I have been insured with State Farm for over twenty years in multiple different states. I have always had great service with State Farm, but upon moving to Michigan and choosing the Simkins office my experience with State Farm has been nothing less than exceptional. They are knowledgeable, professional and most importantly forward thinking. Particularly, it has been a delight to deal with Jessica in the office. She is extremely knowledgeable and is looking out for your best interests. I wish I could give the Simkins State Farm office more than five stars because they deserve it.

On average Joe takes about 5-7 days to respond to any emails. When responses are sent, they seem scripted and never respond to the issue at hand. I am constantly feeling as if Im having to fight with a turtle in order to do the simplest things with my policy. Would not recommend.

Joe and his team helped me with all the questions I had and identify the coverage that was best for me and my family, and even helped me set up my State Farm Visa card for my premiums. Thank you for the great service!

When I decided to switch to another insurance agency from this one, I received a check from State Farm that was difficult to cash (it had 2 names on it for the 2 people on the renters policy.) I tried to work with Joe Simkins to try and get my money back, but he was rude and condescending: treated me like a child! He even gas-lighted me, saying This is why we tell people not to put both members on there, but he NEVER told me that before I signed up, and 100% of our interactions before then were electronic, so I could check! There was another office member willing to help and very understanding, but it was definitely not Joe.The insurance I switched to was also half the cost of this place.

These are the worst agents on planet earth. I have been with them for 3 years. They are incredibly dishonest and do not communicate valuable information. I was so happy with State Farm in my former home, so I was really disappointed State Farm was so bad in Michigan.As I get older (Im in my thirties), Im becoming less of a risk and Ive had a perfect driving record for over 7 years. BUT my premiums increase dramatically every year. So I called asking about the how do I save money conversation. By the way, below is just one example of their incompetence and dishonesty. Eventually I agreed to their In-Drive device but they FAILED to tell me this device has a yearly fee. Seriously?! Dont you think that a program that COSTS money would be valuable information to tell your customers? After I got the device in the mail, I found out about this yearly fee on my own, and when I spoke to the agents about this lack of communication, they, again, only provided rudeness Well, were human and we make mistakes. I get that and I would forgive it but this is a systemic problem. Its not the first time crucial information got lost in the cracks.The only time you ever need your agent for is when something happens. Right?! so the only incident I ever had was when another driver hit my parked car outside the YMCA. Now do you think the agents handled this claim promptly? absolutely not. They were clueless and were not helpful at all. Talking to these agents brings on so much frustration-- I cant express their level of incompetence at a time when you need them most.Even mundane things like adding a driver to my policy-- literally took 18 months to accomplish after 3 phone requests and 1 written email.Not only are their agents dishonest & incompetent, they are extremely rude and curt. Instead of listening to you, they constantly argue insisting that they are right. I have never once been happy with their customer service and Ive been with them for over 3 years. STAY CLEAR of this place!!

If you look for people who care, this is the right agency. Always helpful. They have money saving suggestions (and they balance needs and costs). They have never let me down!

Despite that the agents here look friendly, one agent, Jessica, is rude and incompetent. i asked her some questions about the consequences of a coverage suspension on my next insurance bill. After talking for 10 minutes, She still couldnt explain why my bill is the way it is and got impatient. She hinted that rather than asking her, i should read the mails statefarm sent me or search on State Farms website. She was not competent and was not sorry for not understanding State Farms policy. I do not wish to overgeneralize, but dont work with her if you want a competent agent. Other state farm branches and online insurance companies are worth considering.

Jessica Carlson has been a pleasure to work with. She takes her time to explain the process and available options. She has a no pressure policy which is why I recommend her to everyone I know.
