Trying to get an apartment rent ready. Got the carpet from these guys, they never finished the job....Not Happy at all. Been waiting for the last 3 weeks for them to come back and finish the job!!!I have to get someone else out here to do it.

Theres a nice selection here but after wandering around for 45 minutes and not seeing one single worker there, let alone getting any assistance, Im good. I went to Lowes, spent half that time there and bought more than just flooring.

Our last carpet buying experience through Home Depot was a disaster so we thought we’d try a local shop. Farida was very helpful and prompt in getting our quote and double checking the measurements. The installers were courteous, professional, and efficient - they installed carpet, pad and tack strips for two rooms in three hours! We enjoyed the customer service, we had great follow through. We enjoyed working with them and brainstorming ideas and designs. Final project ended with being short and missing little things, grout, short on shluter, but it got figured out. Overall, we had a really good experience!! We would go back!

I spent months looking for new floors. Giant Dons was the first place we called. They brought out really nice samples, measured the whole house (and wore masks the whole time).I researched the difference in quality with the Giant Dons brands versus the Lowes brands. Lowes brands cant even touch the quality of Giant Dons.I had Lowes and a couple other places and while they quoted me rates like ($1.49 per square foot for installation), they charged way more for things like removing the existing flooring and moving the toilets.In the end, Farida, our sales rep at Giant Dons, ended up being the deciding factor. Everytime we talked to her, she was friendly and professional. She was dressed to the nines every time we saw her, but she didnt mind our slobbery, super furry dogs or our embarrassingly cluttered house. When we explained that the quote she gave us was literally at the very upper end of what we could afford, she invited us back to look at other samples that were the same quality as our first pick but quite a bit cheaper since it was already in stock. The materials ended up costing the same price as Lowes, but are much higher quality. The price for labor was also similar to Lowes after we took into account all the extras Lowes built into their quote.We dont have our new floors yet, but so far we feel really good about using Giant Dons. Ill update this review after the floors are installed.

Very pleased with my new flooring in my kitchen. Doug Cannon was extremely helpful with showing us our floor options and narrowing down our final choice. The actual floor installing went smoothly as well. We did have one problem, but Giant Dons is taking care of it. Will be having Giant Dons install future flooring for us for sure!

We are very impressed with the customer service. Louis Fisk helped us over a year while we were repairing our home after the earthquake. Through all the product questions, changes in delivery and install he was always friendly and supportive.

My wife and I visited on 9/27/19 and were greeted immediately by Angie Decker with a welcoming and friendly attitude. We had a small timeline which we wanted a delivery, as well as pricing; and she came through on both. Since I got the carpet and tile installed, I had a few questions and Angie answered them quickly. I cant say enough about the excellent service we received from Doug at Giant Dons here in Anchorage. We did a complete remodel of our downstairs including guest bathroom, plank flooring, carpet, and quartz kitchen countertops. Doug was a great project manager. His attention to detail, and prompt response to phone calls was really appreciated. He even went so far as to check up on the project when he was on vacation with his family. I should also mention that all the installers he sent to our home were just great, particularly Chad who did the heavy lifting involving the bathroom remodel. If youre planning a remodel do yourself a favor and ask for Doug at Giant Dons.

I cant say enough good things about Doug at Giant Dons in Anchorage. He really went above and beyond to make sure everything was right and looked good. He worked hard to make sure I got what I needed. He held his sub-contractors accountable, and made sure they delivered what he would be proud to have in his own home. I worked with Doug on my flooring, kitchen countertops and backsplash and will go back to him for my next remodel.

Stopped in and ordered new carpeting for my living room and master bedroom. Couldnt have been happier with the experience. Mike was our sales guy and helped choose the best product and gave us a better price. If you need flooring, make sure to ask for him as he doesnt work off a commission like some of the other sales people and can sometimes do better on pricing than they can.

I avoid giving my business to big box stores as much as possible so can support local businesses. I purchased downstairs carpet from Giant Dons a couple months ago and had a great experience working with Ion. When I went back for upstairs carpet, Ion was out of the country and I just couldnt get any help. After a couple of days of being ignored, I called the manager, Louis. By the time he was able to get back to me with a quote I had already figured out that I could save 50 percent by going to Home Depot, so in the end, I appreciate the lack of customer service! Called to ask about a product. The employee cut me off before I had even asked my question. Went in anyway. No employees to be found to direct me to what I was looking for. Wandered the store about 10 - 15 minutes and left. Never saw a single employee. Would not spend my money here.

I did not have a good experience with Giant Dons. I ordered carpet that was in stock - yet it wasnt really. Took 4-6 weeks to get my carpet. Then, when carpet arrived they were a room short for my install.NO communication from store on status, updates, etc. I had to call constantly to get someone to respond to me. They did a good job trying to make it right by crediting me for furniture moving. Carpet in all but one room installed.Several weeks later, with no update from anyone at the store, I called to inquire about the status of my carpet for my additional room. Keep in mind theyve had payment for this the whole time (were at about 8 weeks now) on a carpet they have in stock The carpet is in house. No explanation why I wasnt alerted or called. Scheduled carpet install, installers didnt show up. No missed messages on my phone. Ultimately I cancelled my order for the additional room.Worst customer service ever. If only they had kept me up to date and been proactive about reaching out to me - the customer. I will never recommend them or go back to Giant Dons.

Ive bought flooring for my entire house from them, and now re-floored 2 rooms. They just put an unauthorized charge on my credit card, and cannot explain it other than the girl who sold you the flooring isnt in . That is ridiculous!

I went with my wife as we are remodeling a fix upper. Have searched at least 6 stores including Costco and the depots looking for a deal in a high quality floor. We left the best for last, we came to Flooring America , and the owner Dave worked out a great deal in top of being a very funny guy. Explained us all the pro and cons of each floor and compared to the ones we had in mind... Ive purchased my flooring here twice now , and I think is a MUST visit if you are looking for a quality deal . Thanks Dave

I had a pretty unfortunately experience at Giant Dons with my flooring installation. The original floor came as planned, minus the needed trim. It took Giant Dons FOUR months for them to finally get the trim to me. Each time I called I spoke to a new sales person who couldnt seem to piece together how this situation happened. Walking around with an unfinished floor for four months was no fun. Needless to say, Giant Dons charged my credit card in full (materials plus install) the moment I ordered the floor. I think a way to avoid this situation is to charge half the install fee before the floor is done, and half after the customer agrees that the floor has been installed completely and correctly.I recently went to Sav-On flooring over on Old Seward. Much better customer care and better prices too. I would recommend Sav-On over Giant Dons any day.

Giant Dons replaced 3 bedrooms and one bathroom (carpet and laminate,) in about a 5 day turn around. Service was great and everyone was very helpful in the store.

Terrible customer service... scheduled a home evaluation in person did not ask the gentleman’s name who took my information... day of appointment no confirmation call no one shows up... called to inquire was placed on hold after giving my information again waited 3 minutes someone picks up and say John, I said no, they said oh hold on and hung up.....

Sloppy and unacceptable carpet layer: carpet layer did an unacceptable job there are lines to show where the carpet connected and then glued pieces of rug on the finish. Sloppy. Giant Dons tried to fix it but with the same carpet layer and only slight improvement. Lots of money for poor service and no discounts either after showing them and the inconvenience caused.
