It was great! We got checked in online and were greeted right away. My son got a great haircut and felt comfortable talking to the stylist. She asked for his opinion and was super helpful in recommending things that would work.

I walked in feeling like a 6, maybe 6.5 but after my haircut I felt like 9 pushing 10 range. I received a low cut fade and had my hair restyled beyond my belief. My stylists was Lauren and she was so wonderful the only thing better than her haircuts is her articulate and quick witted savvy! Wonderful haircut from an even better person! Highly RECOMMEND!

OMG. Talk about finding a diamond in the rough! I came in looking like wolverine, and Lauren had me walking out like Ryan Gosling. Her attention to detail is second to none and the quality conversation had me feeling like I was just one of the gals in the movies. A+ work out of the fantastic workers at this Supercuts. I changed my haircut completely and had it highlighted in December, 2020 at Ankeny Supercuts. Shelby did my cut and color. It was the first time in my adult life that I did not have to set my hair, all due to the way Shelby cut it. When it needed trimmed, Shelby had moved to the Altoona Supercuts. I drove to Altoona to have Shelby cut it again. I was very pleased with all the services.

Abby has always done an amazing job with my haircuts and beard trims. She is always helpful with awesome suggestions and such a great barber in this humble mans opinion. She is the only person I allow to cut my hair. Absolutely the best!

If you don’t check in online and make an appointment in advance this place doesn’t do well with walk-ins. I been there 3 times and only been able to get service once. Very non inviting staff and just come off rude or that the customer is a burden. I’m done giving it a chance at this point.

All I wanted was a hair cut to feel confident about. The lady who cut my hair seemed to be in a bad mood, didnt like it when I asked for a little shorter, and left my head looking boxy. I get you have a stressful job but when you leave your supposed to be happy not feeling ljke you could do the same thing at home. Never again

NOT recommended. I set up appt for my sons hair cut. They are making him wear a mask (he is 2 years old) I explained this and then the manager asks “will he even sit still?” Wow if you could just be a tad bit more friendly and ACT like you like your job, you might get more business. They are rude and not professional.

UPDATE TO ADD: Brian the manager contacted me and handled this situation with absolute professionalism. He made sure that he got all information that would be necessary to resolve the issue I had. I will definitely be a future patron due to Brian’s professionalism and willingness to hear all reviews, good or bad.Walked in an hour and a half before closing. You could tell they were busy. The gal at the front desk greeted me and told me it would be about an hour so I could wait or I could come back. I told her we’d come back. As she was getting my name another stylist with short red hair that had been eyeing us the whole time yells across the salon “no more after that one!” I told the young gal taking my info that if it’s an issue we will go elsewhere. She said “no it’s fine.” As I’m standing there, a little boy in the red heads chair asked “what do you tell them if you can’t cut their hair?” She said “you tell them no! It’s pretty easy!” I was appalled. If you don’t want anymore people there is a way to say that - and this lady had no clue what tact is. The poor young gal checking is in looked mortified and apologetic. Due the rudeness we’ll never be back.

We typically go to the Waukee location and have been very happy with or service here, but we just relocated to the Altoona area, so we visited this store for the first time. We’ve also been to several Super Cuts locations in the Omaha area. We were extremely satisfied with our experience at the Altoona store. Abbie cut my hair and Laura cut my boyfriend’s. They were both extremely knowledgeable and friendly, as were the other stylists. It’s obvious that they are passionate about making sure their clients leave the store happy with their hairstyle. They also recommended specific products that would work well with our hair types. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this location to people in the Altoona area.

I have followed Sarah from her previous salon and I cannot say anything bad about her because she ALWAYS meets my expectations. I haven’t gone to ANY other stylist - whether it’s for my hair or having my eyebrows waxed. She took my fear away of dying my hair and not liking it because I always love what she does! Needed a hair cut over the weekend and stopped in on Saturday. They close at 6:00 and I was there just ahead of that time. They were very accommodating and were able to squeeze me in for a cut. The staff was friendly. The store was clean. Its in a new strip mall in Altoona right on 8th street so easy to find. I received a great cut and wash for around $20.

So pleased with my new style! Abbie did a fabulous job!!!No one was there when I first came in but while she was taking my information, two other customers came in. The people behind me left very unhappy. They had called in to inquire about the waiting time and came in expecting that they would bump anyone who happened to walk in for a cut. Thats not the way business works, folks! If you want to get right in, MAKE AN APPOINTMENT so they can block that time out! As a customer, take some responsibility! They have no idea how many people in the next moment might be walking through the door! Theyre building a new business and have no idea how many beauticians they may need. Cut them a break and really, do you want them hurrying through YOUR haircut, just so they can get to their next customer to keep on a timeline? Think about it, folks! Walk in doesnt mean No waiting, it just means youre very lucky if you dont have to wait!Dont be afraid to try this place! Hey news flash...if your door is wide open with an open sign on then expect people to think your open. If your gonna tell someone that walks in at 3:55 your closed then change your hours to not say open till 4. Make it say only taking haircuts till 3:55. If your sign says 4 then you stay open till 4. Dont worry it was a last option and we wont be back. No wonder people hate these places.

Im only giving it two stars because of the person who greeted me was friendly. I was told it would be a 40 minute wait before my son could get his haircut. So, we put his name down, ran to the grocery store, and came back. It was still not his turn. There were only two people working, and about 3-4 people in the lobby waiting. After waiting a total of an hour and a half, we were still never waited on, and I watched two other people walk out after waiting just as long. The stylist never once gave us an update about where we were in line, or how much longer it would be. At first when I saw this place was opening, I thought it was great to have a new place nearby, but I left being extremely disappointed. I will not be back. They definitely need to have more stylist on hand for the amount of people they having coming in and out.

Went on a Wednesday AM for a haircut. The website said there would be a 20 minute wait. When I arrived there was one person getting her hair cut and one waiting. They did not greet me when I arrived or give me any indication of how long the wait would be. I waited 40 minutes and they were just starting on the second person. Still no indication of how long my wait would be. I walked out and left. Went across the street to Fantastic Sams and got my hair cut, my eyebrows waxed, and was done in under 20 minutes. They need more staff or to work faster and give customers a realistic expectation of wait times when they check in.

Dont bother! Called to see how long the wait was for a haircut. She literally said someone was going on break in 30 minutes and could get us right in. We arrived 5 minutes later and she had gone on break. Told us it would be 30 minute wait.EDITED TO RESPOND TO MANAGER: Brian, thank you for taking the time to look into the matter. It still really did happen as easily as I originally stated. When I called at 3:30 to ask the wait time, the woman on the phone said at 4:00 they would be down to one stylist and I told her we were 5 minutes out. I even asked if she wanted to write down our name to make the appointment. She declined. She said, We will take you in when you get here. The woman who walked in ahead of us arrived seconds ahead of us. When the stylist told us someone just went on break, I pointed out that I had called 5 minutes prior and was given different information. All she said was, Sorry. It will be 30 minutes now. It would not be so frustrating if we hadnt just spent 1.5 hours waiting at Supercuts in Ankeny. Calling ahead to hear there was no wait prompted the drive to Altoona. Again, thanks for checking into this.

My husband went here for a haircut and left extremely disappointed. His normal salon didn’t have an opening and he was in serious need of a haircut so he called and Supercuts was able to get him right in. He told the lady he wanted the top to be finger length and she told him she wasn’t comfortable with that so she would be using the buzzers. She then left a huge line in the back of his head and when he asked her to blend it she wasn’t happy about it. After three times he gave up and walked out with a clear line in the back of his head and the top shorter than he asked for because his stylist didn’t want to do what he wanted. He also had a straight line above one ear and not so much on the other. Needless to say he ended up going to another place to get it fixed as best as possible and he will not be returning to Supercuts.
