machine for service, Chris took a look at what I had and magically found what I needed in his vast inventory of miscellaneous parts. Minutes later I was good to go. Thanks, Chris!

Really nice and helpful! We had a vintage machine we werent sure was worth saving or not and helped us save a lot of money by giving us their honest professional opinion. Weve gone in there before for vacuum repair too and service has always been great! Definately would recommend as first choice for sew and vac repairs!

Took my sewing machine into the shop and owner came out to my car to help carry it in. Very nice, knowledgeable and great customer service as he looked at my machine on the spot. He spotted the problem right away and proceeded to fix it. A relatively easy fix for him that was a major frustration for me. Called to see if it had a certain commen part . he told me he would not sell the part because i didnt know the name of the part and didnt know what i was doing i try to explain to him im a DIY hes trying to send me to some kind of website to get the part. I called to ask about my sewing machien. The gentleman who answered had a very bad attitude and was very rude to me. I will be taking my business eslewhere because I dont want to deal with someone like that. Im not sure how he stays in business if he talks to his customers that way. If I could give 0 starts I would but Im sure there are other places that think more of there customers than this one does.

Did a great job refurbishing my old Dyson. I am disabled, they brought vacuum out to my car and took my payment without me having to leave my vehicle. Fantastic customer service.

I was having trouble with my old Electrolux and took it in to another vacuum store. The guy at that store tried to charge me $50 just to look at it, then charge me for parts and labor. Instead I took it to Henrys Vacuum & Sewing and Chris, the owner, fixed it within 5 minutes at no charge. All it needed was a simple switch reset. Chris is super friendly, very knowledgeable, honest, and fair on pricing. If I ever have vacuum issues again or am in the market for a new one, Im going to Chris first!

Finally a place to take my sewing machines for maintenance and repair! I was treated with friendliness, courtesy and honesty. My 3 sewing machines were treated with tender loving care and now run better than they did when new. This is the only place I trust with my machines!

Henry is very knowledgeable about vacuums. Hes been doing this business for over 50 years. He has serviced my Kirby and Simplicity machines and they run like new. He is a friendly type and happy to give advice on vacuums and sewing machines. The shop has a large selection of belts, bags, and just about anything I have ever needed. There is also a good selection of new and used machines. You can test them out in the shop. You cant do this at Walmart.

Chris was very friendly and informative. He serviced my vacuum and now it runs just as it did when I bought it. He threw in a new vacuum bag as well. I highly recommend this place.

I had my sewing machine repaired here in the past. When I picked it up the case was not properly replaced, but the machine worked minus the button hole maker (worked before) so I ignored those things. Today I returned to have the machine looked at since it recently began the same things again. I had already removed the outer casing in an attempt to oil the machine and there was no other way to do so. I had been told previously by the owner of the shop to oil the machine. When I took in the machine, he (owner) looked at it and said its not worth my while to look at, its in pieces. I informed him only the outer casing was removed in an attempt to oil it, to which he replied there is other ways to oil it if you know what youre doing. I asked him to show me how, to which he replied,he was not in the instruction business. I asked him if he wanted the business or not, to which he replied, that it wasnt worth his time. All this while there is ANOTHER customer in the shop picking up a repaired vacuum. For a small business owner he is the rudest individual and obviously does not need much business to stay open. I have a Kirby vacuum and purchased bags and belts from him . I will no longer! I will travel to Mesa for them now. We need a good sewing machine repairman in Apache Junction. Anyone know of one??????

I took my old vacuum in for repair for discovered that I could buy a good quality used vacuum for less than it would cost to fix the old one. I was very happy with the selection of new and used vacuums as well as accessories and parts. I highly recommend this local business.

$98.95 later I have my sewing machine.... one hour of watching this new owner open up the machine, oil it, pull out 3 small threads and put cover back on.... all while this shop owner talked to and serviced other customers (so not even a true hours attention to my machine). I could have bought a new machine for as much.$40 to look at it, no estimate of repair (a simple oiling), and a muttered $80, no, thats $98.95.Outrageous cost when all reviews of the shop implied this was a reasonable, excellent place to go for repairs. The reviews must have reflected the former owner.I feel I was suckered into a costly, however simple, repair.

I left my sewing machine there for cleaning and repair and picked it up a couple days later, exactly when Chris said it would be ready. When we tested it out in the shop it ran fine but the next day a totally unrelated problem occurred.I am Deaf and sometimes difficult to communicate with but Chris patiently emailed with me just as if we were on the phone.He ended up coming out to my house, on a Sunday no less, and did the repair for next to nothing. Later I Googled it and found out the part alone costs $35.This was excellent customer service and I will be taking my machines to him as long as hes in business. Really great experience with this shop.

I was having errors on my sewing machine. I wrote to see what a repair would cost, and they gave me hints in an email that fixed the problem. How often can you find an honest repairman that is more concerned about your problem being fixed, then having you come in to pay them to fix it.
