Good experience. Salesman was helpful and knowledgeable but we did feel a little rushed as our salesman was helping us and at least one other couple at the same time and we didn’t feel like we had his full attention. Would have loved more one on one time for more questions and details. Would go back again but would probably make an appointment to have their full attention while we purchase a vehicle. We do understand they were busy when we were there.

Had a really great experience here, did not feel pressured to buy a vehicle plus they are very forthcoming with anything that has happened with the vehicle, the maintenance that has been done on it, and they take the time to really get the financing within your payment ability. I purchased a car remotely (and from out of state) from Wilson Toyota and everything was flawless. It was one of the easiest car buying experiences I had and one of the only dealerships that would offer to sell the car (a rare TRD Pro model) without a mark up. While the car took a bit longer than expected to arrive at the dealership, Austin See kept giving me updates and was extremely communicative. There are hundreds of Toyota dealerships closer to where I live, but going forward, I will only be purchasing my Toyotas here.

Could not be happier! As someone who really shops around when purchasing a car, I found other dealers who tried to get me to settle for a worse financing rate, (sometimes much worse), and who low balled me on my trade in assuming I had done no research. Wilson treated me very well from start to finish, found me the best finance rate, gave me a good offer on my car. They even held the vehicle I was interested in since I lived several hours away and couldnt get there for over a week. All of the staff was great and I highly recommend Wilson Toyota.

Overall sales experience was pretty well. My salesman was great. However they offer a “Wilson warranty” on all or almost all used cars. The one I purchased had it. About a day after getting it home the wastegates on the turbos started making noise. This is a know issue from the manufacturer. The manufacturer even posted a repair bulletin on this issue stating if the wastegate is making the noise replace turbo. Of course Toyota refuses to repair and tells me it’s supposed to do this. This is very frustrating and will never buy another from Wilson nor will friends and family.

When I decided to get a new car, I did a lot of the research on my own and finally settled on acquiring a new Toyota Highlander. When it came to picking a dealer, I talked to several of my friends and asked for their opinion. Two of them recommended Wilson Toyota of Ames. They both had personal experience with Wilson Toyota and they felt they were dealt with honestly. That was certainly my experience, also. I have recently had some health issues and I have had some difficulty getting around. I located the car (exterior and interior colors, features, etc) I wanted and Wilson Toyota by phone. I explained my personal circumstances to the salesman and gave him the inventory number of the car I was interested in. I also told him I had a trade-in and sent him a text with a number of photos of my car. My initial phone call to Wilson Toyota was on a Monday morning at 10:30 and we reached agreement on the trade-in, the price of the new car, and it was delivered to me at 8:30 am on Saturday. Outstanding service and great price. They were wonderful to work with through the sale of the car and they explained the 2 year, 25,000 mile maintenance at no charge, extended power train warranty, and Toyota $1,000 reimbursement program for new car owners requiring assistive devices. I am so thankful I was encouraged to Do business with Wilson Toyota and I would strongly encourage others to do the same. A wonderful experience.

My wife was visiting family in Ames when our van broke down. Repair costs deemed it necessary to look at possibly buying a new van. I was out of state and together we did tons of research to see where the best deals in the area were. Mark was friendly, and knowledgeable about his current offerings, but those offerings didnt quite fit what we needed. My wife received NO pushiness from him to buy something that wasnt a right fit. I gained respect for him through that first encounter she had with him. Then he kept in touch as other options came on the lot that he thought might interest her. She test drove it, fell in love, and then came the tricky part - the purchase. I was still out of state, and while my wife is an amazing judge of character and of quality, she generally leaves the negotiating up to me, since Im in sales. Mark was professional and personable in our phone conversations, and worked with me to negotiate a great deal on our new Sienna. Every step of the way, Mark was a class-act guy, with the friendliness to win you over and the effort to actually get things done. ALL of the other dealerships my wife visited ended in sour experiences, and while she loved a few of the vans she found elsewhere, she couldnt stand the salesmen. Mark proved that he cared about getting us what we needed, and was a great friend along the way. I met mark when I finally flew into Ames, and Im glad I did. Thanks Mark. This was our first experience with Wilson Toyota and we were very impressed. We were reluctant to car shop during a pandemic, but the salespeople brought the vehicles to our home to allow us the greatest ease. When we found the perfect vehicle we were sad to learn they didn’t have our interior color preference available. I wish no star was an option. The absolute worst experience Ive ever had just getting an oil change and tires rotated. Staff was rude, unknowledgeable, and belitting. I had people sitting in the lobby say how rude the service advisor I dealt with was as I gathered my things to leave. Im embarrassed for them. Definitely will not return!

There are twentieth century car dealers, twenty-first century car dealers, and then there is Wilson Toyota. At Wilson Toyota, there’s Brad Baker. What am I trying to say? Okay, the buyer wants a car at a fair price and the dealer wants to make a fair profit; these goals are mostly consistent so it should be possible for everyone to come out a winner. Right? Only sometimes.The problem with the twentieth century dealers, and there are plenty of them still in business, is that they want you to pay as much as possible; that makes you want to get them back by getting the car at a price that gives them the absolute minimum profit. But the dealers are professionals and they will almost always make a deal that’s good for them regardless if it’s good for you. This creates an adversarial relationship and you can hardly feel that you may have been had by the salesperson after the deal is done. I always hated buying a car when these dealers were the only choice.The twenty-first century dealer understands that the final deal needs to be good for everybody because they want us to feel good enough to see them again in the future. Big improvement. This is how Wilson Toyota does business and more often than not, they set the bar pretty high for their competition.Brad Baker of Wilson Toyota is among the best of the best automobile salespersons. He listens very effectively to what your needs are and takes time to get to know you so he can help you clarify those needs. He clearly explains all your options and what the different models can do. Past experiences were that the lowest cost of car ownership meant keeping a good one until it was pretty worn out; however, the safety technology of 2018 may have been good at the time, but the current safety technology is significantly better. Brad Baker helped me select the safest 2020 RAV4 options, arranged for a fair trade in, and even showed me how to get a refund on the unused portion of my extended warranty. Our professional relationship was never adversarial; indeed, I’d say we have become friends.Ten years ago, I’d expected buying a new car to be more stress than fun.
