Facilities are very outdated, there’s no atmosphere here, but it’s close and they have a touch of everything, from swimming to weights to racquetball.Kids go to some of the classes and have a great time. It’s just time for a major update! All of the other city rec centers are on a COMPLETELY different level.

I really only use the pool. Which I really like. Its a nice big pool. And they do have a great winter bubble they put over it. I wish theyd leave it on for a few more weeks as spring comes. If they take it off in early April. Only will complain is that the locker room showers are really low. All of them. So if youre a tall person you have to bend in very uncomfortable ways to try to clean your hair out.

We have REALLY enjoyed our experience with swim lessons (pre 1&2 for my 4 year old) and just tried out the public swim hours and it was a blast! My girls, 2&4, loved it and told me they want to come every day! The slide is great and can be utilized by all ages. That’s not how it is at other Rec center pools in the area. You can bring/use any floaties as long as they aren’t too big. We were there from 12:30-2 and it wasn’t super crowded and there was always room to play in any area of the pool. We will definitely be coming back here!

The pool is clean. Otherwise, the public swim hours are limited. And when they are open for public swimming, they still have parts of the pool shut down for lessons and teams to use. They put up lanes without thinking about access to ladders to get in and out of the pool. Its like the designers tried to create a pool that served everything and instead of providing a good public pool experience, it doesnt do that or have a decent competition pool either. There are facilities in neighboring cities that are far superior. Unless you have some deal from living in the city, I highly recommend you look other places for a good community pool. I have not utilized the rest of the rec center enough for a review but the pool mediocre at best.

Pool is ok, the 3 stars is for swimming lessons. The kids teaching are socially dimwitted when it comes to communication and ability to work with kids. Its not worth the money to do it. Just teach your kids yourselves. You will get better results and more quality time with your kids. Also swimming lessons does not include letting the kids swim and use the pool after the lessons. That should be a given, especially when the lessons are worthless.

It was great! People were nice and my family and I had a lot of fun. Theres a swimming pool with lanes and a diving board, also an are for kids. There is only 7 people allowed in the hot tub at a time. There were also enough showers in the locker room. It costs $375 for a family pass up to 11 people.

Great location for a local pool, on top of a hill overlooking the valley. Constantly making additions and improvements. Can be crowded in the summer. While its nice to be able to use it in the winter and the new bubble and lights are a HUGE improvement...occasionally there are problems with noise and ventilation.Older than surrounding Rec Centers like Lehi Legacy Center or Provo Rec...just bear that in mind when coming here--it wont be quite as sparkling clean or new.

Google maps usually directs you to the lower parking lot of the Rec Center, which is fine is you are there for the pool in the summer time. However, all other Rec center activities, (Or swimming when the bubble is on) would require you to enter through the main entrance on the north side, where the parking lot is by the baseball field.

Racquetball courts, gymnastics, group fitness classes, a track, a pool, and a pretty good amount of equipment. I don’t like running on the track because it’s pretty enclosed with not much to look at other than walls. This has been a family favorite activity. Even though we are Lehi residents, we prefer the American Fork pool because the lifeguards are not quite so aggressive in their defense of the jacuzzi from children. In the winter, sometimes you need to warm your kids up, and it seems that they understand that.

Friendly staff, but the AF fitness facility majorly needs updates. The rec programs are good and the swim lessons are 2 teachers to 3-4 kids (or maybe thats a positive from covid)!!! However, getting a swim pass here for the summer is not advisable, as you cannot go swim until 12:30 @ the earliest. For many parents with young children, swimming at 12:30 or thereafter doesnt work well.

I go to the AF Rec Center for the pool. If you time it correctly, you can get there when the teams are out and can get a lane to swim in. Time it incorrectly, you might as well turn around and go home as you wont get a lane or be in a lane with 10 other people. It is usually set up long course when I swim. Great to be able to swim long course outdoors in the summer instead of swimming under the bubble or indoors.

This is the best fitness center on earth. Well maybe not the best fitness center on earth. But it is pretty great our family goes here often because we left a work out and go swimming and spend time together. It’s definitely family focused there are a lot of things you can do together. I was amazed when they put a huge bubble wrap over the pool now you can swim in the winter. It’s really fun.

The pricing is very fair considering what an annual pass breaks down to month-by-month. I think it breaks down to less than $20 monthly and that includes a gym, track, pool, and other amenities. The pool is well-maintained. The gym is not over-crowded like Vasa is, so while it isnt the fanciest, it has the basics you need and you can pretty much always get the machine you want.

To be entirely frank, the pool should have been redone years ago, and is generally quite disgusting. Many of the walls have chipping paint and the gymnasts are often using the track, keeping all other peoples off of it. The locker rooms are molding and have never seen a clean day, and the weight rooms are sub-par at best. But, the coaches and staff are extraordinary, the life guards have a smile and everyone there is always willing to lend a helping hand. So while the actual building is lacking, they make the experience of attending the AF pool a great one.

My favorite feature would be the giant bubble they put over the pool to keep it warm and usable all year long. I like this gym because it is not too crowded and has a bigger pool than other local gyms. Their weight room could be updated. They do not give public enough lanes in the morning or times when swim teams are using the pool. They need at LEAST two lanes (slow lane/fast lane)..Or else you end up circle swimming with sometimes 3 or more people of all different skill levels and paces. It makes it nearly impossible to get a good workout because you are slowed down by waiting to go around or dodging other swimmers. You have to know what times to go, and they are usually in the late morning early afternoon.

Great place to get your fitness on. There are a lot of nice familiar faces whenever I work out here. There is a lot of equipment here and it is mostly always kept in good order. The only down sides for me is that the day care is only open until noon Monday through Friday and closed Saturday which is fine for a lot of people, but Saturday morning is a busy time and I feel that a day care service during this time would be a big perk.

This place is old and decrepit and should be torn down and rebuilt. It only took one visit there to not want to go inside again. Very little natural light. Blind corners around the track. This is much more than a gym. They host a high number of community classes as well. There are youth classes for ballet/dance, karate, gymnastics, swimming, scouting merit badges, and many other areas of interest. They have a good number of elliptical machines and treadmills as well as any indoor track (that is pretty small [i.e. not 400 meters]). You can buy a family pass for fairly cheap around Steel Days when they have a big sale.

The AF rec center, his isnt one of those club gyms and it doesnt have some of the fancy new equipment that some other city rec centers have. The rec center is a nice place but we dont have access to everything because clubs are priority. You cant play basket ball or soccer like in Lehi because the gymnasium is only for Gymnastic club. You dont have access to the swimming pool in the morning because it is for swimming lessons and in the afternoon you have access only if the swimming clubs dont have practice. There are 4 racquetball rooms but you can only use two. The two other are for workouts and walleye ball. So if you live next to Lehi or Pleasant Grove, then you should go there!

I loved that it was so close to my house. I love the tot gymnastics class! As soon as my daughter was old enough for the 3-6 year old class is when it was not my favorite. My daughter was 3 years old put in a class with 20+ other kids. There was no direction, help or critiquing. She has fun cuz she can run around and do what she wants and the coaches don’t notice half the time because they aren’t paying attention. I fear if I weren’t there she would run away and they wouldn’t even notice. My son has taken the ninja warrior class three times hoping it would be better each time. Too many kids in a class with the coach, sometimes a teenage helper who you can tell doesn’t want to be there and it’s total Chaos in my opinion. I’m surprised kids don’t get hurt more often. There is no control or organization in these classes. On the first day of classes you don’t really know where to go or what class because there are so many going on. You have to just ask a bunch of people to figure it out. We also tried swimming class.Teenagers holding kids through the water one at a time until the half hour is up is not teaching them. im Disappointed. Some people love it but I’m not one of them. When I pay for a class for my kids I expect them to learn something and the teachers to teach.
