Having a Realtor like Ms. Janet McAllister - Reinhart Real Estate (now under a different management) was my worst nightmare when I moved to Ann Arbor from Boston. We had to sue her and her company in Ann Arbor Courts (see PUBLIC RECORDs for details) to get our Earnest Money Deposit money back and had to fire her from further purchases EVER!Facts - We were quickly signed into a full one-year contract, with a convenient provision for the Agent to be able to act as a Dual Agent when possible. We deposited earnest money - EMD- on one property and then found a better one. Instead of getting back the original EMD on our behalf, she and HER BOSS advised us to file a lawsuit against the Seller. Janet McAllister or the Company could not be contacted thereafter. They sent us the paperwork for Michigan Small Claims Court, and basically said goodbye. Our emails to the company higher-ups went ignored. We had to PAY a lawyer ourselves to get OUR EMD money back, ~ONE YEAR LATER. There was no formal apology from the Realtor or the Company - except settling the case.
