We now find ourselves requesting our lending institutions to close our portion of each purchase or refinance at Liberty title of Ann Arbor or Chelsea. Good work overall. Transparent, helpful and knowledgable, however, we hit a snag when funds didnt come through on time. My closing stumbled over into the next month. It would have been helpful if Liberty Title would have suggested stopping the auto-pay ACH on the 1st. Now my payoff and escrow are over the figures at closing a week ago. Not their fault, but catch this detail for the next customer.

By far the best title company around. Everyone is so knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions you have. The Packard location is so convenient and easy to get to and closing in a vault can be entertaining. I really appreciate Libertys professionalism and proficiency. Liberty has helped me navigate some incredibly tough transactions like death in the family, estate, divorce, short sale and etc. Liberty has fixed issues that other title companies told me where not possible. Working with Landon Woods at Liberty Title was an absolute pleasure. I never would have guessed that trying to give a mortgage company a $200,000 check would be a problem--but getting the payoff to my mortgage was not easy. Landon called them everyday trying to get the information for me. He let me know everything that was going on and worked with me to get the issue straightened out. In the middle of my misery we could even laugh about the craziness. Everything else with the closing was uneventful and very professional. I appreciate all that they did and how easy they made everything for us and the buyers of my home.

An error was made at my closing where the seller was responsible for unpaid taxes. When I brought it to the attention of my closer, I was told they were my responsibility even though I had prorated most of the amount back to the seller at closing.Promises of follow up on behalf of multiple staff members at the company delayed the resolution. After two weeks, Liberty Title paid the taxes.Based on the error I brought to their attention, the stress at being told I had to pay them and the lack of repeated follow up, I requested a refund of all or part of the $525 closing fee. That did not happen. After one final attempt to reach upper management for some explanation of the experience, I received no reply to my email.In the end, I feel a level of accuracy is lacking along with poor customer service at this company. I would not recommend them nor would I choose to do business with them again in the future.
