If you contact them through email they are very quick to get back to you regarding any questions or concerns. Very friendly and helpful. Nice equipment. They service one of the nicest stretches of the Huron River.
My sons 14U baseball team played in a tournament July 8-11 and I was looking for a team activity. Skips was my second inquiry and they were great to communicate with the entire process. In total we had 47 tubers and we had a great time relaxing as we floated down the river. The entire staff from the young lady who handled our check-in process to the young men who drove the bus and van. We all had a blast and everyone at Skips was polite, relaxed and accomodating to our requests.

I planned the trip for a couple friends on a very hot day! We got an early reservation for 1030am. There was a little walk from the parking lot to the check in and I happen to have the only cooler without wheels so that sucked on the way in (but it was empty on the way back so it was fine) but that was my mistake. Check in was super easy. The shuttle was prompt. They drop you off with the tubes, ropes to connect, and paddles. Everything was super fun! We did wish it was A LOT longer. If you dont stop at one of the little shores (which you really have to be on the look out for otherwise you miss them) it only lasts about an hour and 15 minutes... There was almost no wind so we got lucky we stopped 2x for about 30 minutes each and that made the trip (from launching into the water, to getting back to the exit point) about 3.5 hours. We are already planning our next trip and might even try the longer canoeing trip. It was a lot of fun!
Best place to spend a warm 3 hour+ afternoon. The tubs are cleaned and sanitized after each use. We had 8 people with 8 tubes that we tried together and had a wonderful family experience. Just remember to spend the 30 minutes signing all the safety waivers online before you leave home.
Beautiful trip down the Huron River. You can stop by the Dexter Cider Mill - cinnamon sugar donuts and cinnamon cider slushy is fantastic. Kayaks were well maintained and only a few more dollars for the premium kayaks

Had a fun and relaxing day couple of hours on the water! Ive been kayaking several times, and this was by far the best time. Friendly staff, self-explanatory directions, and a nice distance trip that gives plenty of time to still relax on the water.
Everything was exactly as promised. They were super friendly and able to answer any and all questions. All of the equipment was clean and well maintained. They were also doing an excellent job balancing all of the requirements and challenges that COVID present. We are hands down planning on going back.

Staff is professional, friendly and very helpful. This is the best place to visit the river. Love all the changes except for having to park across the road and carry belongings. This is the best section of the river and every trip seems like a new river.

We have done the Hudson Mills trip and it was amazing: relaxing, beautiful, and not crowded. On another occasion, the weather was predicted to be bad, so the staff called me and offered a refund or rain check. I highly recommend this river trip!
Process has gotten quick and easy with online waivers. Then the river is always fun. Bring water shoes though!

Next time we will take off from Hudson Mills for a long paddle.
Been going to Skips for years. However, today wasnt their best. Last I looked covid was still a thing. But, they packed the bus to the point where people had to stand and waited like 15 minutes in that packed bus before we left. Guess I expected a little more cautious behavior. But then again, only our group of 8 wore masks on the bus. Merica!!!!
Ive been going here for decades, Skips rents, canoes, kayaks and tubes for tubing. Whats nice is the Huron River northwest of Ann Arbor is clearer and it gives you an opportunity to see and appreciate the river wildlife, the many fish, turtles and other water life.
Had a great time tubing. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing thing to do for the afternoon.

The staff at the place is very helpful. We decided to do the 8 miles kayaking. What we didnt know was that it takes so much time because of the slow river. People whove done it before know they need to get food and beer and stop on the way and enjoy themselves. You can spend the entire day there. But we didnt get anything and so couldnt enjoy the stretch as much :( it was just too much work of about 3.5 hrs if you cannot stop and enjoy so a bad experience for us.

The long trip down the Huron River is one of the most beautiful trips, ever!!! I commend their disenfecting process during COVID! It was very comforting to see the staff grab our kayak & paddle immediately upon our return to the livery and sanitize them. Then, as we were taking off our life jacket, there was a lady waiting right there to take that. Ive gone with Skips before to kayak and will again. I think they have different/better kayaks this year, from what I remember last year.Theyre MUCH nicer! Wonderful trip & awesome service!!!
We took an end of summer canoe trip down the Huron River with 3 other families, and we all had an awesome time! We stopped at the Dexter Cider Mill along the way to load up on donuts and cider (good water shoes recommended to help with walking over rocks to pull canoes ashore, and then climbing the short, but steep, river bank up to the mill.) The staff at Skips were all helpful, energetic and very nice. The canoes were clean and the floatation devices were in good condition, and they had tons of them. They also had a nice selection of kayaks. We all highly recommend this livery!

Quick and easy. Great prices too. Well maintained equipment. As a customer I saw nothing but a well-oiled machine. The employees clearly like working together there. They have clear signage. Great parking. Bus ride to the drop off point was as expected, very clean. The driver was courteous and and clear with directions once we made the access point.The only thing that wasnt great, was how fast they get you into your canoe or kayak and get you on your way. First time on a kayak and I was off and running in about 30 seconds.We will definitely be renting from them again.
My family had a great experience. They are very well ran, friendly and it was a great experience. The kayak trips are fun and not hard at all. The river has a nice flow and very easy to navigate. The equipment was in great condition. The process is so convenient. They bus you to your equipment and then you kayak/canoe/tube and get off where your car is parked.
Great experience! Skips staff was professional and friendly. They have a smooth process for customers and the staff was always willing to help. We rented a double kayak. It was available and ready for us once we arrived at the drop-off location. Once we returned, staff members checked our name off the list (keeping track of customers - which I thought was great safety procedures) and took care of our kayak for us. We had the best day on the river. Check in was SMOOTH with Skips. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The water was crystal clear and the scenery was beautiful. The river was not crowded at all. I will definitely be back again.
Weve been down the river with Skips twice so far this summer (pandemic 2020). Theyre easy, clean, and friendly. Everyone wears masks indoors and on the shuttle bus, which also is reduced to half capacity and well ventilated. The crew is there to help you in the water with nicely-maintained watercrafts, and ready to help you out at the end, then immediately disinfect the boats and gear upon returning. The 1.5 hour float is perfect for a newbie, and the 3.5 hour float is a great way to spend the day. Highly recommend!
Great trip! Wonderful experience! My 6 year old did awesome in the 2 person kayak. The 2 person kayak was very nice with a place to put my cooler backpack and there was still plenty of space. I would highly recommend!

My daughter and I had an awesome paddle on the Huron with Skip’s. Reservation was handled online and was very easy. Check-in was fast and efficient. All the staff, from check-in, transport, and those who put us on and took us off the river were very friendly and professional. We did the Hudson Mills to Delhi Metropark trip. The river was high and the current a little faster than normal but still a very easy paddle. We didn’t stop so the trip took a little over 2 hours. We saw a heron, geese, mallards and lots of turtles sunning themselves on logs and the banks. It was a peaceful trip and just what we needed. We rented premium single kayaks. They were very stable and the high backs on the seats made for a comfortable paddle. If your looking to paddle the Huron, I definitely recommend Skip’s.
Rented 2 single Kayaks $35 each. They also offer double kayaks and canoes. I recommend the longer trip! Bring some drinks! Will shuttle you to the start point and then you ride down stream to the end where you parked.

A cold front had moved in making the mid afternoon temperature a delightful 75 degrees. Partly cloudy skies provided a flowing tapestry that would delight the least imaginary soul to play and lose themselves for hours. Much needed rain had replenished the thirsty banks of the Huron River. Eager floaters had nestled into their vessels to enjoy the delight of the day. As we floated, the group seemed to dissipate as the river pulled its way towards the shores of Lake Erie.Parking our kayaks under the Central Street bridge we walked to the party store to restock some libations. Walking back to the designated post we were amazed to see that the kayaks had been moved. Did the river rise suddenly and sweep it down stream? In my desperate search I began to hear the squawking of a parrot. Following the cacophony revealed several people busily working their way down stream with the kayaks we rented. The gruff voice of a single leader sporting an eye patch barked out commands as another donning a peg leg and hook for a hand struggled to keep up with the unrealistic expectations.Pirates!Looking around for help I notice the Karate Kids (Part I and III Yes- both a boy and girl wearing THE bandana on the trip) were nowhere to be found. Was it that the pirates had taken them hostage? Impossible. It is the Karate Kid. At this point it was me and the pirates. I grabbed the closest vine and swung upon them. Looking to my left sweater man suddenly appeared on another vine ( I think his wife was upset). Descending on the pirates at an increasing rate of speed the pirates saw our fury and fled. We were able to reclaim our possessions!As we floated into the livery, the crew from Skip’s waved us in with a smile on their faces. We apologized for our delay and being late as they believed every word of our story.Skip’s is a great place. If I were a canoe livery, I would be this one. Thanks. We loved it!Note to reader: If you have been silently correcting my grammar throughout this piece you need to go on a kayak trip at Skip’s. This is a fantastic business with friendly, responsible personnel. Great cleaning procedures for boats and paddles, and everyone kept distance and work masks. Very affordable too! What a delightful kayaking journey.
I have been several times at Skips and always enjoyed the service and the Hudson to Delhi 3.5 hours trip. The staff are always nice accommodating. Was worried this year with COVID 19 but they sanitized canoes and life jackets prior being provided to us. Couple of our group was delayed and the staff was flexible in taking us in a separate van than the scheduled trip we were booked. Thank you!

My friend and I had purchased the 3.5 hour kayak trip, which is 8 miles. We brought water and sandwiches with us, knowing we booked a long trip. We overlooked something in the email (which has A LOT of information and maybe needs a bit of restructure) and were late for our original journey. The female employee who answered the phone was so sweet, professional and understanding and happily rebooked us for another day with no trouble. Yes, there are portapotties there but the employee suggested we go across the street to the other part of the park to use the restroom. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience, even though the water was shallow in parts (obviously no reflection on the business as they cant control that). Every employee we encountered was nice, professional, and helpful. The kayaks were clean and we watched employees sanitize them right upon return, masks are required on the bus and when picking up life jackets. I saw a review where someone complained about lack of social distancing in the parking lot, we stayed by our car until it was time to get on the bus, no one forces you to stay in the group.

We always have a great time going down this river! Nice and relaxing calm river. It is also very clean and you can see the bottom in most areas.
I booked a canoe trip for my little ones at Skips. It was the first experience with using Skips. It will not be the last. The kids had a wonderful time. Beautiful day trip people. For stiles as well as 👶 the kiddos lol. I think I’ll go myself next weekend. I recommend it highly
I just need to give a huge shout out to the guys that were working here on Sunday May 31st. Both my husband and my kayaks capsized at a huge tree that had fallen in the water, the water was so strong and running so fast we could barely move. These guys all stood at the ready to do anything they could to help. We finally made it to shore, they pulled us out helped get the water out. Had us relax for a few minutes and then helped us back into the water. Didnt get their names but cant thank them enough!!

I walked to Skips to see if I could get a ride to my truck & the young lady told me that they dont shuttle people unless you rent from them, but she was willing to try to help me get back to Hudson Mills. I was able to secure a ride within a few minutes so I didnt need her help, but she was very kind to a stranded old man.
We did the longer canoe trip. It was a really fabulous time. The scenery was great, it was very fun for all (6 adults, 7 kids ages 9-14). We did some paddling at times, but mostly just glided and the entire trip was about 3.25 hours. The staff at Skips was awesome and made for a very memorable day! Cant wait to do it again

This was our first time kayaking the Hudson River. Skip’s employees were helpful, and we loved the experience. It is a nice, relaxing trip down the river. No trees to dodge is a bonus!

We enjoyed the river and the staff at the livery. The port-a-potty was deplorable and should not be extended to guests!!! it seems as though staff tried to adhere to Covid-19 restrictions except having people wait for the next bus., CROWDED area with no social distancing was observed.

Our group had a fantastic day on the river thanks to Skips Livery! It was really easy to book online, and also easy to call and change the reservation (which we had to do twice, due to changing numbers). The folx at Skips answered all calls and emails promptly and made changes happily. The onsite service was friendly and directive (appreciative during COVID -- and, speaking of -- we appreciated watching them thoroughly clean and set the tubes to dry as they came off the river, so we knew we were getting them clean for our trip!) Everyone from the check-in people to the driver to the pull-in folx were friendly and helpful, and the trip itself was a joy! It was especially nice that they kept saying take your time on the river! We did and it was a blast that we didnt have to think about for one second. Thank you!
