I would give NO stars if possible. Mail carrier is either illiterate or stealing our mail but 5 out of 6 days we do not get our mail. The day we do is when we stand at the mail box waiting for her. Even then it takes her time to find our mail or packages. They need new reliable employees

Worst of the worst. Horrible customer service, very rude staff. Im pretty sure they get off on arguing with customers. Thats right @USPS, we are your customers. I cant believe people wonder why the postal service is failing. If this were a private company theyd have been bankrupt by now instead of us subsidizing their failure.

7 yrs my mail is delivered to another address. The house numbers are the same but the street names are totally different 😂. I have regularly reported this problem over the yrs but nothing is done. I just get a lot of excuses. Now packages are being lost. The postal worker (postmaster?) I have been dealing with for 3 months is absolutely unconcerned. He said, What do you want me to do about it? I cant personally deliver your mail to you! I literally had to ask him to write the incorrect address down, as well as mine, and speak to his driver. That as the drivers managing supervisor he needed to take responsibility for the employee not being able to do the job correctly. He asked why I was directing my hostility at him. 🤔 sheeeezzzz......

This post office has been horribly disappointing. I had my mail put on hold and though I specified my mail only the carrier held everyones mail. This hold was in force for one day before I canceled the hold online, at the post office, and even hunted down my carrier and made sure that she knew it was only ever my mail and to just disregard the hold entirely. Well, though Ive received mail at this address for ever a year and am registered to vote and my license are all at this address the carrier has took it upon herself to decide what mail I should have a chance of receiving and what I will never see since she decided to not HOLD my mail but to mark and send it RETURN TO SENDER UNKNOWN RECIPIENT to all of my government mail besides my stimulus check which she handed to another resident/owner at the address in question. When confronted about her athority and decission process in determining what mail I can have and what she returns she flat out lied to the post office worker who called the carrier to find out where my non existent mail on hold might be. When I spoke to the Post Master I was wasting her time, my issue was not important and she finally asked me what is it I wanted to happen with submitting my concern to which I replied... Id like to receive my mail in a timely and god forbid respectful manner for a fellow human being, though I realize the latter might be asking too much. It has been a week and I am still not receiving my mail, it isnt being held, and not all is being returned and a majority is just vanishing.****update The post master has stated I’ll never receive mail through her post office again no matter when I live or have my mail forwarded too. She will personally write returned to sender on it all. This is after she held my stimulus check at the post office when no hold has been placed on my mail and the refused to release the government check to me with the required identification while holding it in her hand. She should be fired and charges filed on her for abuse of power. What a small person with little education to behave I. Such a manner much less in a lobby full of people who pay her salary. Worthless POS. I didn’t really want that stimulus check until she held with and refused to release it. Isn’t that a felony?

I am the Financial Officer of Mainland Community Church. We get our mail at a post office box in Texas City, Texas and do not have a physical main box. Our church closed and went to on- line streaming services. I am in the very high-risk group for getting COVID-19 so I turned in a change of address form to have the mail TEMPORARILY sent to my home address in Alvin, Texas until May 31, 2020. I ended up modifying the order on April 22, 2020 to return all mail to PO Box on April 30, 2020. Well, I only received 5 pieces of mail from April 1 until April 30 when I modified the order. All members tithe checks were returned to them marked UNDELIVERABLE. I twice called the phone number on the letter they sent me confirming the change. They both times were very helpful and nice but nothing was ever fixed. I even went to the Alvin and the Texas Citys Post Offices to no avail. To me this is just so frustrating and totally ineffective and inefficient.

This is the worst post office I have ever dealt with. When we have packages sent to us, they are marked as delivered, but we dont get them until 2-3 days later. We go days without ever seeing our postal worker on our street, with no mail delivery for days. I mailed a priority 3-day package to Florida. After 5 days, it was delivered to me. When I took it back to the post office, they asked me why I spent the money to send a package to myself. When I pointed out that it WASNT supposed to be delivered to ME, they tried to charge me again to resend it. I just wish I could give this office ZERO stars. One is too many.

I was wondering why this place had such a bad rating... went inside and found out why. I dont know if I should feel sorry for them or not. When you walk inside it feels like someone just died and Im at a funeral. The gentleman Indian decent seemed pretty flustered over nothin... they where the ones who messed up not me. At least be a little bit considerate next time. I hope HR fixes the place up because at this rate they will have 0 rating- and 0 respect from the customers.. nevertheless less I did get assistance for what I needed so that is the reason for the 3 stars...

Do note there is No self service machine meaning employees work harder and it WILL take longer due to the fact that stuff like buying stamps and buying a label for a package will all have to be taken care of by humans.There is also NO BULK DROP. meaning if you have anything bigger than a letter or postcard you have to wait until there is humans to leave your package with. If you come after hours or on a holiday take your package to a better post office.

I spent $68 to ship a care package from Maine to Alvin in 3 days (because there were perishables inside). I shipped out on Sept 9 and got there Sept 17. I called the post office in Alvin on the 17th and they said they had delivered the package, but low and behold, my friend hadnt gotten anything. She checked her mailbox every day and nope! Then today hits, 9/22. My friend does not get a care package but, instead, a few scraps of torn cardboard from the box, shoved into a bag with a note from the post office saying Sorry, we inadvertently damaged your package!You mean, what, you ate the food inside? Or somehow the box came apart and you lied to me and claimed it was delivered? This is outrageous. Everyone in that office needs to be fired.

I have been waiting on a package for a while and today it says that it ships to my address.... which the package was then taken back because there was an error with my address? I had an item shipped from that company with the Post Office before and there was no problem with the address.. So I decide to call to see if they could just leave it near the door like theyve done before but no answer and on hold for a while. So I hang up and try about 5-10 minutes later and still... no answer after being on hold. What the hell... Finally got on the phone and talked with on of the rudest people from a business How you gonna do that? when I asked if I could fix and address that the company messed up on. Then sent my package back! SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!

This is the worst post office delivery service I have ever dealt with. Two to three days a week I get other peoples mail in my box with my mail. We never know when or if our mail will be delivered. I receive notification of mail that is never delivered. I am talking about mail from Social Security, Insurance, etc. As of this date I have been waiting for mail from my insurance company that should have been delivered 8 to 9 days ago. This is a very serious problem and needs to be resolved immediately. I have reported problems with this post office in the past and its still happening.

Most of the time I have good service at this Post Office. I take packages to it, I have a business Post office box and they deliver mail to my house. When I have needed to call, they provide attentive service. Have I had a few mistakes here or there? Yes I have...But considering the mail they go through and the customers they see. I would like to be a customer that shows the appreciation that they are due.

My wife and I needed to turn in our documentation and photos to process our passports. I went on the USPS website to confirm the Alvin Post Office was walk in as opposed to appointment. The website confirmed walk-in from 10:00am - 3:00pm. Not trusting the website I contacted the 800 number for USPS and spent about 10-15 minutes going through their menu and on hold. I finally spoke with Brian who confirmed once again -- walk-ins welcome. Upon arriving at the Alvin Post Office I noted a sign for US Passport Processing - Appointments ONLY. I asked to speak to the manager and explained the whole scenario outlined above. She promptly told me, Im sorry sir but thats how it is. She further explained, due to personnel cutbacks they had to change their passport policy in January 2014. She said, they have been trying to get USPS to update the website since that time. I countered that none of that was my fault, but she still refused to serve us. This is one compelling reason to privatize the Postal Service.

I am satisfied with the Alvin postal employees who serve us at the retail facility but I am completely disgusted with our home mail delivery person(s)! We continue to get multiple neighbors mail that we in-turn, must deliver correctly. I believe that our mail carrier and the mail sorter cannot read rudimentary English. It is basically unskilled labor to read a three-line address and deliver it properly?! Typical Federal Government incompetence at the local level. It is past time to privatize the entire Post Office, fire the malfeasant, over-paid employees, and stop our taxpayer subsidies. The Post Office continues to lose $5 to $7 billion every year that we must fund. It is an archaic system!

The gentleman who called me , was rude. He described himself as a manager named Jay. Asked him to assist me, and rudely put me on hold , and then got back on the phone in a loud voice , are you there are you there and said yes. I asked for the post master to call me and he said why? I told Jay ,I needed to speak with him , still havent received a call. They want pick up their phone either. He never would assist me.

Our mail carrier CONSTANTLY misdelivers packages (25% error rate.) The post master has done nothing to remedy the situation despite years of emails and phone calls. I cringe every time someone ships something to me via USPS. The post office is a total waste of taxpayer money. Can we just privatize it already?!!

Just had my first experience with the Alvin Post office. Rude! They delivered mail before the mail hold was cancelled. I cancelled the mail hold because they were delivering the mail. Today, I found out they were holding the mail when I called about not receiving mail.

I ordered a pair of wheels.There were supposed to come on January 16, 2018.It is almost a week and I still have not got them.I had to wait out plans i was going to have, because of the post office.At the order of time it was bitterly cold outside.This has no excuse for rushing, not caring, or even focusing on the address.People who applied to the job should have known that just because it is cold doesnt mean you have to slack off and not do your job right!I had to re-order my wheels. Thankfully i got my money back.I know you might not even read or care about this message. However i would like the US Post office to relize this has happened more than once!Thank you for reading my complaint!I hope you do something about it!

I called because a package has been on delivery for 3 weeks now and i called them they said they will call back but never do. I contacted the 800 number with a tracking number and told me to call the local USPS office without the tracking number to see if my package was laying around in there, i called and would not do anything with out a tracking number. I hope that this place gets closed.

They told me its my responsibility to take my out going mail to them when ive told them i cant do that i have one car and ive been habing trouble with my car for a month now my fil is in jail so the only way i can talk to him is sending him letters witch is something ive bene doing since day one of moving back in january now suddenly its a issue that i dont have a flag my landlord doesnt want me to replace the mail box or get another one they spoke the women was very very rude and on top of all this my dad is sending me a title to my car i lost the copy so he sent me one 2 weeks ago and i still have yet to get it and i know he has the correct address he sent me a picture if you are looking help to find out what is going on with your mail or how to fix a issue dont go asking the rude lady on the phone she will make you feel bad when ive mever had a issue with them before this has thrown me off completely

We live in Alvin and our mail service is through the Alvin post office. Our post woman is so bad I have to re-deliver mail to a house behind us every week. I get stacks and stacks of these peoples mail. Magazines, packages, letters from schools, tons of things big and small and can only hope if they are getting ours like we are theirs, they are returning it too. I personally have driven over multiple packages as well as put up to five pieces of mail a week back in our mailbox with a note saying it isnt ours. Shes only looking at the house numbers and not the actual street name. That doesnt include the package that she marked as delivered that was not delivered until after she had already delivered our mail and brought back to us after she opened it that same day claiming it was delivered at the wrong address and given back to her... All in the same day.... Because I guess they must have had her personal number to call her and have her come back that exact same day to pick up my package after they opened it and decided they didnt want it so she went to go pick it back up and come back to our house to drop it off.... she wrote onn top of the box delivered to wrong address and they opened it, sorry ALL IN THE SAME DAY!! yeah right. Weve left her several notes, and Ive called the manager and nothing changes. Its so bad we have opened up a PO box in santa fe and have all of our packages and important things sent there because we know we cant trust for it to show up, not be opened or left at someone elses house with a similar address. After multiple attempts at asking for this to be fixed Im still re-delivering mail. Im pretty sure I should be getting paid or some kind of benefits at this point.

This place discriminates against anyone different from them. They will open your packages for no reason. I was reading that they have the right to do so. Im ok with that, I dont have nothing to hide but why do they treat people different ?!! I feel there is racist people working there maybe stealing or looking for valuables to steal from someone that works hard to get what he wants to buy for their babies and family. Im very upset whenever I order something, I already know my package will arrive damaged or open, cause some noisy person or thief wants it for him or her self. I love when the mail man drops off my packages or when I go to the office to receive or send something its always exciting, but not this one here in Alvin. I really hope they will change their behavior.

I hate giving bad reviews but I went in person to ask if I order something and its delivered by ups, FedEx and was larger than a PO box could they hold it. The guy told me yes. In person you can reserve the box for 6 and 12 months. I saw the previous night a 3 month option. So I left to reserve it online. Went back the followijg day Wednesday and got my key and reconfirmed it wouldnt be a problem from same guy. Ordered 2 day air. Now got message the location doesnt accept ups deliveries. Now I saw the sign saying we dont take ups or FedEx but I thought that meant they dont hold them and give them to be delivered. No I have to wait an extra few days drive to la marque to pick it up in person. I hope I can get a refund for this PO box.

Ive had several issues with this post office. Theyve said they have changed my mailbox lock and left the ketlys with non existing people who were at my home. When their policy is to come in and sign stating you have recieved your new keys. Jay, is about the worthless person ive ever interacted with, valled me an idiot over the phone and is lazy when it comes to helping with customer service. He is a joke, and definitely shouldnt be working ANYWHERE, wish hed fall off the earth.

Theyre ok unless you want customer service. They need to be retrained to learn to be more professional about their customer interactions.This place is OK if you know everything you need to know beforehand and need little guidance, otherwise dont expect thorough help you might get at ups or fedex

Things have gone downhill in this post office in the last year or so when it seems the majority of former employees have been replaced. I have a PO box and they mis-box mail all the time. I wonder who is getting my mail when I find someone elses mail in my box. I get peoples mail whose STREET address has my PO box number in it, even though their zip code is different. I got someones bank checks this way. Most recently I did not get an Amazon order. Someone on the phone at the post office said well the computer says it was delivered and refused to look around in the back for it. A month later turns out my order WAS sitting in the back all this time and the only reason I got it is because another box came in for me that got put with the previous box. I came into the lobby one time to a customer having a screaming fit because she was getting sued due to her registered mail not reaching destination by a deadline. Someone was explaining to her oh, we found your mail laying on the floor in the back, sorry.

Undependable, loses packages regularly, long lines inside office with no help at the counter and management is of no help. I was there for some stamps about a year ago and they told me they were out...this is supposed to be a post office? This is a place to avoid!
