Mainly dealt with Tim with input from another employee who I believed to be was the mechanic who assessed the necessary repairs to be done.Both were more than fair in the assessment in my opinion, found items that I questioned and unfortunately it appears that Ive been taken advantage of in the recent past. Although upset about that part, very grateful for their honesty. Wish I would have found this place prior to spending money elsewhere first. My motto has always been, dont lie to me, I may not like what youve told me, but Ill get over it.This company could not have been more honest (hence the name Im guessing) and an exemplary example of the kind of service that I look forward to doing business with.

I have been going to Honest 1 in Anoka for the past 5 years. I like how the work done on my Dodge Journey is warranted. I brought my Ford F150 in to have an oil change. Somehow the guy that changes oil unplugged my engine block heater. It dragged for miles unknown to me. Someone at a drive-in movie told me about it. When I brought it back for them to fix it they did fix it.They sure think that my time is free when I sat there for an hour while they had to figure out how to reroute the wire harness. They didnt care to make it right, with me.But this is the 2nd time they made a mistake with oil changes. The other time they spilled oil all over my wifes engine. I will not be going back to have them change my oil.

Honest 1 in general is just over priced. Not the shops fault, but the companys.The services I needed took well over an hour when most other shops Ive gone to have gotten the same exact work done in about half that time. The lube tech did seem pretty young so I will give him that, maybe he is new to all of this and needs a little extra time which I can completely understand.What I dont understand is the lack of mask wearing. The service writer is the ONLY employee I saw wearing a mask however he would only have it on when I was standing at the counter, the moment I went to sit down in the waiting area his mask came off. For this reason I will likely not return and find a different auto shop that will hopefully comply better with State mandates.

I had brought my car in thinking the worst outcome. As a single female bringing your car to a shop thinking they are going to screw me somehow is what was on my mind. With just a simple fix that cost this single mother $27.00 I was very thankful and I would go back Forsure. Thank you Thank you !

They tried to charge my Mother almost $4000 to get her exhaust and a bunch of sensors replaced. She decided to get a second opinion and the guys at the other shop basically told her it was highway robbery and all that was wrong was part of the exhaust came free from a hook and fixed it for her for free. It took two minutes and fixed all the problems that she had been having.I wish I had known that this shop liked scamming elderly widows before I had my vehicle towed there to get my brakes fixed. It took them a whole week to complete the work they did on it and I asked a couple times about a rental car and was told they would call me if one became available, which never happened.Here is the list of things they did for a caliper breaking due to letting the brakes wear down too far:- Oil change- Brake pads and rotors (front)- Brake calipers (front)- Brake flex hoses- Brake fluid flush exchange- Steering tie rods- Front end allignment- Thermostat replacement- Water pump replacement- Transmission fluid and filterGrand total: ~$3750I cant say if I got ripped off or not but now I wonder how much of this stuff and the other ~$4000 worth of work they want to do to my vehicle was done because they didnt want to tighten a hose clamp. They are gleefully willing to replace the entirety of an exhaust system instead of re-attaching it to the hook it came off.At least my brakes work now.

This provider does not do business based upon their name...Honest 1. I had an appointment for 1pm to add fluid in my transmission. Dropped my car at 12:15pm. By 2:30 pm no call or services provided. By 2:45 pm, I received a call that my work will not be done until the next day. But they have given a quote for $140.00 out of the door.Kept my car over night and the next day, they called and said that it will cost $245.00 to tap oil in my transmission. I was disappointed, havent charged me 140.00, kept my car over night and then comes back with different price just to tap my oil when the dealer charges 159.00.I had to tow my car to another shop that did the same job for 160.00.Bad business at Honest 1!

I had a mini roadside emergency and just happened to pull off the road by this shop. They immediately pulled my car into the garage and fixed the problem. Then when I tried to pay, they said they were just happy to help! They just gained a new customer!! Good to know local places like this still exist!!

Brought my truck in to have a check engine light diagnosed. My oil pressure gauge was reading zero. My appointment was at 8:30AM. I had to call at 12:15PM since I had not heard anything. The quote to make the repair was $150-$200 more than 2 other shops I called. I was told on the phone one of the recommended repairs was 10/10 unsafe. When I got to the shop to get a better explanation of why it was needed and how it was determined, I was told it was 8/10 unsafe and no information into how it was determined was given. Will not be going back.

This was my first experience with Honest-1. Mark was very professional and courteous. I only went in for an oil change but was very pleasantly surprised that the team assessed other areas of my vehicle, rated them, and sent me explanations and pictures regarding the inspection of my vehicle -- what passed, what would soon need to be worked on, and what had failed. I brought my daughters car in for an oil change in March and by mid-April she was stranded with a dead engine that was bone dry in the crank case. Will never bring another car to Honest-1.

I just compared Honest 1s labor costs with a Lexus dealership for replacing spark plugs and found out Honest 1 charged significantly higher for labor. One service I had there, I was charged 5x the actual market price of a part. Another time they incorrectly diagnosed my car, several days and over 3 hundred of dollars later, found out it was simply a $50 repair. I dont know if it was incompetence or I was completely taken advantage of. Really disappointed and looking back, Im embarrassed how many times I walked out of that place looking like a fool. I rarely write poor reviews, but after several services performed there I 100% do not recommend this location. Reading other reviews on here and on Nextdoor, seems like my experience is not uncommon.

I can not say enough good things about my experience at Honest-1. They were professional, quick, thorough, and extremely trustworthy. They quickly worked to figure out what was wrong with my car, and kept me updated every step of the way. I never felt like they were taking advantage of me or like they were just trying to make a buck. They did a phenomenal job with my car and they are definitely my new go to for any auto care needs I have.

Overall good customer service, very knowledgeable, brought my car in for break pads, and rotor replacement. Had no idea how bad the bracketed calibers were getting, they found the rear calibers were locked up, and needed to be replaced. If we brought our car into anywhere else, it would have cost us just under a grand to fix. Also they were willing to let us buy our parts from ORileys and just charge us the labor, we were able to save almost 500 dollars because of them, a job well done.

Honest 1 auto provided invaluable insight with a used car inspection I had in the Ramsy/Anoka area. They got me scheduled in a slot that worked great for me and provide a detailed analysis on my used car. The information with pictures they provided helped me negotiate the price of the car and got the dealer to repair the obvious issues with alignment and door clearances. Josh and Mark took the time to show me the issues personally on the vehicle and helped me understand the impact of each.

Ive been coming here for years. I moved into the city, and now I drive 30 miles each way to get to this place. Worth it.They always fix whats wrong on the first try, and they dont talk down to you if youre automotive challenged like me.

Awesome shop! The warranty bests all the dealers I have been too, the rates are very competitive, and Tim has been excellent at helping me during my rather too frequent visits for rebuilding my truck. Will always go there and recommend to friends and family!

I was disappointed by the price I was quoted $1000 to replace a power steering pump that independent auto care just down the hwy is charging me $430 to do. Then honest 1 tells me I need all 4 of my ball joints replaced. I had that rechecked and found out they are all in great condition and no need at all to be replaced. And I paid honest 1 $45 to do all this for me. Thanks a lot honest 1!

The employees are nice and thats about the only good thing about this place. I had them replace my alternator a couple weeks back and ever since then my car has been messing up with power failures. They didnt even put the alternator in completely I had to screw a bolt In that they couldnt finish. When I go to a car place I expect them to you know fix the problem not make things worse and not even do it fully. I will never be coming here again. I dont need anymore vehicles messed up

Honest-1?? Maybe not so honestI went to “Honest-1” because of a vibrating noise my car was making. They told me that it was a bad power steering pump and gave me an estimate of $700 to repair it. I thought that was kind of high so I checked around. Another shop gave me an estimate of $385, which is $315 less!!. When I told “Honest1” to cancel the appointment I had made with them because I found a much better price, they said that they would match that price.I do appreciate them matching the price, but why did they give me such a high estimate in the first place? Was it based on actual parts and labor costs or on how much can we get out of him. I let them do the job, but needless to say I will never go back there because I will never be able to trust that their estimate would be an “honest one”.Additionally, they later said that I also needed a power steering pulley which was another $125. I asked them when I first brought the car in if perhaps it was the pulley making the noise and not the pump, but they assured me that it was the pump. After replacing the pump they said that they both were bad and that the bad pulley messed up the pump. I asked to see the pump, but they said that they already sent it back (in exchange). Okay, maybe that was all true, but after that crazy initial price thing, I was just suspicious of their honesty and it made me wonder if they were telling me the truth.

It was nice talking to them on the phone about my car issues. They were friendly and knowledgeable. I liked getting a report about what they found after I brought my car in. The waiting area is clean and welcoming. They also have a bathroom available. They charged for testing, but thats understandable. Not knowing much about cars, it was nice of them to not push me into doing anything I wasnt sure about.

I only had an oil change done but the guy at the front desk was really nice. He didnt try and sell me things I didnt need. That says a lot.

Took my 2013 f350 diesel there for service as ford dealership was booked out over a month. Had a check engine light they diagnose quickly and also coolant service as the computer was throwing a check coolant additives warning. They were able to add nitrate to the coolant and get the b!tch lights gone.

Here is how honest works: you walk in and ask how much it would cost you to mount and balance 4 tires, they say $100 so you leave your stuff there and when you come to pick it up they hand you a bill for $140 saying that $100 is just a flat fee but it doesnt include shop supplies and other fees. I didnt ask what your flat fee was , I asked how much it was going to cost me, meaning how much money would I have to pay for the service, I didnt think that it was that complicated of a question and expected an honest answer.

The tech is very knowledgeable and skilled. Never had bad experience with them. A very honest shop with honest pricing. Recommended!

Went there to get a diagnostic test on my car and why was reading low oil pressure told me I needed a new engine and estimate was 10 grand, bring it to slims in Anoka to get a second estimate and just needed a oil change my screen in my Chevy 1500 was dirty and was giving computer the reading of low oil pressure, he couldn’t believe honest 1 wouldn’t tell me this or know this because my truck is notorious for it, don’t bring it there will tell you other things are wrong or be over dramatic about what is wrong to get more cash out of ya

Ive been bringing my 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix supercharged GT to Honest 1 since the first shop opened in Blaine. After I tell them my reason for coming in, they do a thorough check of my car. At the Anoka shop, Tim and his crew do an Honest job finding the problem and fixing it so I feel safe leaving knowing my car was repaired properly. As an owner of an older used car you need to expect unexpected problems. I have a list of needed repairs. We will take care of the list in order of importance and to keep me and my car on the road as long as I can. A big thank you to all of them!

Wonderful service. Brought my 02 Buick in because I had no heat. They found a number of issues an did their best to make repairs as cost efficient as possible.

I was very happy with my experience. They drove me to my house and picked me up when the repair was done the next morning. I will use Honest - 1 in the future because of their customer service.

Overcharged and unnecessarily upsold parts. Wouldnt tell me the brand of parts being used so I could look up to see that they were overcharging me, I had no choice but to go there from st. Cloud because the tow truck that AAA hired wouldnt change the destination so I was literally forced to pay about 600 dollars more than I needed to for breaks. Ridiculous. Con-men. Honestly crooks!Also found out after the fact that the only thing they actually did for the almost 900 dollars they charged me, was to go in and loosen a bunch of bolts and purposely make my car more dangerous. I still regret NOT suing them. Sexist and unethical crooks.

I had a great experience with this shop. My husband has always worked on our cars but when he was injured and could no longer do so a friend recommended honest 1 to me. I received outstanding care and the work was done in a timely manner. Steve was wonderful at explaining what needed to be done that day as well as the things I would needed done in the future. He understood I was on a budget and wasnt pushy about me having work done that could wait. Not only would I go back for my future car needs I will also be recommending all my friends go there as well.

Called up and got a quote on fixing my clutch master cylinder, they gave me a quote and said they still needed to make sure that was the issue. They checked it out, it was the issue, repaired it VERY FAST & PROFESSIONALLY. I wouldnt go anywhere else, very fast in and out, VERY REASONABLY PRICED !! THANKS YOU GUYS!

I can honestly say that I have never been more confident in my choice of auto mechanics! Im someone who DREADS taking my car in for regular maintenance or repair services after having many encounters with manipulative, aggressive, and greedy managers at other automotive repair centers who have profited from my lack of mechanical knowledge and every mothers fears of having their car malfunction with their children in the car. Each and every time I have taken my vehicle to Honest 1-Auto Care in Anoka, I have been very pleased with their kind & respectful attitude with customers, the quality of their work, timeliness, frequent and thoughtful updates as to the status of the work being done, clear explanations, and honest estimates as to what the repair would cost and how long the repair could be postponed - Ive never felt pressured to have any work performed and the aging car continues to run fine!!

There I was, driving up highway 10 when my manual transmission feels like its shifting itself. RPMS wildly jumping up and down like an Olympic gymnast . Uh Oh! I thought, remembering 2 weeks ago when I had the oil changed and a free alignment check. Tim had told me the clutch was going out and that it was time to replace it before I was stranded on the side of the road. As the smell of burning clutch filled the air I realized, He was right. I managed to get to the shop and pull into the lot. I asked him to take her for a spin. He hops in, drives it into a parking spot and comes back in. Somehow still unaware of this mans legendary diagnostic abilities I asked, Arent you going to test drive it?No. Tim Said. Its the clutch, if I take it out of the lot well have to tow it back. Tim gives me a quote, a free loaner car, a timeline for the completion of the work and I continue on my way, blissfully unaware how close I came to riding shotgun with a tow truck driver. Later, right when he said he would, I get a call from Tim letting me know the car was ready. He was dead on when it came to everything. The price was right, it was completed on time, and as for the severity of the issue...... The clutch EXPLODED in the parking lot and they had to push it into the shop.Maybe Tim has a crystal ball in his tool box, or maybe hes just an honest man whos really friggin good at his job. Either way, unless you really enjoy unpleasant surprises and riding in tow trucks, you should bring your vehicle here.

Went in for a few repairs and worked with a young guy named Chis. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend the shop and Chris anytime. Thank you for taking such good care of me and my car. :)

This place was probably the 9th or 10th place I called to see if they had any availability to diagnose my engine light, and I wish it had been my first. The problem ended up being super simple, and they didnt end up charging me too much more than the price of the diagnostics to fix it, which was a pleasant surprise. The gentleman at the counter wad also incredibly friendly.

The staff is very helpful and friendly. Steve is very knowledgeable and I know he will only recommend what really needs to get done and what can wait. I trust him with my vehicle and I plan to continue to go to Honest One for all my Car Care needs. I tell all my friends to go here also!

The folks at Honest 1 are always courteous. I participate in their multiple oil change program which gives me an extra discount on the full synthetic oil changes. Their location is very convenient on the west end of Anoka.

Approximately a year ago, I posted about how Honest One fixed a steering issue with my Toyota Tundra and did a great job. Since then I have had nothing but problems with this place. Today, 1/26/2016, I dropped my truck off at 130 for an oil change. I told them I would be back around 5pm, which gave them 4 hours to complete a simple oil change. When I arrived back to the shop at 6pm, the oil had not been changed, but they told me that my truck would be the next vehicle up. I told them I did not have time and nor did I want to wait which is why I dropped the truck off. They gave me my key back and offered no apology. Unfortunately, this is the second time I dropped my truck off and they did not complete the job. I guess its a crap shoot if you get good service or not, but I will not be returning.
